I created avoid.danas.transmission@gmailcom. What a disaster. I can only be happy that I went to Dana's for a relatively small job. I stopped by and talked to them before scheduling the car to be worked on. The mechanics in the back are pretty knowledgeable. The owner and receptionist are a disaster. I had my classic car that I built when I was 14 in their shop for drive line work. I finally called after a week and asked if they'd looked at it. Receptionist promised to call me back in 2 hours to let me know the diagnosis. No call. The next day, I stopped in without calling. The car was sitting outside and he said ""it's done!"". I looked at the wall where a poster hung saying ""Your consumer rights are to be notified before any modification of your vehicle."" I had given them a few parts that I'd bought and next he said they weren't able to find the rest of the replacement parts, so they put on used parts from ""upstairs."" I was upset when he told me that this part is also, non-servicable. They should have called me in the first place, especially when replacing it with a part that could never be serviced. I paid and left, just happy to get my classic car back without damage. I got home and popped the trunk, expecting to find the parts I'd given them (that they didn't use). They weren't there. I called them and said ""my parts must be sitting on the mechanics bench or something. After talking to the mechanic, the receptionist said ""this is embarrassing, but there's been some miscommunication between the manager, myself, and mechanic. He wouldn't let me come back for a refund because he needed ""to talk to accounting to figure out how to refund."" When I went in the next day, I asked that the owner was there, hoping to get an apology and refund for the part I gave them to use. When I got there, they were prepared for battle. When I repeated the things above to the owner, he had no mercy. He said ""I do a million dollars in business in this shop each year, what do you do? I don't have time for these little $500 jobs when I've got cars that need $2500 in work done. I took time out of my day to find your part and you complain about that?"" When I explained that I was really only upset about 1) lack of communication 2) not informing me of the repair 3) not telling me that the used part could never be serviced and 4) that they charged me for A PART I GAVE THEM. He didn't care. He yelled and paced for quite a while. So, the final straw was when we finally agreed to refund the part that I gave them and be done with it... they told me they'd mixed up prices originally between the part I gave them and another part. They refunded me the ""correct price"" ($50) instead of what they'd charged me ($150). I'm still looking for ways to more significantly spread the word of their dishonesty and lack of integrity.
