I went to the office because my friend spoke highly of Dr. Thomas and his staff. In the beginning only I was a patient (with dental insurance). As time went on I felt this was the perfect office to bring my family. When my children (they have medicaid) started going I noticed a major change. During my appointments everyone was very attentive. They made sure to explain to me what dental work I needed, and the cost down to the penny! When my children went I didn't get the same reaction, and appointments were scheduled 3 months away JUST FOR A FILLING! Now this wasn't what made me upset. During an appointment my son had to have his fillings done, he informed me after the appointment how the doctor was telling his assistant how he wasn't making any money doing the filling on him because he has what Dr. Thomas referred to as "state insurance". He also overheard the doctor and assitance complain about other staff members. of course I have since then left this office. I've also notified Amerigroup about what is going on and we are working together to get enough complaints to have him dropped as a provider. If he won't treat our children equally then he doesn't deserve to collect even if it isn't enough to keep spoiling himself with luxuries. So parents with concern please call the Reps and let them know how our children are being treated, and show this doctor how we can change his business! The reps are following up with the office to find out if our kids are being accomodated. more
