Moorea is awesome party and great dj 4/3/2011

With a name like Mandalay Bay you expect that water would be one of the key attractions. And with amenities like an aquarium and a sand-beach wave pool, the hotel lives up to its name. But almost hidden in all the excitement is Moorea Beach Club. For Bottle Service, Cabanas, Daybeds, Front of Line VIP Entry, Guestlist, please contact Nocturnal Vegas VIP by call/text 702 587 2456 more

RM Seafood ROCKS 10/20/2010

We ate downstairs where it was more casual, but you have got to go. Server gave us a whole education on sustainable seafood too. It was awesome. Try the shrimp! more

OMG - WTF??? 10/1/2010

Simply awful. I have had the opportunity to entertain a lot of business clients over the years and this place just plainly sucked. I would say the service was snail-like, but that would be a disservice to the snail. Wasn't quite sure they had any employees still working in the restaurant at one point. \r \r When the food arrived, my business guests laughed out loud. Maybe they had just remembered the punch line for a joke, but more likely they were astonished at the presentation. Needless to say, when I wanted to impress my clients, I didn't want to do so with them laughing at the meal. Very embarrassing.\r \r Oh, and did I mention that I was jacked around with my reservation? - even though I made it 3 weeks in advance? What is up with these folks? No customer service, but plenty of lip service. I wanted to punch the nearest waiter after three hours into this dreadful four hour ordeal. \r \r How in the world do these folks stay in business? I would not go back on a bet. Simply more

Wouldn't eat here on a bet 9/30/2010

Wow, what a disaster of a restaurant. After making my reservation 3 weeks in advance, get a last minute phone call from the twerpy hostess telling me I had to move my time, causing me to notify a lot of my dinner guests. After being seated in the crappiest table in the restaurant and after repeatedly asking for another table, it just took $20 to have another table magically appear. more

Top Chef Master makes good 8/13/2010

Like many restaurants at Mandalay Bay, RM Seafood is hard to find. Once you get there, though, you'll find it's worth the trek. Among the appetizers, we enjoyed the fried calamari and the raw oyster sampler. The ""moon doggies"" (Top Chef Masters challenge winner) were somewhat gamey, yet still savory and palatable. For entrees, I had the breaded swordfish, which was moist and delicate, and for sides the BBQ mac & cheese is a must. Considering the inevitable letdown that comes from visiting most celebrity chef establishments, RM Seafood stands tall above the TV Personality crowd. more

Disappointed 7/21/2010

I expected more based upon Chef Keller's reputation. We ordered the chef's tasting menu (chef makes the selections of a five course meal) and were pleased with the opening course of Ahi Tuna Tartare served over fennel slaw. Unfortunantely, the second course was a truffled onion soup, which although delicious, was far too heavy and filling for a tasting menu. The third couse was a fish dish given a fancy Japanese name, but tasting much like skate wing, now popular again at east coast restaurants. Next came Chef Keller's signature dish of braised veal and yukon gold potato ravioli. While interesting, we found it served with an overpowering sauce that masked all of the other flavors of the dish. The entre was a Lamb tederloin, slightly overcooked, but which I would order over and over again (if served medium rare instead of medium). Lastly came dessert, a chocolate souflee baked to perfection and beautifully served. For the price I would have expected white glove service and an experienced wait staff. I found neither during our evening (July 10) at the restaurant. If Chef Keller were present, and if he took on the personality of Gordon Ramsey, he would have screamed for the customers to get out, and he would have closed the doors for the night. If you need a local comparison of what was missing by way of service, a competent wait staff can be found at Carnevino at the Palazzo. Chef, I've been to Charlie Trotter's in Chicago, Daniel's in NYC...I was embarassed for you. Your food was good, it should have been spectacular.\r \r more

Beautiful Suites 7/19/2010

This place is gorgeous. There is a great view from nearly every room. Rooms are spacious, with large living areas and large bed and bath rooms. Rooms are a little on the high side, but they are beautiful and great for a special event. more

Been there over ten times. Looking forward to going again. 3/20/2010

Revisited the China Grill last weekend during a trip to Las Vegas. We tried the 'new" Sampling Menu. It's a little pricey at $72.00 per person but soooo worth it. The food again comes in family style servings. Way to much food to eat with a total of six dishes. \r \r The sampling menu gave me the opportunity to try different dishes as I normally end up ordering the same thing most times. The Cesar Salad rocked. It has cashews and crisp won tons instead of croutons. It's my new favorite salad and going to make it for the next time I entertain!\r \r I still love the China Grill. Kudos also to the lychee mojitos. more

excellent summer vacation under the Vegas sun 2/3/2010

The wave pool was so huge it was never crowded even though there were tons of people in there. The waves were gentle enough to enjoy and so refreshing. The wave pool was a bit crowded but fun to do with kids. Make sure you bring your own inner tube or you will have to buy one for $24! There were always seats available to find in short order so we didn't have to walk around the whole pool complex to find seats. My only complaint would have to say the bar put just a tiny squirt of alcohol in my frozen daiquiri - not even enough for a shot like we get back home! Anyway, the pool was incredible. \r \r Also the room we got was amazing - ordered off Expedia with no special request but it was a gem. Very clean and quiet hallway, floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the strip - lovely view! No line for check-in - we were ready to go to our room in less than 10 minutes. Staff was helpful and friendly everywhere in this hotel. Very nice cab area as well - friendly guys directing you to even friendlier and helpful cabbies. Also the Shark Reef Aquarium is a must-see, especially if you have kids. Make sure you keep the picture they take at the beginning of the tour. Great memories! A must-stay for anyone. Also very convenient walk to the free tram that takes you to Luxor, Excalibur, NYNY, and MGM. We also took a leisurely walk to Luxor across the street several days under the beautiful sun - it was a blessing and wonderful. We are going back there in 2010 for sure! Pros: fabulous, clean pool area Cons: sand a little hot but just have to wear flip flops more
