This place has great kabab. I will definitely go back again...highly recommend it. (1) kabab and rice:...

We went to this place for Valentines day. It was all empty, we should have gotten hit that itself. Anyway, when we looked for Valentine day special, it seemed pricey for 4 course ...

Pricy and tasteless food 7/22/2009

i was there for my valentine's day. I ordered a typical valentine dinner with starter and dessert. The entry was lab shack and chicken kabob. The lamb thigh is the cheapest part of the lamb because I remembered Emil from food network mentioned it, and very over cooked that it does not have any flavor anymore. The chicken kabob is chewy and dry. Pros: good location Cons: lamb kabob is way over cooked more

Worst Service! 8/3/2008

We wanted to support a locally owned restaurant so we randomly decied to try Alborz. Even though the place was completely empty, except for one family with a crying baby, the waitress tried to sit us in a small table in the back. We constantly had to keep asking for more water and twice had to get up to get the waitresses attention. Signiture salad was disappointing and WAY over priced. The food was good though, but the service terrible. I hope the owner reads these comments and make changes! more

ORDER FAMILY STYLE.. IT WILL COST YOU!!!!!! 5/23/2008

We have been to many Persian restaurants in the Seattle area but never have been so taken advantage of on price gouching. How can an owner of the restaurant act as if she was saving the customer money by having us order family style rather than individual dishes. Generally, large parties orders family style dishes to save cost on their meal. How is someone supposed to prove by ordering family style dishes how much food was actually given. The owner did not explain to us exactly how much food was going to be served. Just by looking at the price per dish we had assumed that it would come out to be cheaper going this way. Keep in mind that the individual dishes are priced between $10-$25. This is one place where you do not want to order any type of family style dishes because you will be had. Also if you have parties of 8 or more, the owner will charge your party a mandatory %25 tip in which she will also tax you on. So if you go here and order family style make sure you have a pen and paper to make sure you got charged for the right amount of food. And make sure you have a high credit card limit to pay up.... NOT WORTH ANOTHER TRIP.. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!! Pros: small and intimate Cons: very pricey for the amount of food you get more

Gouged big time!!! 5/12/2008

Made reservervations for a group. Avg. menu dinner item was apprx $10-25. We asked if we should order indiv. or family style and waitress (also owner) suggested family style would be cost us less. Cons: waaaaaay overpriced. owner not honest! more

Me and my Husbant went there with a group of people. We all felt that the food wasn't very good and the prices are high. more

Thinks too much of itself. 9/5/2007

I agree with the reviewer who said that this restaurant is nothing compared to what is found in LA. The atmosphere is what you'd expect from a strip mall in a nothing neighborhood, but with a thin veneer of trying to be nice. I arrived when it was completely empty and was still seated in the back near the kitchen. more

Stick to Kebabs 4/14/2007

The New Zealand lamp (called Damavand on the menu) is excellent. But avoid Gheymeh Bademjoon (eggplant stew). It tasted like it was made with Ketchup instead of real tomatoes. more

Pricey but not too shabby 2/1/2007

My family and I visited Alborz for dinner right after it first opened. The hostess (chef's wife?) got our orders mixed up with another table and as the result we waited a very long time for our food to arrive. Snobs we are, we give restaurants only one chance, so we didn't go back. Then a friend invited me over to dinner there last year and I had a much better experience this time. Since then we've been regulars. Pros: Best chicken and lamb kebab in town, friendly chef Cons: No draft beer, poor vegetarian selection, pricey more

Over priced, Low Quality food 11/4/2006

I feel sorry for people never had Persian cuisine, they think Alborz has good food. Low quality food and very over prised for the food they offer. Never will go back there again and never recommend to anybody else. more

Ridiculously Overpriced 9/7/2006

Coming from Los Angeles, I've eaten at countless fine Persian restaurants, but Alborz seems to forget that it's (a) NOT located in Beverly Hills or Malibu, and (b) that their business would increase by probably 1200% if their prices weren't so userous. The food is good, don't get me wrong, but we will never return until their prices come down to what most regular diners would consider ""reasonable"" - commensurate with their food, location, and service. more

FANTASTIC!!! 1/31/2006

One advice... Try the lamb shank!!! My favorites were the appetizer platter, the Soltani and the lamb shank. The Soltani is truly as the description says ""portioned to satisfy a Soltan""! Someone should have told me the lamb shank is two large pieces of mouthwatering lamb in the tastiest sauce. DE-licious. The portians are VERY generous so expect to have enough leftovers to take home. The service is simply lovely. The staff patiently explained the menu and chef came and greeted us personally. I loved the Chef's art on the walls. It's like a little Persian palace. If you want less expensive, lower quality food, I recommend one of the other Persian restaurants in town. But, if you want high quality Persian food in a lovely atmosphere, Alborz is the only place in Seattle. Pros: Friendly Service, Portions, Quality more
