Best

I am currently an RN student at medtech college and I absolutely love it there... The instructors are amazing and they all want to see you succeed... I would most def recommend me...

Worst

I went there because I was not accepted into Ivytech's nursing program, even as an honor roll student. I heard Medtech was a new, for-profit(so very expensive) school, but if I co...

Medical Assistant 4/20/2011

I graduated from Med Tech in 2007 as Medical Assistant; my extership was not related to what I went to school for - very, very disappointed!! MedTech is also very very expensive!! Believe me, Pam - the "Assistant Director" (was back in 2007) is in reality co-owner and drives a convertable mercedes - so ya know, someone has to pay for that!!!! That school is in it for the money and they deep down don't care about the students - I've been there and done that and won't do it again nor recommend this school to anyone - please listen - don't attend MedTech!!!!!!!!!!! There are plenty more better schools that are cheaper and better than MedTech!!! more

Worthless Phlebotomy course 4/2/2011

I just completed the phlebotomy class on 3/26/2011. Ninety percent of the 20 class members were unhappy with the training. We went to the Indianapolis location. The "teachers" were unorganized and spent hours away from the class making copies of lessons(they were in the book) to hand out each class. A typical day was to begin at 9am. But all attendees were not there, so we began around 9:30. Then at 10:30 we had 20 min break. It was really for the main teacher to smoke. Then back again and off to lunch for 45 mins or hour at 12:30pm. Then a break at 2pm. Smoking? Then we will let you leave early at 2:30 or 3pm when the class was scheduled from 9 to 3:30pm, We only had 4 total classes and didn't have the required sticks until the last day after the final. My arm was poked so many times, I am still concerned about the large bruise and pitichia on it. It is very sore. The assistant told some students that we can't get a job with this class. We have to take another class more

Medtech Greenwood RN speaks out. 3/29/2011

I am a graduate of MTC-Greenwood. I just want to share my experience. I attended the RN program. Yes it is expensive. No they are not NLN at the moment. They are in canadicy. Even w/o NLN behind the institution I attended, I still make great money. I have been accepted to WGUs RN to MSN program. I will still get a BSN along the way. I enjoyed my time in nursing school. I gained lifetime friends and family as we pulled together and cheered one another along during times of discontinent and frustration. We had a great graduate class trip. Your experience will depend on your attitude and determination. Keep your focus and remember why you are there. Do not get sucked into the negativity. No its not like attending Butler or IU. But you will be finished before you can blink and making good money. You will come out with the knowledge you need to be a working nurse NOW! At least three people I graduated with work in major hospitals. You simply apply to hospitals that aren't applying for ma more

RUN from INDY!!!!!!! 3/7/2011

I had an appointment to meet with a academic advisor at the Indy location. So I arrived early (not really knowing where I was going) and looked around before I went to my appointment. Many of the students that I came across were Rude/Disrespectful/Loud! I was standing in line for the elevator and during the wait for the elevator others were trying to pass through the hall, the students would just stand there and ignore them, or get an attitude because someone needed to get through. Half of them look sloppy and unprofessional. I didn't even want to show up to my appointment. Why would I want to be in class with students like this? And who on earth would want them as their Medical Assistant? Good luck finding a job! I've heard good things about the Greenwood campus, I think I'll try them instead. more

Nursing Student disappointed 2/12/2011

Ft. Wayne campus has a lot of work to do. As a recent graduate in their RN program, some of the teachers need fired. I feel most of the teachers did not prepare our class for NCLEX. The result of this is bad. Right not the passing rate is VERY POOR. It can be a good program if they get the right staff. Don't get me wrong MedTech of Ft. Wayne has some quality teachers but they need more quality teachers in the core nursing classes. The teachers need to be more dedicated and teach from their own notes and powerpoints! more

Do your homework 1/26/2011

This 43 year old has been debating going to school for nursing in Indiana. I came across Medtech's website and gave it some thought. I seen these reviews and come on people don't hate, and just do your homework. It took me thirty seconds to google INDIANA PROFESSIONAL LICENSING AGENCY and look up schools that are FULLY ACCREDITED BY THE STATE OF INDIANA. If Medtech of Greenwood, IN is telling you they are FULLY ACCREDITED BY THE STATE, it is a lie. Their current status is: Initial Accreditation. It seems their Indianapolis campus is fully accredited. more

I love MedTech:) 1/15/2011

I've had a great experience at Medtech. I've been to the Greenwood campus and the Indianapolis campus and I liked them both. You have to put effort into learning the material, you can't just expect the instructors to spoon feed you the info. All the instructors I've had really care about making sure you not only know the information but that you understand it also. more

I love Medtech College 11/16/2010

I have been out of school for 25+ years. I went in nervous if I could pull this off. This is college and you only get out of what you put in it! what people are complaining about is they want all the answers given to them, just because the teacher might not know a answer the book is in front of you and there a thing called google! I have a close friend that has spent 4 years at Hanover College and the professors expect you to do all the research, and that's why my friend spent countless hours in the library and graduated 4.0 top of class. It takes work on your behalf I'm in my third qrt. and I love it. I work 70+ hours a week and still find time to do my assignments. I look forward each day attending class because I always come home knowing something new!\r \r as far as promises made at recruitment, It is a business, wake up and smell the roses it's called life. You have a choice to stay or leave but not everyone is going to have the same experience as you. Life is made up of choices a more

MEDTECH (Indy) IS A JOKE!!!! 11/12/2010

PLEASE do your research about this school! I am a recent graduate, and overall I have had a negative experience with the school. They told nothing but lies at the information session. The teacher turnover rate is ridiculous! In a number of classes, there were no instructors for weeks at a time. I am talking like 2 or 3 weeks! Not only teachers, the staff in general. In addition, the so-called "rules" of the school were never enforced! Everyone does what they want, including teachers and staff. One teacher in particular spent about 20 minutes of added up class time outside taking a "smoke break". The class times are very limited, due to the shortage of teachers. The financial aid department is ALWAYS making up "rules" about what the students are allowed to do with their own money. So please save yourself the time and drama and do your research first. I wish I would have. more

mwhite 10/29/2010

I graduated from medtech March 2010 and two months later I was living my dream of being a nurse! I enjoyed my time at medtech. It was probably the hardest and most rewarding thing that I have ever done. If being a nurse is what you really want to do with your life..if it is your calling medtech can make that dream come true for you. \r \r I went to the indy campus and we had a lot of issues going on, but I knew what I was there for and it wasn't going to stop me. I studied and did the work and learned what I needed and guess what it was worth every single penny that I spent. This is just my opinion, but I know alot of the failures from my class who will say oh, medtech is this that or the other but if they really wanted and needed to be a nurse they would be a nurse today just like I am and all the other's from my class who graduated and passed our boards within months of graduating. Check the stats medtech graduates nurses. You can't deny that. more

IF YOUR NOT SURE ABOUT MEDTECH 9/30/2010

I attended medtech college in July of 2009 and i loved it, the campus i attended was the indianapolis campus. I went to school mon-fri i was going for medical assisting, now grant you i graduated high school in May 2009 and i know whats its like to have to deal with teachers who dont like you or some of your fellow class mates. Long story short I was considered 3/4 time enrolled i ABSOLUTELY loved my A+P and my medical terminology teacher, but i could not stand my computer teacher. with that being said i took it out on the school saying it was there fault and blah blah blah like some of the rest of you were saying. but i actually left after that quarter and i'm just now going back this time for my RN. so if that dont tell you that it's a good school after leaving and over a year later wanting to go back i dont know what will its not the school per say its really how well you handle yourself. going into it now i'm excited cause i know that there are so many people that are willing to he more

edf 7/8/2010

I am in my final quarter. I go to the Greenwood campus. I have had no problem with this campus. The NLN accreditation not only is on the school it is also the graduating Nurses to make this happen. There has to be a certain percentage of graduates to pass the NCLEX. So just remember we as students have to help the school get their accreditation by passing the NCLEX more

Disappointed! 7/8/2010

I am in my last quarter at MedTech and I have not had any problems up until now. The last quarter is devoted to an externship, which allows the student an opportunity to gain hands on experience in the field. The staff made promises in the beginning to place students in reliable externship sites. I was also told, that if I had any problems regarding my site that my problems would be addressed and resolved. However, I have yet to see any improvement after numerous complaints about where I was placed. I am extremely disappointed with the career services department! This is my only chance to gain hands on experience before I am out in the field, and I have been let down. I did not take out student loans for this! If you are interested in attending this school, think twice! I wish that I would have researched a little more before attending! more

Truth 6/13/2010

ALL schools are for profit. State funded schools are loosing their funding thanks to Mitch. Quality still matters over quantity. Take advantage of bypassing the other nursing school waitlist. Yes- it is expensive. That said- you still have to bust your butt and act like an adult.\r \r I was an nursing instructor there. I was fired for alledgely beiing inebreated during lecture and urinating on myself.I am a masters prepared nurse with 28 years at the bedside. I WANT STUDENTS TO SUCCEED. i am disgusted more

student 6/5/2010

i just graduated from the medical assistant program and it was a great program i am working in cardiac surgery making great money and they prepared me for all that i do i am going back in the fall to get my RN there are many people at the school who feel that all the information should be spoon feed to them and that is not how the real world works if you work for something you will obtain it i worked hard and have an excellent job now and will be an OR nurse soon!! and as for Harrison college it is a diploma program not a degree program and i just recieved my CMA so yes they are accredited! more

I am enrolled at the MedTech in Fort Wayne. I'm almost done with my first quater. First off, I love this college!!! Before i decided to go to MedTech i called 2 hospitals and talked to their HR and asked them what they thought of MedTech. They all said they hear good things and they have former students who work there. I also called a private practice and they said the same thing! Everybody has a different experience. I recommend this school to everyone i know!!!! more

FW Nursing 5/25/2010

I have been in the Fort Wayne program, we are the first RN class. We have had our program changed 3 times now. Today, we found out the class behind us is graduating with us, 3 months early, but they can't do anything for us. Oh, and by the way, your tuition is going up for the last 6 months and you have to pay for a class that the class behind you is getting for free. How is all of this legal? I just want to be done. more
