So many people were talking about the burger here that I just had to try it. And now I can hardly stay away. At $12 bucks a pop and around $6-8 for a beer, this isn't a cheap meal, but if you're craving a good burger or are taking a friend out from out of town, this is a great place. It can get incredibly packed at night, and even after they let you in (and take your order, and bring your food), you're likely to find yourself standing in the middle of the crowd, table-less, juggling an eight dollar Chimay and a mini-shopping cart full of sweet potato fries. I've found that the best time to come is on the weekend for lunch. It's still nice and lively, but you can actually participate in conversation over the din and getting a table only requires a little bit of a wait. Last time I was there we split a burger and cart of the sweet potato fries (some of the best I've ever had with bleu cheese dipping sauce!) and each had a beer and we were stuffed by the end. The burger is not that big, but it's best enjoyed slowly, and the HUGE portion of fries will fill you up fast. I've also had the beet salad which was very nice, but I don't know if I could come here and not have the burger!
I also love that they have my favorite beer (Hitachino White Nest Ale) as well as a good selection of other white ales here, a rarity in L.A. The barstaff are very helpful and will give samples of beers to inexperienced drinkers, too.
Pros: Best Burger, Beer Selection, Sweet Potato Fries
Cons: Pricey Burger, Crowded
