Would absolutely NOT recommend this store. The owners have the worst customer service and talk to you like you're an idiot. Absolutely do not stand behind their products. When picking out a stroller I worked with the son owner in Hopkins and he was rude, insensitive, and does not know how to work with people... let alone a pregnant woman. Months after my baby was born I went back in for help to receive horrible service from the Saint Paul location. Honestly can't believe this place is still in business. more

Customer Experience: Horrible. The store treated my wife and mother in law like they were below class. We ordered a hand bag for a baby shower 6 WEEKS before the shower. We checked back twice and each time they said they would call us. Wish I read these reviews as we learned that when they say, ?We?ll call you?, it really means, give us the money and get the heck out. In the end, we didn?t have a present for our friends baby shower. Never again. more

The reason big box stores thrive... 2/14/2012

I wanted to shop local, but will be going to Babies R Us (or wherever else) after suffering through Baby Grand. They do have nice stuff, but such does not makeup for the litany of problems I had there. First, the two shop ladies I worked with had nasty attitudes. For example, when a bleached blond Grand Ave trophy wife came in with calfskin boots and a camel hair coat, the shop lady abandoned my wife and me in mid-sentence to see to this higher caliber of customer. What else? They sold us a faded and battered supposedly new item (to be discovered at home), then when we returned it, one lady winked conspiratorially at the other. When we came in to pick up another product, we were casually told the item would be, at best, a month late (a call would have been nice), which was too late, so we bought the floor model because the baby is due any day. The owner said she'd give us a discount, but she later charged full price. I wish I would have read the reviews before trying Baby on Grand (and dropping a grand). How hard is it to have a modicum of respect for your customers (those little people who pay for your meals)? more

TERRIBLE!!! 9/20/2011

I was ALL excited to go to Baby Grand; pregnant with my 1st child and start decorating the nursery. I should have known better as on our first visit, we got nothing but a look in our direction...not a ""hello"" or ""what are we shopping for today"" NOTHING...Well, I decided to order a bedding set. I live about 2 hours away and when I ordered the lady told me no more than 4 weeks for it to be delivered to my house, but maybe even by the following week...DEFINETLY did not happen by either deadline...I had to call several times, mind you I was told twice that they needed to call me back and I never recieved calls back. When I had had enough, I called and demanded I speak to a supervisor. They had trouble finding my information on the computer and had no clue as to what I ordered, even though I paid IN-FULL at the time of ordering over 8 weeks prior. Well, long story short-the bedding finally arrived with 3 valances short =( So, back to square one...its the same cycle over and over. RUDE customer service and poor communication. You would think that for a ""higher"" end store, they would be doing everything in their power to make their costumers happy. I WILL NEVER shop at Baby Grand again and will spread my opinions to all my pregnant friends and anyone who asks about this store. Thanks Baby Grand for ruining my 1st and last visit! more

Great Shopping, Great Experience 7/10/2011

I am SO glad I found this store! Being new to the twin cities (and state!) and a first time mom, this store was a life-saver! It was so nice to be able to get everything we needed in one place from such knowledgeable staff. A lot of people tried warning me not to shop in such a ""high end"" boutique because it's SO expensive but I did a lot of price comparison before buying anything and they were right on track with their competition. They even told me they would pricematch any other deal I found elsewhere. I ended up buying my crib, changing table, stroller, carseat, bedding, cloth diapers, and various other little things through them. The only thing I might note, is that my bedding took far longer than I was originally quoted. But in their defense, the fabric was on backorder from the company and when they were aware of it, they notified me. Obviously things happen that are out of their control and they dealt with the issue very well. Will definitely be going back for things as my little girl gets bigger, and when we have another child. more

Mixed feelings 5/14/2011

OK, so I am a neighborhood person and I try to support the local shops by buying local and not shopping online. I have been burned more than once (I know, shame on me) by Baby Grand. It breaks my heart, to be honest. The store is lovely and they carry many nice organic and eco-friendly items. We bought our crib, BOB and a high chair there... as well as many smaller day-to-day items. Again, with many mixed emotions, I have to give them a poor rating for customer service. The BOB took an additional 3 months to arrive - nearly 6 weeks after baby was born. Not only that, we were outright lied to about the arrival date. Not even, ""hey we are not completely sure an exact date but..."" They called to tell us it was in (finally) and when we showed up (immediately), it was not put together, which took an additional two days. We had similar problems with the high chair and padding for the chair. I actually started noting what they were telling me because they continuously changed their story. I still shop there from time to time, but will NEVER AGAIN special order anything. more

Most Unique Selection 3/7/2011

Baby Grand has a great selection of the baby gifts you WANT to have. Walking into Babies R Us is overwhelming because there are 30 options for every item. Baby Grand already has done the legwork and research and found the very best, small selection of items. While I was waiting on a back-ordered stroller (due to the manufacturer) I was frustrated because I wanted to take my new infant on walks. Understanding my frustration, Baby Grand offered me the floor model to use until my own came in. I appreciated this personal accommodation. Not only was I able to outfit my baby and house when my newborn arrived, I continue to trust their knowledge ""as he grows"" with a high chair, feeding supplies, and baby proofing. more

Extensive Knowledge and Genuwine Care 6/9/2010

I have two children and have acquired all my baby needs at this wonderful store! In working with the staff there I got the feeling that they cared about me personally and in making my experience a good one. They have extensive knowledge on all the baby products from car seats to furniture and were also VERY helpful in setting up my registry. I'd say they have everything you need there as a Babies R Us or Target would, and beyond...but the service and care you receive plus the unique products available is what sets them apart! I'd shop there again and recommend it to all. Check it out! more

Great Customer Service & Great Experience with Delivery 6/8/2010

Baby Grand completely exceeded my expectations. Usually if you have a good experience with a store, you don't normally write a review, but I felt compelled after seeing these recent negative posts to write a glowing review :) I have three kids and have purchased all my furniture with Baby Grand. I've also used their delivery and set up service with all three - which is less expensive and more accommodating than anywhere else (good luck having something delivered from an online site!) They even were able to deliver the furniture on the weekends which was most convenient for my husband and I. I was completely satisfied and tell everyone to get their furniture (and all other items) with Baby Grand. Why didn't I read the reviews first? 5/24/2010

If I had read the reviews of this store I would have never shopped there; saving us all the hassle! Staff was incredibly rude, condescending & snobby. Prices are better else where & you'll get better customer service from buying from the web! Delivery was horrendous - we were left waiting more than 3 hours. One of our items was broken & when the replacement came we were left waiting for another 3 hours before they showed up. When addressing these disappointments with the store all concerns were dismissed or denied & I was told to shop else where! I just wish I HAD shopped some where else! I LOVE this store!! 5/21/2010

Baby Grand is my absolute favorite baby store!! Being a first time mom, I was venturing into a complete unknown territory. The staff at Baby Grand had unbelievable product knowledge and helped me not only plan my dream nursery but also explained how my car seat was going to fit onto my new stroller (which they put together for me AND installed my car seat free of charge). I was so happy. I could have purchased everything online, but I'm a firm believer in shopping local and supporting our mom and pop shops. Plus, that online vendor can't assemble my stroller for me or put together my nursery furniture! Pros: Great customer service & knowledge! Cons: The space is a little tight. more

Toxic Store. Lack of Professionalism and Plenty of Rudeness 3/17/2010

We made two expensive purchases at this store and regret it profoundly. We hate to think about the day when a friend mentioned it to us and we decided to go there. The first item arrived with the package open, was 3 years old, completely dirty and damaged. The owners acted as if they didn't know they had such an item in their store and said they would order a new one. It took the item too long to arrive. When we called to inquired regarding its status, they kept passing us from one person to another. Each one of them gave us a different ETA. Needless to say, we were very frustrated. On the good side, they gave us a small store credit. We decided to give them another chance and order one more thing from them. It was even worse. They lied about the ETA so many time, even about the fact that they have never carried the item in the store. They didn't honor the agreement of the return and full refund. The old lady in the store was very rude, unapologetic, she even dared to tell us where to shop next time and wanted to know when was my due date. All this shows how unprofessional, unethical and terribly is she and other employees are in her store. We are never going back and told all of our expecting friends to stay away from that horrible store. We found the same things, even more and for cheaper at other store in Twin Cities as well as online. Cons: Terrible Customer service more

Horrible Customer Service 12/2/2009

We recently purchased a very expensive stroller at this store and after having it home from the store for one day, found it elsewhere for much less money, and from a place that would ship it to my sister's home out of state for free. Baby Grand had assemlbed the strolled for us without asking but also did not tell us that meant we couldn't return it. They would not honor the other price, would not ship it for my sister, and the owner of the store argued with my mother and pregnant sister for over an hour. My sister was sobbing (the owner could have cared less that his pregnant customer was so upset) and after eventually taking the stroller back, the owner actually told my mother and sister to never shop at his store again. I have shopped at baby grand for years and I was the one who suggested it to my mother and sister but per the owner's request we will not be back, and I will encourage my friends and family to do the same. I wish I would have read these other reviews before taking my poor sister to this store - I am glad we returned the stroller because they do not deserve our business. more

RUN AWAY FAST! 5/30/2008

We spent 600 on a stroller and accesories TWO years ago. They convinced us to buy the floor model and save 10%. I have emailed and called and still have no help from them. You see my stroller is missing a part to attach the canopy. So I have never been able to use it outside. Also, we ordered an extra set of tires for 45 and have yet to see them or our money back. I am thinking about sitting in front of their store during Grand old days protesting their store... Pros: Good selection Cons: EVERYTHING, Look then order elsewhere online more

While all of the sales clerks at Baby Grand were very pleasant to work with and willing to research questions my husband and I will never be back, and will discourage anyone we know from patronizing this shop. Great baby gear selection and deep industry knowledge!!! 9/18/2007

I've shopped here over the past 3 years and have had both good and neutral experiences. Their selection of top notch brands of strollers + car seats + high chairs and baby furniture is great! The staff has taken the time to educate me and really make sure that I'm getting the right stroller + car seat + high chair for my specifc needs. You won't get this selection + service + knowledge combo at a mass retailer. Pros: More + different + better selection and knowledge on baby gear!!! Cons: Not for you if you want cheap mass merchandise! more

It's amazing how such a small shop can hold so much! What a great selection of highly-rated baby necessities and indulgences. The staff was informative, attentive (without seeming pushy) and very caring. Great selection of baby carriers, strollers and car seats--for very competative prices. They know quality! Avoid !! 6/8/2007

BEWARE of the owner(s). After spending a lot of money on major baby purchases at this store, we found ourselves yelled at and hung-up on by the owner over a minor miscommunication involving their request to sell our special order to another customer. A call back resulted in continued immature, unprofessional behavior. On a side note, we had previously witnessed the owner brashly dressing down one of the employees right in front of us, all for putting some catalogues away that she had wanted to look at. I would recommend going to this store only to browse their selection and catalogues, and make actual purchases online or at USA Baby. BOTTOM LINE: if you are looking for consistent customer service throughout your transaction, LOOK ELSEWHERE. Pros: wide selection Cons: customer service, organization of the store more
