So, I've been going here, on and off, for about 8 years now. When it's empty, it can be quite a delightful place to be. They have a decent ""gastropub-eqsue"" burger. However, when the dragon's den is teeming with yuppies and beerheads, there's no place on Earth I'd rather NOT be (except maybe the Apple store; an experience I'd forfeit for a brain stroke any day).
To their credit, the beer selection exceeds most people expectations, and their fries are second to none. However, when you've been waiting at the bar for fifteen minutes, in a sea of people, unrecognized by the bar steward, and some random ""regular"" customer walks in and gets a pint poured before his second foot enters the door, you feel like stabbing the barkeep. I hate nothing more than a bar that regards favoritism as a trademark. If you aren't on a first-name basis at this place, don't go when it is busy - you WILL regret it.
With the introduction of a second Father's Office in Culver City, there IS hope for a decent experience during the evening. I've yet to go to find out. I refuse to return to this place during busy hours unless it's on someone else's tab and I don't have to brave the brutish crowd of drunks to get a proper pint.
Be advised: if you DO go during a crowded time and insist on a pint or two, get a pitcher, so you don't have to return to the bar for a while.
Pros: Amazing fries, good beer selection
Cons: Horrible service, long lines, limited parking
