Best Thai food we've ever had 3/29/2010

My husband & I LOVE Thai Spoon. The waitstaff is always so friendly, they are incredibly nice and will tell you their honest opinion when you ask about certain foods. We LOVE their soups, my husband gets both the tom yum and tom kha & I always get tom kha. If it isn't spicy enough you can add chili, & last time we learned that in Thailand they use fish sauce to make things saltier, instead of soy sauce. Educational AND amazing food! My favorite dish is the Phad Prik Basil and my husband always gets something different, so far we haven't found something we don't like. Everything tastes fresh and light. We could eat here every single day. Highly highly recommend Thai Spoon! Pros: Light, fresh, flavorful, delicious more

I love this place. 6/27/2009

This is my favorite place to eat. I love the atmosphere and the staff. My favorite is the combination dessert (with coconut ice cream). If you are looking for a romantic and not so expensive meal, this is your place. Try the satay and the red curry panang. Pros: Customer Service and Romantic Feel more

Great Thai Food In Round Rock 4/28/2009

I'm so glad we found this place. We used to go to Titaya's on N. Lamar all the time. (That place is awesome if you haven't tried it yet.) But the word is out on that place so it's always packed on the weekends. So now that we live in Round Rock, I decided to find a local Thai restaurant. Thai Spoon did not disappoint. It's very good with flavors on par with Titaya's. I typically get the basil fried rice with chicken. My girlfriend gets the pad thai. Both were extremely tasty. I got mine a bit too spicy (thai spicy) last time. The only thing I can complain about is the drink situation. They either need to invest in larger glasses, smaller ice, or both! The last two times I ordered a soda. Typically, one large soda will be good enough for an entire meal. With a smaller glass, one refill might be required. The staff at Thai Spoon refilled my drink--literally--six times on each visit! Between the small glass and the big ice, I'm guessing that I was only getting about 3 ounces worth of soda in each refill. That's crazy. With that being said, the waitstaff never flinched when they asked if I needed a refill. And that's the only complaint I have about this place. (If my girlfriend was writing this, she would add something about them not having the fresh spring rolls like Titaya's.) Pros: Excellent service, great tasting food Cons: Number of drink refills (see review) more

Delicious food. Great service. Reasonable Prices 4/13/2008

My fiance and I bought a house that is walking distance from this place about a year ago. We went a few times (maybe 3 - 5) in the first 6 months, then got caught up in other things. When we went back for the first time, they were very friendly and remembered us. It was a very warm, fuzzy feeling. \r \r I've never been disappointed by any of the flavors there. I love their Volcano Chicken. I get that meal often (for about $10) and end up with enough for the next day's lunch. \r Just the other day at lunch, the two of us got 2 appetizers, 2 salads, 2 meals and 2 combination desserts for under $30. We overordered since we couldn't agree on an appetizer. We took home the leftovers and have them for dinner that night. \r The combination dessert is awesome! I think it's intended for 2 people, but I always stuff my face until I disgust myself on it rather than sharing. It comes with warm sticky rice, mini banana egg rolls and either mangos or a scoop of ice cream. I like the coconut ice cream, but my fiance always goes for the Thai Tea. \r \r They do not sell alcohol there, but if you pick something up from the HEB or Moon Dance liquor store in the same lot, they will usually open it and serve it in glasses for you. \r \r I really cannot say enough nice things about this place. We have been more than 20 times now and have not had a single bad meal or experience. I very strongly recommend this place if you are anywhere near it and even if you can't eat it then, pick up a combination dessert for later. Pros: Delicious food. Great service. Reasonable prices. Cons: It's not a very large place. more
