Stayed at this hotel for NYE 05. The room was clean but very worn (I felt like I was staying at a hostel). I was going to give this Hotel a lower rating, but for the price (South Beach is amazing overpriced) and location it can't be beat. The cool lobby, staff and the happy hour well drinks (albeit Popov Vodka) more than make up for the shabby accommodations. Besides who really sleeps in their hotel room??? You can always catch up on sleep at the beach... Pros: Location, Bar - Happy Hour, Staff Cons: Room Quality more

We had a really great time at the Chelse 10/29/2004

I have been traveling across the US with my boyfriend; we have stayed in tons of places. We cant stress enough how great everything was at the Hotel Chelsea. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. The staff was so helpful and attentive. They brought extra towels and pillows as soon as my boyfriend asked for them. The front desk also made sure we were on all the best nightclub lists. Minutes from the beach, gorgeous shops and really great restaurants, we couldnt ask for more. When we come back to Miami we will definitly stay at the Chelsea. We dont even want to try a new place, it was just to perfect. Oh and they had free cocktails during happy hour, which was so great because who wants to spend money elsewhere when you can go back to chill at the hotel and grab a drink for free? Cool Pool scene 7/8/2004

The bar surrounds the pool to the hotel. It's very laid back and casual, but at nite people dress up. I think this is where Skin in Vegas got the idea from. They have a stage for live performers. There's pretty good space here to not have to bump into each other, plus it's outdoor. Hang around long enough, some drunky's bound to fall into the pool and out of the bar. Pros: Pool Scene more

The best thing about this hotel is its location. Close to the beach, shopping and the night life. Rooms, although clean are dull and depressing. They remind me of a college dorm . Beds are really ancient and uncomfortable, in fact one of them had a broken frame. Nice building but very much in need of renovation. I have certainly stayed in much better budget accommodation before and would not go back. Probably fine for students and backpackers though. Pros: Location Cons: rooms shabby, Beds uncomfortable more

Happy Guest 1/5/2004

I've stayed at many hotels in Miami Beach and this one is by far the best! The rooms are awesome. Very clean, spacious and stylish (Asian Contemporary style). There is a great outdoors patio where there is always a fabulous scene at night. The location is perfect, right in the middle of it all and only steps away from the beach. Right on South Beach. Also they have the best CD player and speakers in the room and you can find everything including sunglasses in the mini bar. The staff was really helpful and friendly. It was a great experience that I am looking forward to repeat. more

This is one of the coolest hotels . My girlfriends and I recently spent a week in SOBE. When I started researching places to stay that agreed with our budget all that I could find was the typical re-done, generic, and boring hotel. The Whitelaw had so much charm, and attention to detail in its design. It shows that a big effort was made in making it hip and unique. The staff was young and friendly and the manager even joined our party for coffee one afternoon. It felt like we were staying at a friends house. In addition, everything was included and taken care of. You need transportation; there is the hotels shuttle. You get hungry; theres free breakfast. Need a drink; theres an open bar every night. Cant get into a club? You get VIP passes. Need to shop ...beware! the best shops are next to the hotel more
