I had a great experience with BFP. They met me on site (AJ, Jeff) at the scheduled time, performed a quick assessment and agreed upon a plan of action. On the following day, Jeff and Jeff came in, removed the damaged hot water boiler and oil burner and installed the new boiler and burner, and then proceeded to discover and repair 21 pipe bursts and leaks! They appeared on time, continued for five days without diversion to another job, worked continuously each day for a total of five days until the job was done. They communicated fully with me, understood my history of the house and took my ideas under advisement, and made it through to completion. A wonderful experience! - who has ever said that about a contractor in an emergency? Now, if they could just soften the price tag... more

Not a positive experience but problem was fixed. 1/8/2018

I called customer service to schedule a appointment. I asked about fees and was told there is a $59.99 charge to have the tech come out but if there was a charge to fix the problem it would be credited towards it. Finally the tech comes and right away he says there is a $149.99 diagnose fee. Nobody told me anything about that fee. After probably 30mins of going back and forth and calling customer service I agreed to have him do the job which took him maybe 20mins to replace the power box where the noise was coming from. He made it seem he needed to charge the $149.99 fee because he needed to run test on what hp pump I had since I didn't know. He took out his equipment and in 5mins he knew what it should be . Here I'm thinking he is going to have to run back and forth outside find the part and nothing just like that he knew. I don't think it's fair that no one told me of the diagnosis fee and on top to not really do any work. The noise was clearing from the box what else what would you fix or replace. All and all the problem was fixed but it really didn't leave me with a good impression to call them back for future problems. more

THE SERVICE WAS OUTSTANDING 1/6/2018

I had a broken and leaking hot water heater on new years day. In a very short time I had a new installed hot water heater. The technician did a great job. It is a great relief to know that whatever plumbing problem I may have BF is only a phone call away from solving it. more

Emergency Service, December 21 1/5/2018

We placed a call for emergency service in the late afternoon of December 21st. The technician was at our home within an hour and stayed until he found the problem and did a temporary fix. On the morning of December 22nd, another technician came to assess the problem so we could be given an estimate. This all happened that same morning. Because of the Christmas holiday, we could not have the final work done until Tuesday, December 26th. The crew was at our home at 9:00 a.m., as promised and the work was finished sooner than expected. Everyone we dealt with was polite, knowledgeable and went above and beyond so we wouldn't be without water over the holiday. We would definitely use this company again and would recommend Benjamin Franklin Plumbing to others! more

Service performed 12/23/2017

Prompt, courteous service. The technician was efficient and knowledgeable. Only thing I question is the pricing info. I was quoted a price on a new hot water heater but he never mentioned the service contract I could receive and get a deduction on services. We knew about this service because another family member also uses this company. The work performed was great and they cleaned up the area after. more

Minimum use charge 12/11/2017

I received a minimum use charge bill. I rent a space and run a machine shop here so basically I ONLY use gas for heat from October to May . This charge is not normal and because I'm on auto pay I wondered why this wasn't auto paid. I called with the question of A ; I rent here , why am I getting this bill and B; if its a legitimate charge why wasn't it auto paid. I called and I was kindly helped out and it turned out that a new computer operating system was installed which falsely sent me this " minimum use charge " bill. The bill was dismissed because , as a rule , since I only heat with gas I cannot be expected to consume propane or be charged during this time of no use for a "no use fee". So, if you fall into this category call and explain this fact to Osterman. They were very helpful. more

Have used BF many times since moving to a new (for us) property. Their response time is always great, the techs are professional, polite, friendly and take the time to explain exactly what is needed and why. They are extremely conscious of cleaning up their work area when they are done. I have referred both family and friends to them with the same results. Great job more

Recently a Ben Franklin plumber came came to my house to do several jobs. He was very courteous, knowledgeable and efficient. This is the second time I've used Ben Franklin and I would highly recommend them to others. They are also convenient coming out on a Saturday. more
