Hi, my name is Thom Sheridan, owner and operator of Dana’s Transmission and Automotive Service, Inc. I have worked for Dana’s in one capacity or another for the better part of 2 decades, and today I speak to you, interested reader, in response to some of the less flattering reviews you may find at this site. \r
As in even the most farfetched legend or myth, there is always a kernel of truth. The same is true about any review, good or bad, because in both cases the experience was of such a level as to inspire the customer to take his or her valuable time and share their thoughts with anyone who can use a computer. A huge challenge for a business owner today is the old axiom learned in ones first years dealing with the public; a happy customer will tell a few of his friends and refer some who may ask for help, but an unhappy customer will tell anyone who will listen how bad their experience was. Today that is multiplied a thousand fold, and there are no restrictions to what can be posted on the internet. \r
I am sorry anyone would feel strongly enough to vent with such rancor as I have read, and try as I may my memory of an incident is substantially different from that portrayed. Nonetheless, I read these comments with an eye toward change within myself, how could I have dealt differently in a given circumstance. Somewhere between my being, a follower of Charles Manson and Mahatma Gandhi is the truth. I do my best to see that truth and pray to be more conscious of my reactions to difficult situations as they may present themselves in the future. \r
Every person in my life is a kind of mirror, some are magic, some are revealing reflections that I can learn from, and some are out of a circus funhouse. Whatever the case they are all fragile and important in their own ways, but in my shop, they are all the most important thing my business can have; Customers, and they deserve the best I have to offer. Thank you for taking the time to hear me out and consider the other side of the story. \r
