I had a leak on an A-coil that turned into a total system replacement. Polestar came out the next day, diagnosed the problem, and gave me a bid. After shopping around, I went with Polestar and the were out the day after to do the job. I was so satisfied I used them to replace a rental unit?s AC two weeks later! more

Choosing a plumber can be a hit or miss proposition. I was extremely fortunate to discover Polestar Plumbing when I bought my house six years ago. Since then, I have turned to Polestar many times (two air conditioning units, one furnace, a sump pump, and a couple new faucets). I have found them to be knowledgeable, dependable and responsive. When one of the air conditioners that I bought from them wasn't performing to my expectations, Polestar did the right thing and replaced the entire unit. To make sure that all of my units keep functioning efficiently, I have a Polestar service contract that entitles me to two ""check-ups"" each year, free service call and a discount on parts. I highly recommend them. more

We have nothing but praise for Polestar Plumbing Inc.! We called them to repair our bedroom shower and below kitchen ceiling after experiencing a major overflow and leak. The need was immediate since out of town guests would be arriving soon. We were told to ask for Dennis Helm and found him to be very prompt and professional. Not only did he replace the shower valve and shower drain in record time, but he was very helpful to educate us for the future. After leaving, my husband gave Polestar the Big Thumbs Up......vowing to recommend them to everyone!! more

Polestar was recommended to us by our realtor when we bought our house in 2009. Unfortunately over the last few years we've had to make some major repairs and purchases to get the house back in safe and comfortable shape. Polestar has been there every step of the way. They explain everything to us thoroughly, show up at a moment's notice, cut us deals when they can, and will spend extra time on the phone with us when we need to follow up with questions we hadn't thought of earlier. These guys are like family to us now, and we highly recommend them to everyone !! more

I've used Pole Star for routine maintenance on my ac and furnace for years. They are the most polite and professional people I've ever dealt with in the industry. This time I came down stairs at 7:30 am to hear a strange noise which happened to be my ac unit. Upon calling Pole Star, they were our extremely fast. The ac unit was fried and I needed a new one. Upon talking with Jon, you feel very comfortable. I don't know the first thing about ac units, and when you ask them questions they will shoot you honest answers with your personal best interest in mind. In fact, I mentioned possibly buying a ""bigger"" more expensive unit and was talked out of it. They simply said ""if it was my house and I had to put a new unit in, I wouldn't put the bigger unit in.....there is a such thing as too large of a unit for a house"". If you choose not to use Pole Star for any ac or plumbing need, you've made a mistake! more

I have been a customer of Polestar Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning for several years and each year have been impressed with their timelyness and consistenly good service. Recently I heard disturbing noises in my air conditioner and called them immediately. They were at my house within 30 minutes and upon determining I needed a new air conditioner ( there was not any question because of the age of the air conditioner) they immediately installed one. I didn't need to make another service call for them to come out and do that. It was done immediately.They could not have been more polite and neat with the service. My questions were all answered to my satisfaction. I am grateful for such fine service and will most certainly continue to use them in the future., more

We had no prior experience with Polestar and requested a bid from them and two other companies for a new furnace and A/C unit. I heard of Polestar via the ValPak and knew nothing about them. We were very impressed with Jon's knowledge and ability to answer questions in layman's terms. He was very patient with all of our questions and was by far the best and most experienced person we had who provided bids. Polestar's bid actually came in very, very competetively and let us know they wanted our business. Joh also burned around our bid for us very quickly upon our request as we were wanting to make a decision fast. Their explanation and teaching regarding the new system was very good and their follow up and service plan can't be beat. I highly recommend them! more

My experience with this company was very good. I found them on the internet after being quoted ridiculously high prices for parts from another well known heating/cooling company that obviously spends ALOT of money on advertising and has to pay for it somehow I guess. I called Polestar to buy parts. I will start by saying I called on Saturday morning at 7:15 hoping they would be open later in the day since the furnace had messed up over night and it was rather cold in the house. A REAL person answered the phone at 7:15 and was VERY helpful in diagnosing the problem and they had the part in stock for 1/3 the cost that I was quoted the afternoon before. I went to pick up the part as they are a LOCALLY OWNED business and were actually open that day. Before it was over, I had taken a lot of the guys time having them explain the different systems that I had choices of for when I wanted to replace the system. I left happy with my parts. The more I thought about it, I decided to just replace the unit. They scheduled someone in to install the new system for a day later on Monday. Guys showed up 1 minute ahead of schedule which is great since folks here in KC seem to have issues with showing up at all sometimes. Unit was installed/tested by that afternoon. Techs were very polite and knowledgeable and cleaned up after themselves. My family had a very good experience with this company and recommend them to others. They are a Premier Lennox dealer and can have parts/entire systems in a very short amount of time since one of the distributorships for Lennox is based here in KC. Give them a shot before you just call one of the great advertising companies. what you see/hear is not what you always get.....What we did get was great service and a very comfortable house again :-) more

We made our discussion based on price, equipment offered, and initial customer service. I had a lot of questions after researching which equipment would be best for our home. Jon was very knowledgeable and helpful in answering all of my questions and explaining which system would be best for us. They were quick to get us scheduled and showed up professional, courteous, and on time. I was very impressed with their hard work, quality of work, and attention to detail. They did an amazing job with follow up as well. They made an appointment to ensure that everything was working properly and answer anymore question we had. We are so happy with our new system and it has greatly improved the comfort of our home. more

We have used Polestar for more than 30 years and now family also uses them. Thru the years we have had furnaces, air conditioning, hot water heaters, plumbing issues etc. etc. There service techs are great and follow up is good. more

Polestar installed my heating and ac 6 years ago and has done my annual service contract ever since. All of their service techs have been great .When I recently needed a new water heater Polestar was my choice.It was installed quickly and at a good price. more

I called this company to provide and requested estimate on doing some plumbing repairs that were required to sell my home. The plumber came to my home and spent a good deal of time evaluating our issues. He asked if it would be okay to send the estimates the following morning. After not hearing back from him the next day I called to inquire about our written estimates. I was informed that the company would not even be sending an estimate as they would not be available to do the work of installing a sump pump and repairing a drain in our home (both things they advertise on their site as services they provide). Basically, they refused to work with us after we welcomed them into our home and trusted them to provide the service for which we called on them to provide. Very disappointing. more

I have had very poor experience with this company. The straw that broke the camel's back was having to pay $500 to make sure a two year old air conditioner I bought from them stopped flooding my basement. This is the third time I have had to bring them out after the unit was leaking into my refinished basement, this time ruining the carpet in my spare bedroom adjacent to my unit. The second time it leaked they said they could not determine the problem When we called about the third leak the owner said don't worry we will make it right. However, when they showed up they claimed it had to be caused by the dust created by a remodeling project that was done over a year and a half ago. While they were willing to give a discount, they still wanted to charge over $240 to fix it. When I contacted the owner to suggest he not charge me for the fix since they had 2 earlier chances to fix it and I now had ruined carpeting in my spare bedroom, he was aggressive and rude and basically said I was trying to cheat him out of money because the problem was caused by my remodelers. My point was even if that was true (which I doubt) his company had several chances to fix this before it ruined my rug. The last tech that came out was pleasant and reasonable, but in the end I still had to pay over $500 to get a fix (we will see), plus a device to make it shut off automatically it it leaks again. I have never been upset enough to post an online review before, but my experience with this company (especially the owner) was poor enough that I feel compelled to post this. more
