BURGLARY AT SHELLEY, AVOID THIS PLACE! 1/26/2007

I stay at hote Shelley from Jan. 2-9. My nightmare started one day previous to my departure, as I walk\r into my room all my valuable belongings were gone, Ipod, some clothing, cell\r phone, jewerly and my laptop which I couldnt place in the safe box due to its\r size. In the laptop all my work, lost everything! \r \r To my frustration next day the manager named Daniel Mafra showed up (late)\r saying that the hotel wasnt responsable for my belongings which I already knew.\r He didnt sound very much interested in at least talk to the employees to find\r out who was working that shift and if someone saw anything. In fact I just\r received an e-mail on Jan. 24th from him saying that an ""International\r investigation"" were made (According to him the magnetic door chip were sent\r somewhere to verify if someone had gotten into my room by the time I was out)\r and mention that noone have gotten into my room (what a joke!). I went there\r next day to check if the locker was really removed. It was in the same place and\r the room rented out. I strongly think hotel employees are envolved\r in this matter, why on my last day there? why during the time I was out daily?\r Another possibility is that the maids (usually come back later in the day to\r bring towels which is delivered late at the hotel ) left the door opened.\r Talking to one of the front desk employees I discovered that it wasnt the first\r time it happened in that hotel, even recently, which was later comfirmed by\r Miami Beach Detective Mr. Robinson who is investigating the case, according to\r him guests from this place have been robbed in many occasions. \r \r Iam going throught this until the end and want to find out who entered my room\r and stole my belongings!\r I strongly suggest anyone to avoid this place, unless you want to take the\r chance. \r \r BURGLARY AT SHELLEY\r Police report # 07-1173\r 01/09/2007 Pros: Location, price Cons: Burglary in my room! Good enough? more

No cover never had, never will... yeah right! 1/6/2007

Used to be a regular but the cover thing made me mad they alway said "" no cover, never had one never will"" but guess what they have one during peak season for guys. I do like the place it's fun the pool on Saturdays is great, with the hot body contest. Happy hour has good deals probably one of the best on the beach. It is usually overcrowded and over priced at nights. But if you are looking for a place to watch sports, hang out with buddys by the pool, or pick up some drunk spring breakers it's a good time. Pros: pool, happy hour Cons: there is a cover, can get overcrowded more

Great first night in SoBe 1/3/2007

This was the first bar my friend and I went to and we definitely stayed awhile! The crowd is a nice blend of people who range in age from 20s to late 30s. Drinks were good- even the strawberry margarita which at most places is pretty awful. Come here w/ friends and expect to make some new ones !! Reminds me of my favorite bar from college, except that this one is a bit more mature and outdoors :) Pros: fun crowd, large, outdoors, tables, no wait to get in Cons: smallish dance floor more

Great, fairly priced Thai 1/3/2007

My friend and I went here a few nights ago and were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful food and ambiance of Thai house. The restaurant is very peaceful, with antique Buddhas placed throughout the room. The pad thai was excellent and our meal overall was quite inexpensive compared to the rest of what's in SoBe. The wine list is small but ridiculously cheap ($4 a glass!!) and the staff is very kind and polite. Pros: pad thai, ambience, servers, vegetarian options more

delicious food, amazing service! 12/30/2006

I was concerned when I arrived because I went to Mark's on a Friday night at 7pm and it was barren! However, it appears that everyone in South Beach hasn't yet gotten the memo- Mark's is awesome. The servers were incredibly attentive (my water glass was never more than 1/2 empty). The food came quickly, and it was very well plated. The flavors were incredible - I had the salmon (melts in your mouth!) Pros: ambience is beautiful, servers are highly attentive Cons: pricey more

Worst Service Experience Ever! 12/3/2006

This Hotel's staff philosophy is; ""The customer is never right""! They seem to have no long term customer relationship skills. The management obviously relies on it's prime location and trendy Interior Design. more

Must go location 11/14/2006

The place to go anytime. I enjoyed visiting the fun atmosphere every night I was in SoBe. The music is constant, either live or DJ mixed, it will keep the crowd going all night. If you do not go to The Clevelander, you are missing out. Pros: Music, dancing, great crowd Cons: parking more

Chic, comfortable dining room. Consistently good food. Excellent service. 11/6/2006

Mark's is a South Beach find. Located in the lovely Art Deco ""Hotel Nash"", Mark's combines a lovely ambiance, an exceptionally creative menu, consistently excellent service and a wine list to please most any palete and wallet. From the greeting by the host/manager to whatever amazing desert you select, Mark's will be a memorable experience. A great place to entertain for business or a special occasion, you may find yourself back here on a weeknight because it's worth it. Pros: Fine Dining - not stuffy. Exceptional food and wine menu. Cons: Parking more

Worst Customer Service 10/1/2006

When I first logged on to view the pictures, I was drawn to the Nash by the three different types of swimming pools advertised. There is no salt water swimming pool nor is there a mineral water one. There are three dirty swimming pools that nobody gets into. I never saw one person in the pool. I had to switch rooms because the air conditioner had a loud noise and I couldn't sleep. The manager at the front desk was extremely nasty and unaccomodating. He was rude and seemed to be angry all the time. I would never stay at the Nash again. Pros: In a good location. Cons: Horrible service. more
