Elkhound Ranch Kennels

We've been using Elkhound Ranch Kennels for years. Our dogs love to watch the "wildlife", which makes the in/out kennels perfect for them. When we drop them off, they don't even say "bye" for all their excitement. Adam and Sara are great to work with, and have much enhanced the human customer service side by sending electronic reminders and accepting emailed copies of vaccination updates. more

After having some concerns about how our rescue would do around other people and dogs, I contacted the people at Elkhound. After expressing my concerns they let me bring him in for a trial run for free! They also told me if he didn't do well they could help us. But our dog did great and now stays in the kennels and enjoys the doggie daycare. He loves it! And a side note, they use Robert Masters for training. We used him for a previous dog and without going into detail, let's just say I feel he can train the otherwise untrainable. more

I've used the Elkhound Ranch Kennels several times before Adam purchased it. Since he's taken over, you can tell the staff like doing what they do, and that makes all the difference in the world. With the previous owners, that might have also been the case, but you could tell that it wasn't like that anymore. Before I had some mixed experiences, some fairly good, and some not so good. My last time with them was a terrible experience. My dog came back injured, and the owner said he as like that when he came in, which he wasn't. It was obvious that they had just hosed him down inside the kennel. My dog used to hate the previous operators, and he would always fight because he didn't want to go there. Since Adam's taken over, my dog runs to them. He's never been like that! He's a guard dog and he's very stand-offish unless I tell them that they're alright. My dog loves it there and receives excellent care. It's obvious because he comes back happy. That's what people are looking for. With most people, their animals are their children. I've been taking my dog to Elkhound Ranch Kennels just about every day for the last two months. They treat him good, and we haven't had any problems. When he wants fed, they feed him. They're very caring and easy to talk to. It's a cheap place to go to, too -- couldn't ask for more. He's a happy dog! more

My dogs are excited to go to Elkhound Ranch Kennel. I like the way that they greet the dogs when we come in and seem to have concern about any issues we express -- they computerize a lot of the information so they have it on hand. I also like the way they feed the dogs that need medication separately, lead play time to get the dogs socialized, and have kennels that are half inside and half outside. Plus, they're just friendly people! more

Upon retrieving our dog from a seven day stay we found to sores on the side of his face. Apparently the kennels staff did not notice not attend to these injuries as nothing was said to is about this condition when we picked him up. I've been taking my dog to Elkhound Ranch Kennels for a little over a year and they've gone a long way. I think they are under new ownership because they upgraded to using computers to store client information. They're very personable, professional, and experienced. They know their clients. The service is personalized and I feel like they know the dogs and their families. My dog is always happy to come here and I'd highly recommend them. Elkhound Ranch Kennels treats my dog wonderfully. I can tell that he likes the people here and he has plenty of room to run around here. I've never seen him anything other than happy every time that I pick him up from here. The level of care that the staff show to the pets definitely puts me at ease with bringing my dog here. I've been using Elkhound Ranch Kennels for four or five years now. I rarely recommend anyone to anybody but I would recommend them. I wouldn't worry about it because I know people would be happy to have their pets there. They take care of your cats and dogs real well. I've never had any problems. It's a great place to take your animals. I've taken my pets to other places but Elkhound really has been the best place. They're very good and very friendly. more

I received training for my dog, which was a puppy at the time. The training was awesome and really helped my dog to calm down and listen to me. I enjoyed working with all of the staff. They were extremely friendly and catered to my needs. I would recommend them for any dog training and plan to take my dog back in the future. more

Todd and I take our dog to Elkhound about 4 days a week for doggy day care and take him for grooming every 4 to 6 weeks. They have always been good to us and our dog is always happy at the end of the day so we are very pleased with their service. more

I went out of town for ten nights and Elkhound Ranch Kennels kept both my dogs the entire time. When I picked them up, they were happy and clean (when you're gone a certain amount of time, they give your dogs a free bath). One of my dogs is on medication and they were good on giving that to them. They also bused the bedding I brought with them so they were comfortable. Both of my dogs were happy. I don't know if this is good or bad to say because the old owners weren't bad but you can tell these new owners really care about animals. more
