Best

5 of us had five different beers and each of us had the same burger. 5 for 5 on both so I give this place 20 stars. the beer selection is astounding, even for a beer nut like ...

Worst

It's not bad, but not what I'd expected. I went there because my girl friend chose the place and wanted to try it out, and to be honest, I wouldn't go on my own or invite someone ...

Great burger if you can find a place to eat it 11/5/2006

I thought the burgers here were fantastic, and they had a great selection of beers to go with, but on a Friday evening, I think I would go somewhere else. It took ages to get a seat (our burgers were already in our hands) and when we finally did sit down, the people that were waiting for seats were practically sitting in our laps. Maybe a weekday night instead? Pros: Great food, great beer Cons: All the people, small spot. more

Seriously, the best burger in LA. 10/25/2006

This place is fantastic. The burger is amazing, just keep in mind that it is of the gourmet variety, so comparing it to in & out is truly apples and oranges. Great beer selection to boot. more

My favorite burger 10/23/2006

I have tried a couple of burgers in LA, and this so far has been my favorite. I love the burger and sauce they put on it. The fries come with a delicious garlic sauce. The beer selection is so amazing that sometimes you can't figure out what to get. The room is small, and PACKED. I guess the secret's out about this place. But, that is a drawback to it. Pros: BURGERS, BEER SELECTION Cons: Crowded and Small more

Great food, horrible seating arrangement 10/8/2006

Their burger and sweet potato fries are unbelievably delicious, however the fact that there is no waiting list, no hostess, and no reservations, are the reasons I did not give this place a 10. Here, there is no such thing as ""first come, first served."" You have to hover around a table while people are still eating and have to practically jump on their seat before they even stand up in order to get a table. Even though you might have been waiting there first, the table essentially goes to the person who sits on the seat first. I hate this idea of going someplace to eat and having to be so aggressive to get a table. I would go here all the time if it weren't so crowded and such a stressful experience to get a table. One recommendation: order your food TO GO so you don't have to deal with the chaos. Oh yeah, and their french fries aren't that great; get their sweet potato fries! Pros: Burger, sweet potato fries Cons: french fries, seating arrangement, too crowded more

best burger & fries 9/17/2006

the office burger with a side of yam fries is a must! the bartenders are very knowledgeable about each beer, and make great recommendations! they have a really nice peach cidar and hazelnut beer which have become the usual when coming here! there's usually a line during the weekdays, but i've never had to wait during a weekend. the building is really small, so it's hard to snag a table to eat sometimes. Pros: good food, fast service, nice bartenders Cons: street parking only, small space more

I'm somewhat speechless... 9/13/2006

...but I'll get beyond that long enough to say, OH MY HOW GREAT IS THE FATHER'S OFFICE BURGER!!!! It's in a league all its own. Must be experienced. The beer and wine list is pretty impressive as well. Pros: Great food, great beer, fun atmosphere Cons: Can get pretty crowded, seating is every man for himself more

The beer and wine list is pretty impressive as well. There are stacks of trivial pursuit cards around the place for patrons to play while they wait/eat/drink. Fun, relaxed atmosphere. Definitely give it a try! Pros: Great food, great beer, fun atmosphere Cons: Can get pretty crowded, seating is every man for himself more

Bring your megaphone 9/4/2006

Let's cut down to the chase Is the burger good? you're damn right it is but if you think you can just pop in, grub on a burger and make a show... it ain't gonna happen. You'll be lucky to eat while you're sitting down. not to mention contending with a room full of maniacs just to get your order placed. Being nice won't get you noticed. But... believe-you-me... this is definately a burger worth tasting. NOT TO LEFT OUT are the sweet potatoe fries that are indistinguishable from small dougnut sticks. If you absolutely have to have ONE OF THE BEST burgers in LA, go. Otherwise get up on one of your more local quick fixes. more

Great Beer Selection 8/29/2006

We went to Father's Office on a Tuesday night and were incredibly surprised at how crowded it was. After making our way to the bar, I was excited to see that they carried Ommegang Hennepin (a belgian ale from Cooperstown, NY; very hard to find on tap in SoCal). We ordered burgers and sweet potato fries, hoping to find a seat by the time the food arrived. Alas, it was too crowded, so I asked two gentlemen at a table for 4 if we could join them. Luckily they were Canadian and wanted to meet real LA people. It was one of the best meals I've had; great beer, great food, and great company. Pros: microbrew from upstate NY in LA Cons: crowded more

best burger ever! 8/18/2006

i almost don't want to review this place because i don't want it to get busier than it already is. after hearing from a couple people that this place has the best burgers in LA, i wanted to check this place out because really, it's a burger. how great can it be? it was heaven. by far the best burger i've had in my life. i can't even describe how great it is because there are no words to explain the perfect flavor and texture. and i'm normally full of words. also, if you're like me and like beer, but don't love it, you may enjoy the Lost beer. it's got a light fruity flavor that's awesome. also, i'd recommend the soft shell crab (it's usually a special) and the sweet potato fries. ask for a side of garlic aioli....it's fabulous. if you're already a fan of this place, word on the street is that the owner is looking to open another location in culver city that'll be much bigger than this hole in the wall pub. look out for it....i know i will be. Pros: the food, the beer, the people Cons: it gets busy! more

Good Beers, Stuck up chef 8/17/2006

I hate Blue Cheese and the waiter said they could not make my burger without Blue Cheese. That's so arrogant and screwed up. I mean...come on...it's not like I'm asking for the world, just No Blue Cheese. more

Great beer and ambience! 8/1/2006

I'm not a huge beer drinker, but the bartender helped me choose one I've never even heard of (and can't remember the name) and it was delicious! Great after work crowd. more
