Bartini's forest hills 7/10/2010

I went to this lounge to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. We were dancing and having fun when a bar back shoves my boyfriend out of his way. My boyfriend naturally says next time say excuse me. The barback calls the bouncers over and has my boyfriend thrown out. There were no threats no threatening body language none of us were inebriated. I call to speak with the owner and whoever I speak to was completely rude about the situation and would not here me out... XXXXXX them out!!!! Pros: good music Cons: terrible discriminatory, rude staff and owner more

Enjoy the Drinks 5/10/2010

Bartinis is a nice place for drinks and conversation Pros: Really Good Drinks Cons: Hard to find parking more

Love The Music 12/21/2009

Went for my friends birthday party this past friday . Had the time of my life. I danced all night; the dj knew what to play and when to play it. Awesome .We are all going back for new years eve..Had a great time., The bouncers could be a little more friendlier however, although the doorman was very pleasant. Will return. Pros: Great Dj Cons: Mandatory Coatcheck more

worse than ghetto 10/28/2009

This low class place is filled with low class people - from the ownership to the patrons. Sha-nae-naes coming out to rock the night. Chaos everyone. poor drinks, poor ventilation, crammed club, no dance floor, etc. I would be embarrased to go here.. especially those that commute to go here. It's sad that this is where you would spend your weekend nights. I really feel bad for the neighborhood. This place brings the neighborhood down. Pros: No line Cons: older lowlife crowd with no funds to spare more

BEST DJ AND GOOD TIMES 10/12/2009

I am so glad I found Bartinis because this place has become the place where I can have most all of my friends come out to and I know they will have a good time. Its local so its easily accessible and there is valet parking. SInce the City clubs are expensive and the music sometimes is random, I know that ever thurs and Fri when my DJ spins, I will have a great time. The music is a mix of reggae, dancehall, hip-hop, pop and 90s. I swear there are nights when I won't sit for 2 mins because every song that comes on gets me moving. The bartenders are so quick with your drinks and there are crazy assortments of martinis. Its definately a place where you can take your whole crew out and where there be something for everyone. If you are looking for convinience, and good time with friends and no hassle on admissions, long lines or for drinks- than Bartinis is your place. Pros: comfy atmosphere, cool down to earth ppl Cons: hot since its in the basement more

Worst Lounge I've ever been to in my entire life 10/10/2009

This review requires a rating of atleast one star to be published but this place deserves stars to the negative. They use cheap alcohol. The crowd is too far over 21 and unnattractive. The place is filthy and disgusting. There is old gum all over the floor. The couches must be fifty years old or more. The tables are dirty. For the most important part, the Bouncers are extremely disgusting. One in particular- the tallest and darkest one, is aggressive and violent. Police have been called on the bouncers many times but as usual the police are useless especially since a majority of them are uneducated and never get to the bottom of an issue because their only job is to make things easy on themselves. This place is not where you want to spend your weekened for any occasion. If you have any class, shame, respect, and value do not attend Bartinis in Forest Hills. Do not be fooled by the upperclass neighborhood that surrounds it. Locals should be embarrased of this venue. Pros: None Cons: everything about it more

BasementBouncersBrawlsBooze 8/19/2009

This place is the basement of a residential building. It has no ventilation, it's ridiculously dark, there are pipes running above your head with condensation dripping on your hairdo. The couches were moist. The bouncers arent strict -they let anyone in (no dress code) so it looks like a slum and didnt feel safe. People were rude, no class. I have friends that hang out in the rocker bar across the street and they tell me there are fights every weekend. Most of the time even the bouncers cant handle the crowd. The patrons beat on the bouncers. The only pros about this place were that the drinks were reasonably priced and the bartender was cute. Go into the city instead - the LIRR is right across the street - take it to Penn Station - you'll get there in 12 min. The commute will be worth it. Pros: liquor license valid Cons: humid wet basement, rowdy patrons more

GREAT MUSIC GREAT SOUND 6/14/2009

COOL PLACE TO GO IF YOU DONT FEEL LIKE GOIN TO THE CITY.. WAS THERE LAST FRIDAY DJ WAS GREAT....SOUND SYSTEM WAS LIKE A CITY CLUB,,..A LITTLE HOT THOUGH..HAD A GREAT TIME.. Pros: GREAT MUSIC Cons: RUDE BOUNCERS more

this is for izzimv, the beautiful bartender 2/2/2009

Bartini's is great for a late night, after which you can just stumble home. It is quite nice to have a very decent bar/club/lounge in your neighborhood. The staff is very friendly and the bartender, that has a "Jason Statham" look, is super easy on the eye and makes great drinks! Thank you for those intricate and delicious pink concoctions. Yes, the staff is memorable and can remember bar-goers even if they visited Bartini's some 7 months back. As for the DJ on Fridays, or at least on 01/30/09, was not as impressive. I don't see why some songs have to re-played 2-3 times a night. Regardless, we had a great night and will be back soon! Pros: Izzi Cons: DJ; not much room to bust a move, and that's unfortunate more

pretty ok 11/1/2008

well this is a good place to be on a friday or saturday night. ive been here alot and the bouncers are fuckers but the drinks are pretty good and with over 600 martinis youre sure to find something you like. One person that works there is extremely georgous (shes anonymous). i know her she is a very kind person i sometimes see her around and talk to her a little bit. She is a nice woman. The music is great and the crowds are pretty good. the fact that its located at 1 station square is convenient. Pros: pretty staff (just one) and 600 martini's Cons: none more

Love it! 9/6/2008

I've been to this place a few times already and have enjoyed myself every time. Because of it's convenient location, it's the place my friends and I use to start our night, but we never want to leave. Fridays nights are the best there. I'm pretty tired of the lame manhattan clubs, where you have to wait to have a good time...Bartinis is not the case. It's always a good time. I read the last review, and have to agree that yes it is in a basement, but if you're just looking to have a good time, dance, drink and hang out with your friends, than this is the place to be. Pros: Great music, Great location, Thursday and Friday nights Cons: Small, Bathrooms more

It's time for the truth 8/15/2008

Normally I would let a club that annoyed me like this just let it slide but after reading these rave reviews about this place and then dragging my friends to go to this place after pestering them during the week I had to dispel the myths. First off this is NOT a club (notice how not one person points this out) it's a basement LOUNGE at a hotel with a DJ. Whenever you get into a basement place then a whole host of problems ensues just by nature. It has no ventilation, it's ridiculously dark, there are pipes running above your head and it feels like a cave. It will also take you five seconds to walk from one end to the other. I am not kidding. I couldn't get over how small the place was. Which I could excuse if it was an illegal speakeasy or a club in Ohio but we are living in one of the most glamourous cities in the world and it annoys me to attend a place that isn't bigger than my living room. If the place is that small its all fine and good by me but dont' try and make it into something that its not which is a club. It is too dark and loud to be successful as a "lounge". I guess I could would be fine if the music was really popping but it was nothing but spanish music on a friday night. Again I would not have cared had the reviewers here didn't talk about famous DJs who came. Yes there is no cover charge and the drinks are reasonably priced but I truly couldn't stand to be there for more than a couple of hours (I'm surprised I lasted that long). I mean the place is fine for what it is which is a local hole in the wall that is a good alternative when you have no money, want somewhere to hang with your friends and don't want to get really dressed up (which I was and felt weird). But do not mistake this place on any level as a substitute for a manhattan club or lounge because it could never hope to measure up. Pros: cheap, local Cons: small, too dark, basement, too loud, cheesy atmosphere more

Always a great local place to chill, dance and drink! 8/7/2008

I have been coming to Bartini's for years now and I have told many people about this awesome place. Every time I go there I just know I will have a great time. I have been there on a few Fridays and Saturdays, but my favorite night to go is on Thursdays because of those free drinks. The door staff is always friendly, and respectful. There is never a cover charge no matter what night it is and that is just perfect because they have a well stocked bar and bartenders who know a lot about mixology. The crowd is diverse which is cool, and that means that the DJ will play a little bit of everything. The DJ is really good by the way. It can get pretty hot down there at times which is okay you just have to go back upstairs and hang out for a few minutes then rejoin the party. The women's bathroom has issues from time to time, but that is nothing to stop you from having a great time as long as you go there to dance and drink and not to hang out in the bathroom. Bartini?s is a lot of fun I love it there! Pros: Ladies night, DJ and Bartenders Cons: Wish it was bigger more

Pretty darn good place to drink n unwind! 7/9/2008

Ive been here about 4 times since moving back from California Oct 07 and I enjoy every single time. Ive only gone on Thursdays with my 2 bff's cuz we enjoy the free drinks til 11pm :) The bathrooms could be better but its a rather small ladies room with alot of females going in and out so what can you expect? I dont think that a bad review should be based on one isolated event but the overall experience. Every time Ive gone the music has been real good and the dance areas and bartenders just as well. We are going there tonight and as always, I expect to have a good time! Pros: Bartender cool, gave us free water :) and music is awsome to dance to Cons: could have a bigger dance area and bathrooms could be better, can get very hot downstairs more

Excellent for Friday night outs 6/12/2008

I like to try new places everytime I go out and I like to have a good time. I can't tell you the number of times I've went to other places in Queens and Manhattan and ended up treking right back to Bartinis even if it means me getting there at 2 am cuz I know for sure that those 2 hours will be worth it--> the music, the drink and the atmosphere is soo soo great. The bouncers at the door are very nice and once when an overseas friend was visiting and had sneakers on they let him in ( mind you I have no connections at this lounge whatsoever). The DJ is excellent and very receptive if you ask for a change of music. One of the best things however is NO COVER CHARGE..which I think is pretty awesome. It means I can buy more drinks (that are reasonably priced) and tip the waitresses and bartenders better. I'd definitely recommend this place to anybody looking to have a good time on a friday night. Pros: Great music, no cover charge, great crowd, helpful doormen, subway/parking Cons: they close at 4..;) more

Best DJ! 5/2/2008

I totally love this place. I have been to tons of places in NYC and grown quite tired of the pretentious and foo foo type clubs where everyone is trying so hard to impress strangers. Bartinis is not the case. Just a bunch of people who want to have a good time. It's one of those great hole in the wall places that I just keep coming back to. Why? THE DJ! He's fabulous! I have been living here for 27 years and I can say that the music is far better here than any of the hundreds of other places I've been before. If you're looking to dance and have a good time with a great looking crowd, then this is the place. Thursdays (ladies night) and Friday nights are the best. The best dj works those nights. He spins everything from old school hip hop to 2008 soca to dance to r&b to.....EVERYTHING! The new manager is very attentive and inviting, qualities you usually don't find in nightclub managers,so you're sure to be taken good care of. This is the spot. Pros: Thursdays and Fridays DJ, comfortable, Great music Cons: Gets crowded. more
