BAD customer service and Money hungry!!! 2/12/2010

I called on a qoute for service and they gave me a great price and even said they would tow in my car at no cost to see if it needed anything else. I asked if I would have to pay the tow bill if they ended up finding something else wrong that cost more than I could afford at this time and they said they would NOT charge me for it. Well my $794 out the door estimate turned into a $1225 plus tax... So I said to hold off on the repairs and park it until I found out if I could find a way to get extra cash. They agreed and said to keep them informed. I called the next morning to let them know I wont be able to have the car fixed right now and would like my car back at home where I felt safer keeping it and would bring it there when I have the money to fix it. He agreed but said I owe $200 to cover the tow bill. I had it towed not even 10 miles and I also brought up the fact he said he wouldnt charge for towing. I called the to company he had tow it and thy said it was only $117 for the tow.... Keith, the main office guy at Dana's, repeatively called me a moron also while I talked to him. I ended up going in and paying the $117 PLUS extra taxes he added to it so i paid $132... Even though he tried charging me $200 for a $117 tow bill.... I got myself a tow dolley and towed it myself.... Im done dealing with those conartist jerks!!!! Pros: Nothing!!! Cons: Scamartists!!! more

Wonderful Experience 10/14/2009

I had my van worked on at Dana's Transmission. My wife and I were impressed with the whole company from the guys out in the shop all the way to the office. We told Tom what the van was doing & not doing.\r \r Tom explained what he thought the problem was and the cost. We needed a part that wasn't in his bid. Tom called to let my wife and I know the cost. When we went and picked up are van. Tom had paid for the part. You don't find people like that this day and age. \r \r My wife was so impressed with Dana's she baked around 3 dozen cookies and took them to the shop. Over the years I have work with a lot of shops, by far Dana's has been the best to work with. About a month after that are van wouldn't start. I called Tom to see if he had any ideas. He told me that it could be a ground. I was going to have the van towed to his shop when he said to let him get it towed he has a co. he uses. He called me later that day to tell me the van was ready. When I asked what was wrong he said that it was the ground. When we went to get the van Tom said no charge I told him that I wanted to pay for the tow Tom said no way. His customer service is a lot better than any shop I have had to work with in the last 20 years. If you need your car worked on call Dana's Transmission they will treat you like a friend not just a dollar. It's the only place I will ever go. Thank Dana's for a wonderful job.\r \r Steve & Kelly L\r \r Pros: Great Customer Service Cons: Who wants a new transmission? more

Not Happy 1/4/2009

My transmission went out in my truck and I asked my freinds where to take my truck, Dana's was one of the two shops recommened. I had it the towed up to the shop, I told them that I don't like vehicle problems at all and I wanted the trany built strong and I paid extra to have this done. I had the truck back one month and the transmission went out on HWY 2 Memorial day night, after five hours and two tow trucks to get my truck and trailer off the HWY and a $1450.00 tow bill. Dana's stated that it was the pump or something and TO BAD about the tow bill. Now the latest is XMAS night the 25th the transmission went out again, and the truck is in eastern WA waiting to get fixed. I only put 10,000 miles on it. I'll keep you posted on the latest tow bill and repair adventure. I took a bus to Everett from Wenatchee to get home and pickup another vehicle to get my family and trailer home again. more

In defense of Dana's 9/12/2008

I am a long time customer of Dana's, been coming in since the early 80's. I was in the shop the day the izzardking was there to pick up his truck. What I saw was a kid with a mouth on him, a mother with an attitude (I would have been embarassed to have my mom defending me at his age), and a shop owner who made the choice not to work on a vehicle. I talked to Tom, he showed me an estimate in his machine for $2,200.00 plus tax, but he didn't stop there, he called the local Jeep dealer and the cost of a ""Factory"" rebuilt unit was almost $2,400.00 PLUS INSTALLATION! Oh, and they only sell rebuilt units, not new. So to the kid who left tire marks in Dana's parking lot speeding out in anger, you might believe your own BS, but those of us who know Dana's will feel safer coming in knowing you won't be pealing out of there in the future. more

Not cheapest but would you skimp on your bypass surgery? Happy customer! 8/19/2008

Well, I was just looking for the phone number because I'm calling to get their recommendation on a friend's vehicle and I noticed they got blasted by somebody who wasn't happy. They treated me very well and I am compelled to support them. I bought a 2001 Yukon XL with the 8.1L engine and it immediately started shifting so hard it was giving me whiplash. Well, so much for the good deal on Craigslist. Not being totally happy with the last transmission place I used, I started asking around at the auto parts dealers and the most recommended was Dana's. I called around and they weren't the cheapest but sometimes you get what you pay for. I thought they did a great job and the transmission has been going strong ever since. They were very professional and courteous to me and my family. Now if they could just improve the mileage on that thing! \r I will definitely use them for my next transmission. more

Best Shop to Get Your Car Repaired! 10/25/2006

Dana's was the most honest and had the best customer service I have ever experienced in an auto repair shop. I went there with a free coupon for a diagnostic check. They went right to it and the results were positive, nothing wrong with my car. Because of their honesty and the great customer service we brought my husbands car in. His transmission went out right at this time.\r Thom told us what different problems could be going on with the transmission, and quoted us prices for each situation. They took a little longer then we thought and for that they are replacing the heater fan in my car for free. Talk about service!\r Pros: Great service, Honest! more

Super Customer Service 6/2/2006

I brought my Subaru in for what I thought was a broken clutch. Tom had the car on the rack and his mechanic performing a diagnostic on the car before I even got done filling out the paperwork. Unfortunately the problem was not the clutch, but a more serious engine problem. Tom really tried to help me find another used engine because he knew I didn't want to put a lot of money into it. I ended up not having the work done and giving it to my son instead since he is a pretty good mechanic. Tom didn't charge me a dime for the work they had done or storing the car until I could have it towed. Tom really values the customer and Dana's is a shop you can trust. I have done business at Dana's before and will certainly be back. Paul C. Anderson Pros: Customer Oriented, Fast Service, Honest more
