When we arrived to this dump,we were disappointed w/the sleazy atmosphere. We'd never been to South Beach & figured maybe we needed to get used to the art deco scene. We went up to our room, through the dark dungeon of a hallway,to find a small, uninviting room overlooking an alley. We immediately took the comforter offwhich was absolutely filthy & full of stains. We noticed the bed was made, but sheets were not clean. There was sand, hair, and a cigarette hole in them.We left for the beach & complained on the way out. When we got back, nothing had been done+we were greeted by a live b_g crawling in the middle of the bed.We complained again-nothing.Since it was a holiday weekend & we may not get another room,we grabbed sheets from the hall closet, & left to buy disinfectant & trash bags to put down between the mattress & sheets.Last straw was when we came back, stripped the bed of everything & found several bed b_gs (dead & alive) on the mattress. We left with our unpacked bags in the middle of the night.Luckily, we were able to find another room (& it wasnt raining like next night)at about 3 AM for 1 night.Next day,we went back to the Chesterfield & were offered a great place at another one of their upscale South Beach Group hotels. We were apprehensive, but checked it out.We had to speak to the manager before taking it & since she wasnt in until noon,we stayed put.At 11:30 AM we got a call asking if we wanted the room b/c someone else needed it.We said we did,ran to speak to manager, only to have her tell us the room had been given awayfive minutes after we hung up.We spent two out of our five day vacation searching for other accommodations & moving around in extremely humid weather.Did I mention our toilet didnt work? This is the most unprofessional & disgusting place.Still having nightmares.Ruined our vacation, dont let them ruin yours.
Pros: Live Insect Show
Cons: Not only ones to complain about this, yet nothing is done.
