After my husband and I discovered our roof was leaking in our new-to-us home, we knew we needed to get it replaced, and quickly - especially since it was leaking into our soon-to-be-nursery! We contacted Best Roofing through Angie's list, and within a few hours I'd been contacted via phone for follow up. Their rep, Ty, came out and gave us an estimate. He was very polite and professional and explained everything clearly. After getting an estimate from a competitor and determining that Best had the better pricing, we hired Best. A week and a half later, we had our new roof - and it is beautiful! They called during the process to inform of things that would need to increase the agreed-upon cost, and did a great job cleaning up afterwards. We were thrilled to have the work done so quickly and we live r how it turned out. I would definitely recommend them to anyone! more

I was impressed with the Production Reps knowledge of the products available and description of the roofing installation. The work started on time and was completed before I expected. When the work was done, every bit of roofing material was removed and a thorough sweep of the property for trash and nails was conducted. The roof looks great! Not only was our roof beautiful and well done in a timely manner, but the workers were courteous, even a joy to have around. After finishing the roof our back yard was picked up better than how we left it, and our driveway and neighbor's driveway was immaculate. We got three bids and did some research on roofing. Best Roofing's representative sat down with us and discussed the options. He carefully and patiently explained what a new roof would entail. He answered all of our questions, even the dumb ones, with courtesy and professionalism. We discussed flashings that would protect extrusions from the roof (vents, etc.) and Best was able to provide lead vice plastic/aluminum for literally only a couple of dollars more. He recommended a roof vent (which will save us heat/AC money) and the price was still less than the next bid. The selection of shingles and colors was great and we got a high quality product from GAF that still kept the price competitive with the other bids. When we made the decision to choose Best Roofing of VA, Mr. Harrelson, the representative, visited us again to take care of the contract and to explain the installation procedure. When it came to the rebates, he hand-wrote exact instructions. He told us that we would get a call a couple of days before the installers came. And, the materials would be delivered the day before installation. It all worked exactly as he promised. The installers were quick, careful, and courteous. They started early, worked like Trojans, and were very safety conscious. Because it was a hot day, we offered cool water, but they declined because they came prepared for the heat, the company required it. Clean-up was perfect; although, we found one (but only one) nail left over. We are very pleased with the work, the look of the new roof, and the guarantees for workmanship and material. After 4 other contractors had given estimates, Don was the first to actually sit down with me and spend time explaining roofing systems and price versus quality/performance, as well as how the warranties worked for different products/installers. His quote was right on with the other quotes I had recieved but with a better warranty. He was also the only person to inform me of a rebate being offered to active military/vets by the GAF Company. After our time together I had full confidence in the Best Roofing business and customer service ethics. The actual work was performed quickly and professionaly by a freindly respectful crew. I originally called Don H. on a Friday and made an appointment for the following Thursday. I received my other four bids early and was ready to make my decision because I was going out of town for a week, back a week and leaving again. I wanted to get my roof installed during the week that I was back. Reading the reviews on Angie's List and on the best roofing web site I really wanted a bid from Best. Aside from the comments previously mentioned I also went to the GAF web side. I called Don on the following Monday and he said he had a meeting Tuesday and would be able to see me after the meeting. He arrived at about 1:30 and left at about 3:30 with a signed contract. His thorough way of explaining everything and putting me at ease that I was getting a superior roofing system in the time frame that I wanted it done. He said he would do it and it was done. The crew was very polite and professional during the job. I am very pleased with my roof and would recommend Best Roofing with any reservations. more

After only 7 years of roof work done by an unlicensed roofer, my roof needed repair and replacement. 33 sheets of plywood had to be removed then replaced due to water damage. The roof crew worked efficiently and expertly and finished the job in just 1 1/2 days. The price was right and the job was explained to me thoroughly. The cleanup post repair was impressive. The estimate was timely, informative and fair. The supplies came within the week of the contract and the crew of 6 arrived and began working at 8am the next morning. We did not want to spend money on a new roof, but had to, just 2 years after moving into our 1960's ranch. While going out for quotes, we came across scammers, illegals, and just a few legit businesses but they had pushy salespeople using tactics that were transparent. It was awful. By the time we contacted Best Roofing we were rather pessimistic about getting a fair deal on a new roof. Or that we wouldn't hate the workers. Don runs his business with ethics, provides great end-to-end customer service (as does his skilled crew,) and they are all a pleasure to be around. I look at the roof nearly every time I'm driving out, and know we made the right choice by going with Don and Best Roofing, but feel we could have the process easier on ourselves by calling them first. more

I contacted four different roofing companies before selecting Best Roofing of Virginia to perform the work. They very expertly removed two layers of shingles and replaced a significant amount of roof sheathing that was no longer serviceable. The crew was prompt and polite. The company serior representative came to our home multiple times in order to inspect the work while it was in progress. Best Roofing did a superb job at an affordable price. Had a new roof installed (with all GAF products), replaced two skylights, replaced 6 sheets of roofing decking, installed ridge vents, removed power vents, vent pipes sleeved with lead , no stress no drama everything was discussed, coordinated and work completed as promised. Got a better roof for less money than other companies had estimated. Don was straightforward explaining pros and cons of the different roofing products,. Knew his craft and product. Yard was a s clean when they departed as the day they started Workers were very conscientious working around plants and shrubs. We had our roofing work done on July 23-24, 2013. The materials were delivered the day before, and the roofers arrived about 7:30 a.m. the first day to start the work; they worked for 12 hours and finished the job the following day (that day they arrived about 9 a.m.). They took off the old shingles (in some areas two layers), repaired or replaced roof deck sheathing where necessary, replaced the skylights, reflashed where necessary, built a cricket in back of the chimney where there hadn't been one before, installed a roof ridge vent, painted the vent pipes to match the shingle color, and then cleaned up very well after each day's work. They did do magnetic cleaning, which picked up most of the nails, but we did do our own and found a quantity of nails on the least-used side of the house. But other than that we are very pleased with the work and in the week since they finished we've had several rain storms, and there have been no problems. more
