Out of Pain and Living Life 5/19/2011

I've been a patient of Salama Chiropractic Center for several years. I'm very active and unfortunately very accident prone. It all started with a Kayaking injury which caused extreme pain in my leg due to a pinched nerve in my lower back. I could not walk. A friend recommended Dr. Salama. Having never been to a Chiropractor, I had no idea what to expect. I found that Dr. Salama and his staff wanted me OUT OF PAIN. He saw me that day. Within 3 days of adjustments I was living a pain free life again. He explained where the pain was coming from and was very specific on what I needed to do to strengthen my back. When i reached the point that it was safe to do the exercises, he actually did them with me and made sure I was doing them correctly. I also mentioned shoulder pain during a routine visit and he adjusted my neck which took care of that problem. A few years later, I hurt my back again...2 days before I was leaving for a cruise. Again, they got me in that day. I spent a more

The best Chiropractor ever!! 1/27/2011

When I met Dr Salama through a friend of ours he was very friendly. I was in a car accident years ago and started having lower back pains to the point I would be in tears. They would come and go here and there. When I started wakeboarding and wakesurfing I started to notice more pain and harder to stand straight up! I then called Salama Chiropractic and set up a appointment. They even got me in the day I called! I thought it would take a few days to get in. The staff made me feel like they knew me for years and made my visit very warm. They got me back to my feet and pain free very quickly! I am now back for a Sciatica lower back pain and is helping me through this painfull process. Im very thankful for all they do and the care that they have for me. I totally recommend Salama Chiropractic to all and to anyone who is seeking where to go! I have been to another Chiropractic Doctor and was very disappointed in their service!! Now that I have met and have been in the care of Dr Salama I more

Blessed to be a patient.... 12/1/2010

Salama Chiropractic Center has been an Oasis for me. When you walk in, there is clean air to breathe, greetings, warmth, friendly smiles, and genuine concern. I always feel special and am treated with care. What I love about this Chiropractor is that all steps taken in my treatment dealt with directing me along the path of Wellness. There are helpful, informative ways to learn about getting well such as videos, wellness magazines, and educational sessions on diet, and excersise. The doctors take the time to listen and understand your difficulties. The load I carry because of pain, weakness, frustration, fatigue, etc...becomes lighter with each visit. Each time I leave through the door, I feel restored and better able to cope with everyday stresses. For those of us with chronic conditions and health troubles, that is HUGE. I feel blessed to be a patient at Salama Chiropractic Center. With regular chiropractic adjustments, I feel better physically and emotionally. My life is gradually, systematically changing for the better. Thank you Doctors & Staff! God Bless. more

Top notch chiropractor 11/16/2010

Salama Chiropractic is, by far, the best chiropractic center. The staff makes your visits very enjoyable and scheduling a breeze. Dr. Salama is an astounding chiropractor! He takes the time to get to know you and explain to you you're condition, and how it is going to be treated. He has nearly eliminated my lower back and neck pain since I began treatment!\r Overall, Salama Chiropractic treats you like a friend, not a patient, making it a crack above the rest. more

Best Chiropractor Around! 11/16/2010

Salama Chiropractic Center has created a whole new yard stick when it comes to patient care and appreciation. You feel more like a friend than a patient when you step in the door because the staff is so kind and the doctor's take the time to get to know you. The work they perform is excellent, my lower back and neck pain are no longer problems, something I didn't expect so soon. To me, seeing Dr. Salama is more like a visit to the spa than a visit to the doctor's office. Thank You Dr. Salama CHAD more

A Great Chiropractic Establishment 3/12/2010

I have been to other chiropractors over the years and have found a lot of differences in them. One thing that I love about Salama Chiropractic is that they have a lot of different things available to their patients to treat different problems. I like the fact also that it is very easy to get appointments. Staff is friendly and courteous. Their equipment also seems very up to date. All in all, a great asset to my health and my families' health. more

My Story 3/12/2010

After the economic recession in the early 90's, we moved to a middle Atlantic state in search of work, where I took up a meager $10.00 / hour job. Yet, after 3 years I was able to start my own business and within 6 years of our relocation, we were grossing between $250000 and $300000 per year. We were incredulous at the way God had blessed our family. Excavation and contracting work was booming. On July 17, 2003, while kayaking with my 10 year old son, I suffered a devastating back injury. It was a warm, beautiful day to fish on the lake... After about 2 weeks in bed, I was able to begin some kind of work again, but I was never the same. I pursued all kinds of gadgets and tricks to keep my back functioning. But time and abuse took its toll, until the summer of 2008. I just could not work anymore. Simultaneously, the economy was entering the dip, before the really steep dive. Family, health and economic issues had mounted and I realized that I had hit a trifecta of sorts. The combination of physical pain, financial ruin and family fragmentation were like a perfect storm in my life. These waves were just so far over my head; I couldn't have managed them, even if my back was in excellent shape. We were able to sell our home and transition to North Carolina, where I hoped to find suitable - albeit non-physical work. Nothin' doin'! The economy got even worse and the pain had become overwhelming. Its grip radiated from my lower back up and across my shoulders and down each arm; and also worked down each leg into my toes. I often remarked how it felt like I had been walking hot asphalt all day while I just was getting out of bed. I thought surgery was inevitable. A shroud of gloom was enveloping me. My brother, a chiropractor in Virginia, reminded me that pursuing a non-invasive treatment method before submitting to cutting (and scars, adhesions, potential nerve damage and significant risks) was to be preferred. Even in my gloom of mind, that penetrated and made sense. He suggested spinal decompression therapy, which he had heard great things about. I immediately googled DRX 9000, in NC and Dr Salama's web page appeared. Then a good friend offered to provide for the cost of the treatments, which I could barter for with work, when I was able. With a thankful heart I went to my initial consultation on November 1, 2009. I began treatments on November 3rd, after doing a thorough exam, ex-ray and viewing the sequences of my MRI's. The staff at Salama Chiropractic was friendly, professional and had an understanding manner. After one week, I was suspicious of the fact that I was feeling better. It was two weeks of therapy began, that I realized one day...that I was walking with briskly and with ease. The oppressive pain had subsided so significantly, I couldn't believe it. I was so used to dragging my body around like I was dragging dead weight. Yesterday (1/18/10) was the last decompression treatment that had been initially prescribed by Dr. Salama. I will not overstate the fact by saying that I am totally cured. But what I can say is that the clouds have rolled back. The sun is out. Spring is coming. I am and hope to be free of oppressive pain. I also hope for the ability to return to the work force and contribute to the needs of people who really have problems - like those in Haiti. Thank you Dr. Salama, Ezzie, Saphia & Kerri. Not only has it been a pleasure, you all have given me a new lease on life. Sincerely, HFH Pros: I am free of oppressive pain more

Very Professional Staff and Doctor 2/17/2010

“ I was experiencing mid-back and lower-back pain that was similar to a very bad, constant, toothache. I was referred to Dr. Salama who diagnosed me as having scoliosis which is a curvature of the spine. After 6 treatments or adjustments my pain diminished 90-95%. Also I believe Dr. Salama and his staff to be people who really care about helping people with pain. Pros: I can get an appointment the same day. more
