Best

I am currently an RN student at medtech college and I absolutely love it there... The instructors are amazing and they all want to see you succeed... I would most def recommend me...

Worst

I went there because I was not accepted into Ivytech's nursing program, even as an honor roll student. I heard Medtech was a new, for-profit(so very expensive) school, but if I co...

Med Tech 4/25/2010

I would like to talk about these post that I read tonight. Number 1 Medtech is a great school, yes there are some teachers that you might not see eye to eye on but its only for 12 weeks. Number 2 yes graduates are having trouble getting on to hospitals like clarion, community, etc. But not all hospitals are like that, it comes down to them wanting to give priority to schools that contribute to them. Number 3 I read a comment from a so called instructor from another state who talked about MTC not requiring pre req classes. No MTC doesnt require them, that is because its built into the schedule so it doesnt take you 3 years to complete your degree. Most programs in the area require that you take a math, A and P 1 and 2 which would take you two semesters and english comp.Ive been at this school for 3 quarters and have found my experience to be pretty decent, its not always fun but we are working toward a goal. more

Hmmmmmmm 4/19/2010

As an nurse holding an MSN but starting as Medical Assistant then graduating from both an ASN the BSN program I have experienced all kinds of faculty and programs. For anyone to think nursing is an 'walk through' program at any institution is not being realistic. You will only get out of ANY program what you put into it. Everyone pays for their education wheather it be non or for profit. It is your CHOICE what program to apply and hopefully attend. We all have our own stories we bring and I am sure going to school as an adult is not easy for anyone. \r What concerns me about reading these reviews is I am hoping to teach at MedTech but with students who want to be spoon fed..... get over it - your an adult in an adult world! more

greenwood student 3/27/2010

This will be my 4th quarter at the Greenwood campus. I dont have anything bad to say about greenwood campus. Anywhere you go you will have issues. Over all I think it is a good school. You people that are complaining over the small stuff maybe you need to look at yourself. Maybe its you and not the school. more

MedTech College - Greenwood 3/4/2010

First off i have been going to MTC in Greenwood for 4 qtrs...Ive come to realize that the school has come a loooong way.i have been on the deans list every qtr and had perfect attendance 3 of the 4 qtrs.i believe the school is turning around for the better, mostly because of the new administration we've acquired recently.Ive never found the admin. to be rude or disrespectful what so ever. Ive come to be grateful for the financial aid because the few they have in there now know what they are doing.Ive liked all of my teachers. the phlebotomy teacher is amazing and if you haven't been able to have her yet, you'll love her!! don't get me wrong there are those few and far between that were a nightmare, but that's why they aren't there now. i cant say that i dislike the school. now some of the students that attend do make it difficult to stay concentrated to our work, especially when they come in there with an altered state of mind and get sick, then expect no one to know why, and feel sorr more

Student 3/4/2010

I currently attend the Greenwood campus and I must say I am happy with my personal experience. No one is ever completely satisfied with EVERY aspect of anything. We are all entitled to our own opinions. From my point of view...On a daily basis I watch students deliberately break rules, disrespect the instructors and other students, and disrupt class. I sit in amazement at the maturity level and attitudes of some classmates. I can say the campus has improved ALOT since I started and I believe faculty is working hard to address concerns. I chose to return to school to get a degree in a field that would provide job stability and MedTech was the right choice for me. I think the biggest thing hurting the school is the students. NEVER SATISFIED WITH ANYTHING! This is college, time to act like adults and realize that when you whine, complain and bring the negative attitudes each and every day, you're not only affecting your own education...you're affecting mine! I feel that alot of instructo more

Pharmarcy Tech Indpls program?? 2/21/2010

Wow !!!!!\r I was looking forward to applying at the Greenwood Campus for the Pharmacy Cert. Sounds like I need to talk to the Indianapolis Campus. They did not get slammed as much as Greenwood. ( which is to bad because, I live closer to that facility) But, not really sure what or where to go. If anyone has attended this campus, please respond. Thank you more

DO NOT GO TO GREENWOOD YOU WILL REGRET IT!!! 1/30/2010

GREENWOOD campus- 0 stars\r INDIANAPOLIS campus - 5 stars\r \r Ok So I have the scoop on both schools Greenwood and Indy's MedTech. I went to both. I only have 7 weeks left of class then I'm done with my degree in Medical Assisting. I started out at Greenwood... All I can say is BAD! I switched for a reason. It truely is a joke there. All of the teachers are terrible with the exception of 2. My clincals teacher couldnt even pronounce "virus". COME ON! I seriously think they hire the teachers off the street! The biggest problem is that their MA program IS NOT... I repeat IS NOT accredited!!! Dont listen to the posts earlier. When I signed up they brought me in to talk about the school and they told me how it was accredited and why that is important. Turns out 4 days after classes start they make everyone sign a paper stating that we understand that the MA program is not accredited and CAN NOT take the CMA exam after you graduate. I was pissed and eventually switched but greenwood made it more

MedTech is good... 1/10/2010

I am currently in my fifth quarter for RN at the Greenwood campus and I feel I have to stick up for this institution. I will say that at first our experience was chaotic but they worked extremely hard to correct the problems. My professors are professional, educated and honestly care about us as people and our future as nurses. I have learned a ton and I come from a background with no medical education. I will also say that Medtech not being NLN accredited has been a nerve wracking for us, but we feel comfortable that we will get it. The NLN will be visiting us in March 2010, and as I understand it will determine that then. Medtech has been working really hard to get everything together for that. As for it being "ghetto"... some of the students are definately "ghetto", but you cant really list that as a con because you will have that at any school and the definition of 'ghetto' is really subject to personal opinion. The staff is professional. This school will get you where you want to more

Medical Laboratory Technician? 1/8/2010

Has anyone taken this major? I am debating on this because unfortunately where I live (Fort Wayne, IN) there is no schools for Medical Laboratory techician that isn't 2 hrs away. I would like to know if anyone has experience in this field with MedTech or if it is even worth it. Will an Associate degree from MedTech be acknowledged in the Medical field? Is it worth the cost? more

Current Student of MedTech.... 12/6/2009

Some people that have negative comments about MedTech are people that actually know what they are talking about. I am a current student of the Indianapolis campus and I am getting a little disappointed at how unprofessional the faculty can be. I am really considering attending another college actually. I am making straight A's in all my classes and I carry myself very well in school. Some of the negative comments made about this college are true and some are false. I keep to myself and I don't "act a fool". I sit back and I just look and listen to how some of these people act and it's disappointing. A teacher will talk about her personal life for half an hour before we finally get to take our test, there IS favoritism shown towards other students from teachers, people talk during tests and NOTHING is said, simply because they are "teacher's pets", etc. Some students act really immature and I have actually seen students argue and get loud with one another in class and NOTHING is said by more

I'm almost done! 11/12/2009

I really like Medtech. I attend at the Greenwood campus. I have been here for almost 4 semesters. We just got new space and it is very nice. The school feels less crowded and I am so happy with the teachers I currently have. They are making learning fun again. The first semester I started, school was a rough transition. I was not used to studying and balancing my school, work, and family. I finally feel like I am getting in the groove of things. I am glad I started and stuck with it. Only 2 more semesters to go. more

New Faculty 11/3/2009

As a nursing student at MedTech, I am very busy with class work of course. I am concerned about some the the faculty and the turnover rate. There are several new faculty again this semester. Some good, some not so good. Has anyone had any experience with Mrs. Williams? I heard her style is sort of harsh. Any comments? more

Cost ? 9/18/2009

I'm interested in pursuing a nursing career...Can someone tell me the cost of the PN and RN programs at MedTech Fort Wayne campus. Thanks........................................................................................................................................................ more

Medtech College is ok. 9/4/2009

I was an instructor at Medtech a little over a year ago at the Indianapolis campus. It was a mix of good and bad. The big problem was that it is a meat grinder, just get 'em enrolled, get their money, and plop the students in to class. Some students require prep work, a couple of weeks to catch up on things before joining the regular classes. So, again, get yourself ready first if your a "rusty" student, and you might do ok at Medtech. more

Not everyone has to like Medtech and feel like everyone else 9/2/2009

It seems like if a person has a bad experience and shares it, others seem to be irritated by it. Not everyone is going to like Medtech and feel as if their experience is good. I am also tired of hearing that you may have a boss that you don't like. If I have a boss I don't like, I get a paycheck and have the choice of getting a different job. I'm paying 900 dollars to attend the class and if the teacher is not qualified to teach, he/she should not be there. I'm paying Medtech for a service and I should get my money's worth. I graduate in April 10 and I have liked the college. I have had a problem with the notorius teacher at Greenwood but overall I like the school. I believe everyone has a right to their opinion. more

Medtech College is what you make it. 8/28/2009

I would have to agree with Anon P. THIS IS COLLEGE! I am half way through the RN program at the Indianapolis campus and overall I have had nothing but a great experience. Sure, there are some teachers that I might not see exactly eye to eye with but that is what makes us all unique individuals. Teachers will have their own styles of teaching as we students will have our own styles of learning. At the end of the day, it is about studying hard, paying attention in class and eventually getting my license. I am here for one reason: to become the best nuurse I can be. I don't have time to get caught up in any negativity coming from "whiny" students. Rules are rules and I understand why they are put into place. We are going to be future medical professionals and the places we work will probably have even more rules and regulations that will be enforced. Last, I would like to thank MedTech for this opportunity. Before I learned about MedTech I was on a waitlist for 2 years not know more

Medtech College needs students that don't whine! 8/27/2009

Wow. Impressive. You can write the word "Douche" in a review of a college. Then, you expect other people to come to this site and take what you wrote seriously? If you want your comments to be heard, write something constructive. I am almost finish with the nursing program (RN) at Medtech. Let me list the good and the bad. Good: Most of my teachers. You will never like all your teachers or all your bosses but I have learned so much more than I ever thought possible. I really enjoyed the pace of the program. It went by fast. Lastly, I don't know about you, but I am ready for my boards when they happen. Look up the pass rates at other local schools. Then stop complaining that you're at Medtech. Bad: other students acting ridiculously immature. Sadly, Medtech is not as descrimnatory as schools like IU or U of I. They give everyone a shot to get an education. This means good students like myself have to sit in class with a bunch of whiners. I sit in class with people who d more

Mr Leblanc 8/22/2009

Mr. Leblanc is a douche. Check him out on the nurse registry! Hes only been RN since 02 and no field work just office. THis is who is teaching clinicals? more

Too much bad juju 8/19/2009

First off to all the grads of Medtech, congrats. You couldnt have gotten where you are without working hard. I'm a current student at Medtech Greenwood. I do believe alot of the negative comments on here are from students who like to stir the pot, and who aren't happy without some kind of drama in their life. However, some of the things that are going on should be acknowledged and fixed ASAP. When you fire an instructor because they have to much on their plate, don't hire one to replace them that is a mirror image. As for the scheduling, don't piss and moan when you screw up a persons schedule and then have to fix it. I have heard first hand some of the problems some of the students are having with the scheduling and it's ridiculous. However, some people should realize they are there to get an education. This is college, it's going to be tough, there's going to be alot of homework, and you are going to have to study even when you never had to before. If you have a problem wit more

Drama! 8/19/2009

This is to funny! I am sitting in our computer lab reading these comments. I like the comment about go to harrison college and then the website is listed at the bottom. I wonder did someone from that school write it? I have been at this school for almost 2 quarters. I have not had any problems like this. I know the schools dean left but not the way all these comments say!!!! Holy cow! Put a bunch of ladies in a school together and watch the rumors start. more
