I must say that Bruno's has some pretty good food at good prices. Everyone I was with enjoyed the dinner. They also have cute bartender's. more

A good meal every time 6/4/2003

Every time I've been to Bruno's I have had a good meal. I think they may have had a rocky start when they reopened the kitchen but I find the food to be great every time I go. I haven't gone for the 29.95 3 course meal, just straight off the menu. I'm just glad it's in my hood. more

Every time I've been to Bruno's I have had a good meal. I think they may have had a rocky start when they reopened the kitchen but I find the food to be great every time I go. I haven't gone for the 29.95 3 course meal, just straight off the menu. I'm just glad it's in my hood. more

POOR POOR POOR 1/1/2003

Bruno's is under new management in the last year and believe me, IT SHOWS! Bruno's, while still maintaining very good food, HAS THE MOST PATHETIC STAFF...INCLUDING MANAGEMENT AND WAITORS/WAITRESSES. SO SLOW...SO AMBIVALENT TO SPEEDY, PROMPT SERVICE. It took us 2 hours to get seated EVEN THOUGH WE HAD RESERVATIONS FOR A MONTH. Then, when we were seated, no acknowledgement from the wait staff for 20 minutes PLUS! It was unbelievable. Then, it took 3 hours to get through all of the courses...they were just that slow. Then they had the audacity to add 18% gratuity for our party of 7. When the French Girlie Manager was questioned about this, she seemed to care less...but when we threatened to walk out AND NOT PAY THE BILL, then she cared. Bruno's WAS a great place...now it is just a place.....dont bother. more

Keep walking 11/24/2002

We had heard this was a great old style SF Italian restaurant- - keep walking up Mission street to look for something else. Restaurant is dark and the food is mediocre at best. more

Food was just not that good 10/3/2002

Booth seating, kinda funky atmosphere, so far so good. But service is bad since they take forever to get you drinks, and later the same applies for food. And food - pasta and not the best quality - choices are good either... I heard that musc was good - but that's not really the restaurant's part. more

not worth the price 8/20/2002

We went on a Thursday night and got the ""special""-- any starter, any entree and any dessert plus unlimited glass of wine for $29.95. Sounds like a bargain, but the osso bucco was salty and the service painfully slow -- they really make you wait for your wine. more

The worst meal I have ever had in SF 7/18/2002

This place was really hyped up and you do see alot of people going in. It must be for the cocktails because as a resturant you have to wonder how they stay in buisness. The food was disgusting and we all felt rather sick the entire eveing afterwards. I must say the waiter was quite nice, but it is after all a resturant. I would rather stay home and eat canned soup than go back.. Pros: nice chairs Cons: horrible food, ill feeeling, pricey more

Bruno's recently started offering its $29.95 dinner special and its easily one of the best things going in the Mission or anywhere else in San Francisco. Sure, it's a marketing tactic to get people in on off-nights, but my guests and I were amazed at how fresh and tasty all of our dishes were. It's a classic menu but with some twists, and you just can't complain about unlimited wine! more
