Best

I am currently an RN student at medtech college and I absolutely love it there... The instructors are amazing and they all want to see you succeed... I would most def recommend me...

Worst

I went there because I was not accepted into Ivytech's nursing program, even as an honor roll student. I heard Medtech was a new, for-profit(so very expensive) school, but if I co...

Take my advice, if no one else's. 4/15/2009

Please do not waste your time here. I spent 1 year in the RN program so I know what I am talking about. YES, they are accredited by the State Board of nursing. BUT that is the only benefit.Guaranteed. The TEAS test standards are very low and they will admit people that don't need to be there. But there are very intelligent students enrolled as well. As far as everyone else claiming that the staff is awful. That is 100% the truth!! They DO treat you as though you are in high school and if you have any issues that you need to talk to administration about you can be guaranteed to feel like an idiot for even making an appointment. These people are on a SEVERE power trip! It is very unlikely that you will encounter a good teacher at MedTech. In the year I was there I encountered 3 good teachers, and 2 of them quit because of administration. Within only a few short months everyone in my class realized this and EVERYONE swore that they would NEVER recommend MedTech to anyone. And these are al more

Chance to become a nurse 3/5/2009

Becoming a nurse is very difficult, as we all know. There aren't many schools for nursing that don't require a 4.0 GPA. MedTech is a really good way to become a nurse quickly. I am almost done with their RN program and I have been very pleased. Even though the school has issues (like every single other college), the faculty and staff truly care about all of us and try to help when we need it. My sister-in law works for a hospital and has already told me, when I graduate, I will be able to work there. I am going to go from making 13.00 and hour to 25.00 and hour. For two years in college, that is very good. MedTech is obviously growing, so they have things they need towork out. They are constantly imporiving though. They try to make changes to help students, not hurt us. I would 100% recommend this school. more

Response to KT a's review 3/2/2009

I am completely in agreement with KT a. One of the reviewers "Curious", only had 2 or three lines. One word was misspelled TWICE..and it is a HUGE error.. College was spelled Collage, and the other was assessment test.PEOPLE...please use your spell checker. Even if you know how to spell the word, there is always the chance that you typed it incorrectly. But, college is definitely not a typo because it was spelled incorrectly TWICE. It is just too bad that they don't have a "grammar check" button. Good Luck to all in their respective fields and choice of education. more

=) 2/26/2009

I have been attending MedTech for awhile now. I think that it's a great school and I am very lucky to have the chance to attend. It's not the school that makes the nurse it's the person. Anyone who applys themselves and goes the extra mile outside of class will do well here. It's the students that think everything should be handed to them that end up dropping out and writing bad reviews. it's quite sad. I have attended Ivy Tech and IU Bloomington in the past and I have had my fair share of bad teachers. Ive had the teachers at IU Bloomington who read straight out of the book and test you on stuff they didn't even cover in class. IU Bloomington is suppose to be one of the best schools in the state and even they have bad teachers. So we just need all the idiots to stop writing bad reviews about MedTech online. It does no good. I have a friend going through the RN program at IVY TECH while Im going through the RN program at MedTech and they are doing basically the same thing. so give the more

To All of the Students who Posted Regading Med Tech College 2/19/2009

Med Tech College is relatively new to our city. I am a Nursing Instructor at a popular local University, and I wanted to find out more about Med Tech. I hear from so many people regarding the difficulty experienced at trying to gain acceptance into a 2 or 4year RN program, I thought I would do some checking to see what else is available for those who are still waiting on acceptance to a traditional University. I was very surprised to view so many negative comments about Med Tech., however I would like to point out a few things to those who may be reading these comments. 1. Just by reading the comments, it was immediately obvious as to why some of these students were not accepted elsewhere. The spelling and grammar in their posting was pathetic. If people want to be taken seriously, and respected, I would consider utilizing spell check prior to posting comments. Hence there are good reasons why the prerequisite classes are required at traditional schools. Proper English is important!2. more

know anything about Pharmacy Tech training here?? 2/5/2009

I contacted this school regarding their pharmacy tech classes. I am not looking to transfer credits, been out of school many years. I am looking for a career change and this is one of my interests. I understand the class is only 4 weeks, meeting only once per week but I was told I will get what I need to get a job as a pharmacy tech. Has anyone been through this course? I am looking at Greenwood, In location. Thanks!! more

This School LIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"world class liers!!!!!" 1/6/2009

I recently got "accepted" into the school, mind you anybody with an IQ of a a gold fish would be also.It is not worth time at alI!! I got out asap the only reason I didnt go was because my living arrangements didnt go through, but on the other hand once I found out I couldnt move I quickly had to find another school to attend because of the set back....IVY TECH... they pulled up that Med Tech IS NOT ACCREDITED!!!!They lie very well with those ear to ear smiles just to get your money.Around the time the school set orientation I dug up so much dirt about the "CERTIFIED LICENSE" we would receive as PN's the lady shunned me and made me wait till after everyone was gone to answer the questions about the credits and how we would be certified. That is shady business.I called the very first day of school and told them to withdraw me so that my loans and grant money would not be used at all. Dont ruin your life you will regret it especially in the medical field you want top training and proof of more

THINK HARD BEFORE YOU DECIDE!!! 1/5/2009

THIS SCHOOL SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO OPERATE !!!This is not a good school to go to for any skills necessary for the job you want in the Medical professions. You will probably get what you need to practice safely if you already have been a CNA, Home Health Aide, Care Partner or other assistant in a medical facility---or have already been given fundalmental instruction at another nursing program. If you have not already gotten this instruction, you will not get it in the Fundalmentals Lab--because there isn't one. The instructor who teaches Fundamentals and other courses reads to you from the book. This takes up all of the time which could be used for a Laboratory to teach you the necessary skills. The one graduate who got a job at VA Hospital was probably one of the lucky ones who got to go there for some of their clinical experience. Speaking of clinical experience--in some areas we did not have any clinical experience in the nursing area we were supposed to be learning. The administra more

beware 12/30/2008

I am a nursing graduate from med tech. There has been many issues throughout my time spent at the school. The one thing that stands out is the fact that many facilities are not allowing the students to work for them. Recently Clarian informed one of my former classmates that we cannot work for any of the clarian sites until the school is accredited. Seeing as national accreditation takes up to 10 years to achieve, I guess any future I may have with the Clarian network is not going to happen. If you are dreaming of a career in the geriatric field then MedTech is the place for you. Otherwise, please take your time and money elsewhere. more

DO NOT GO TO MEDTECH!! 12/29/2008

Please do not waste your time. I was enrolled in the LPN program and did graduate but am still waiting on my paper work to take my boards. The staff told us a date that it would be ready and now they just dont know when it will be done. I need to get a job but can't go very far without my license so i need my paper work. The rules are bent for some people and some they are enforced strickly. They even held back people for being 20 minutes late, just so they can get more money from you. Yes, I will get my degree out of it but I would say it is the worst judgement call in my life to go there. Nothing is consistent and they treat you like you're in high school. Your grades are a secret and to try and talk to anyone about anything is almost impossible. In my exit interview when they asked if I would recommend this school to anyone I said NO! I had about 2 good teachers there and the rest were awful. The staff is rude and talk down to you like your idiots. And the receptionist thinks she ha more

Watch What You Say On Here, PLS! 12/19/2008

I just got done with the PN program at MedTech, yeah the school sucks. Miss Broadus & Mr. Leblanc are hideous, especially Mr. Leblanc, he's a self righteous creep! But, I see people saying on here that they will accept anyone, that's a LIE. The same test is administered upon admission, that is administered at the other schools. I got in, and I'm nobody's idiot, I'm smart as hell! So if you feel as if you only got in because you are stupid, then maybe YOU are. Yes they suck, and yes they are money hungry, and that's all they give a crap about is the money, but don't insult my intelligence, PLEASE! I will be going on for my RN after a year, and I WILL succeed in that program, and it will NOT(most definitely not) be MedTech! Why will I succeed? Because I AM highly intelligent, and it doesn't have a darn thing to do with MedTech! Its all about you. Doctors and lawyers are produced in public schools, as well as private schools, it's because of the individual's achievements, not what school more

Medtech lies 12/8/2008

I attended medtech for the phlebotomy program, and immediatly found employment doing such, however...before you commit to a training field, do your research on the pay ,benefits etc.. if you can't do that, then you probably shouldn't be in college. Now on to Medtech...the school is accredited to accept financial aid from the state and federal government, BUT IS NOT a college where you earn credits, thus if you plan to go elsewhere you are screwed as there is no credits to transfer. Also, they do not check to see if you graduated high school or have a GED. The short term classes are for skills such as mine that require no state certification. The nursing program will allow you to sit for the state exam..BUT YOU WILL NOT have a degree,as they DO NOT ISSUE CREDITS!! You get a cheap certificate that says you pass THIER standards, NOT those designated by the STATE nursing board. This is a good place to go for the short term (4 week classes) to train in phlebotomy etc.. but nothing else. They more

MTC 11/11/2008

I enjoyed mTC. good school with nice people. would recommend it. I think college is important. eveyone should go to school and be able to learn what they want to learn. more

Having a great time at MedTech 10/30/2008

I was referred to MedTech by a previous graduate who currently working at the VA Hospital. While it has been challenging because I had to rearrange my schedule and lifestyle, I have found it to be worth it. I would reccomend MedTech to anyone. more

Would not recommend going to Med Tech College! 9/30/2008

1st... It is definitely over priced to be a junior college. The teacher turnover rate is horrendous!!! I had 3 teachers in one quarter for the same, and that is very frustrating. If you have money left over from financial aid, administration will give you the run around in getting a refund to you. Med Tech does not do a good job in helping people finding a job in their fields, in fact I received no help at all! I have been out of school since June '08 and still have yet to get a job as a biller/coder, I keep getting offers for front office or data entry positions that pay less than what I was making before going to Med Tech. The career services dep. have the nerve to call your house asking for information about your new job, as if they helped you find the job in the first place? Please look around at other colleges, before going to Med Tech. Oh yeah, the school has a lot of unprofessional students that attend there and that makes it hard to concentrate on your studies.... It is a JOKE more

Curious 8/22/2008

To the poster who mentioned going to another community collage...\r I think I may be in the same situation. My question is, did you end up enrolling with Med Tech and if you did, how is it going? How did you do at the other community collage with the assesment test more

MED TECH 8/20/2008

Med tech is a joke. It is over priced and they do what they want. Rules are only for certain people and if they don't like you then the rules are subject to change at the drop of a hat.I would not recommend this school for anyone anywhere! If you want to talk to someone there they give you the run around.Make sure you check them out closely before signing up for any classes here! more

Had a great meeting today with Admissions Counselor 5/12/2008

I was very impressed visiting MedTech in Greenwood today. The Admissions Counselor was very knowledgable and helpful in explaining the school and the process. I am concerned about some of the posts regarding credits transferring and plan on checking into further, but am having a hard time believing this since it is listed as a Nationally Accredited school. It was also explained to me that some of the other Jr. Colleges are cheaper by credit hour, but the length of time on non-core classes is more vast, thus the program is longer. This would make the charges work out to be the same as MedTech, would probably make MedTech even more affordable. more

Organized/Structured Program 5/7/2008

I am really impressed with the admissions process and the entire Nursing program. I have been taking classes for years trying to get into a nursing program (at another local community college)...and this is the first time that I feel that I will actually graduate. There are no pre-req or "unnecessary" classes. It's right to the point. I am really pleased! more

MedTech=medical training! 4/21/2008

I have actually been very satisfied with the training I am receiving. Yes, there is some instructor turnover...but that happened at the other schools I have attended. Programs are dedicated to solely medical careers! Instructors are medical professionals. more
