Good Times! 1/5/2009

Granted, this place isn't the most sophisticated spot. But, if you're looking for a fun place w/ awesome music, to hang with your friends...Bruno's is it! We recently had my bday here and I don't remember the last time I had so much fun out. The mangement was so accomodating and totally took care of us all night! more

Cool Place, Gets crowded. 11/5/2007

This is a cool spot. Great service, good drinks, good food. It can get crowded and a lot of people reserve for private parties, so there can be limited seating. All in all, great atmosphere. more

Great Mac and cheese 8/21/2007

No swankeir place to eat kobe sliders and mac and cheese. The service was good and the place is fun. The ambience is more LA than SF which is a nice change. We went with a group of people to happy hour and will definitely return. It helps also that it is in my neighborhood. more

Fun 11/20/2006

I went to Bruno's on Friday, 11/17/06. The cover was $5. The staff was very friendly and the club had enough people not to be empty, but not too many that your constantly saying excuse me or bumping into people. I had a great time b/c it was a multi room club with a mission crowd. Pros: crowd, atmosphere more

Bruno's is HOT HOT HOT 11/14/2006

Bruno's is HOT. The newly renovated venue is gorgeous campared to what was there before. My friends and I had a party there last week, and we had the best time. The drinks and food are delicious. I really recommend trying the macaroni and cheese, the homemade mozzerella sticks and the kobe beef sliders. (We just about tried everything on the menu). The crowd is always fun, and they have great dj's spinning music there on the weekends, which is perfect for us because we like to get crazy on the dancefloor after a few drinks. This place is fun and has a great vibe, and I definitely am anxious to check out the live music during the weekdays. My friends and I had such a great time there last week, we're planning on having another birthday party here as well as some holiday parties. They have a few really great rooms for parties. Make sure to check out the Pussycat VIP room if you have a chance. I really glad that Bruno's is open now, because it's definitely the new hottest spot in San Francisco. Cons: Great food & Drinks, ambience, live music, dj's dancing more

Bruno's R.I.P. 10/19/2006

I used to frequent this venue as one of the best places to hear jazz. And it was defenitely tragic when the place changed ownership, and was closed for renovation for a whole year and a half. When I heard the place re-opened, again as Bruno's, I was curious whether it would be the same again. The renovation is not the best, the center room is gone, along with the fish tank, and now the place is covered in leopard print carpet, with flat screens galore. The place is now so tacky to match the new disrespectful staff. Perhaps they are trying to resurrect the legend, still posting reviews from the past on their website as though their own, but after my time there last night I am certain it will never be the same. Bruno's is dead. R.I.P. more

GREAT NEW BRUNO'S 9/6/2006

I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical when I heard that Bruno's was being\r remodeled. I loved the old Bruno's, but the new version has taken it to a new level. The\r menu is bar food (burgers, wings) but the quality is good and the prices ridiculously cheap. The\r fireplace is a welcome addition as I used to freeze to death in the old Bruno's. I don't know\r who did the artwork but it is really interesting (although I'm not sure about the frozen Barbie\r doll painting). Overall, I'm glad they are finally open and that the live music has returned. more

Great Atmosphere and Delicious Cocktails 9/4/2006

I was surprised to read a negative review of Bruno's since the remodel - I never got the chance to go before they closed for renovations but I kept hearing that Brunos was one of the greatest Mission hang-outs, so when they reopened I had to swing by and check it out. This place is great! It feels like a swank lounge from another era but the casual atmoshpere and easy-going crowd makes it completely unpretentious. Whoever designed the lighting and seating arrangements deserves a gold star (if you like people watching, don't miss this place) and the DJ was great both times that I've been. I was impressed with the creativity of the drinks (the Mango Mojito is to die for), and I'm yet to try one that is too sweet (which is such a turn-off when you just want a solid cocktail) although the peach bellini was somewhat lacking in flavor, every other drink I tried was unique and delicious. The food menu is creative and I'm anxious to go back so I can try everything on it! The service has been a toss up in terms of speed but the staff is always friendly. Overall, Bruno's has a relaxed but energetic vibe that is perfect for an after work drink or kicking off a night of partying. It's also a great spot to take friends from out of town. Get there early on the weekends, though - they start charging cover at 10 and it fills up quickly. Pros: Amazing Atmosphere and Cocktails Cons: Occasionally slow service more
