I recently had Doug replace an old furnace with a new 95% furnace. Doug took the time to explain all the options; his advice was genuine and straightforward, not just sales hype. He and his son were prompt and did excellent work for a competitive price, and I've been really happy with the new furnace. more

After learning I needed a new furnace and getting an estimate I fortunately found Doug online and saved about $1300.00. He definitely knows what he's doing and takes pride in his work. Doug, along with son Doug and big John were prompt, worked efficiently, were more than willing to explain what they were doing, cleaned up and are nice guys. Absolutey one of the best! Great service, very professional, it is a pleasure to have had Northend Home Heating install and service our heater. We had a problem with our furnace Sat. 1/14/12 (the first snow in Seattle). We called Doug and he set up an appointment that day, we thought we would have to wait until Monday. He then called and said he would be arriving an hour earlier, (what a concept). The problem was quickly fixed, not the furnace at all but the wire connection to the thermostat. As other reviews have said, do yourself a favor and call Northend Home Heating. Thanks to Doug we had a warm weekend. more

If you want great service, professional workmanship, reasonable rates do yourself a favor and call Northend Home Heating. Doug installed our furnace about 7 years ago. We had a problem with the furnace on 1/14/11, a Saturday and the first day of snow in Seattle. We called Doug and he set us up with an appointment that day. We were expecting to wait at least till after the weekend. Doug arrived an hour early, (what a concept!) fixed the problem which was with the electrical hook up with the thermostat, not the furnace. If we were to give him a rating it would be a 10 out of 10! more

Doug did a great job on our furnace. He came over on a Saturday morning, gave us an inspection, and carefully explained what was going on with the old unit. He quoted us a fair price for appropriate new equipment, without trying to up-sell us anything we didn't need. We got a second quote, which was a tiny bit cheaper, but we went with Doug because of his warantee, experience, and good reviews. On installation day, Doug and his crew were on time, well prepared, courteous, and efficient. He explained the new system to us, and even made some improvements to the ductwork before he left. The crew cleaned up the site very nicely, and left nothing behind but shiny new equipment that works. more

We purchased a furnace on-line and couldn't find anyone to install it. Doug found some time in his schedule, installed it at reasonable price and we couldn't be happier with the results. A fantastic company. more

Doug previously installed our furnace and did our duct work and did a great job updating our system. But the original furnace did not quite work properly. After multiple trips to trouble-shoot it (often on weekends), he replaced the entire model to make sure we had a furnace that worked properly 100% of the time (not just 96% of the time). I could not be more appreciative nor could I recommend their services any higher. It seems, in this modern day and age, like no one gives this type of quality service any more. Doug is clearly unique in both his quality of service and level of professionalism. more

Doug and his crew installed a new furnace, heating system, and gas pipe to the home I'm currently building for my family. As a builder, foreman, and carpenter for 15 years I've worked with a lot of subcontractors. Doug and Northend are absolutely trustworthy and go above and beyond the call. Not only did they not hit me with change orders, but they did all the nice extras which are the mark of a experienced and dedicated professional. I cannot comment on the quality of service. However, today at 2:40PM I witnessed the driver of the NORTHEND HOME HEATING truck blow through two red lights at the intersections of Ballinger Way and 244th St SW and 244th/Gateway Blvd near thier location. The lights weren't yellow and turning red, the lights were RED and STAYING RED and HAD BEEN RED before he approached the intersections. I stopped and waited at the light, noting the name on the truck. Since I live very close by, I looked them up and drove to thier location. Sure enough, it was the same truck I saw. Inattentive, dangerous driver with bad driving skills. Learn to drive! more

Doug and his crew installed a new gas furnace and an Accuclean whole home air cleaner in our home. They were incredible.... they went above and beyond to do the job right. In the process correcting other problems they found in the way. They double piped something that was unrelated to the original job, as well as fixing a pipe that was installed incorrectly by someone else. They went under the house to check all of the duct work and left the place cleaner then when they found it. I would recommend this company to everyone, in fact, I have already started spreading the word.Thank you Northend Home Heating for all your hard work! more

On time. Efficient. Neat. Reasonably priced. What more can you ask from a company like this? I do home repair and remodeling and had seen Doug at jobsites. In addition, we both exhibit at the Phinney Neighborhood Association Design and Remodel Fair so when the time came to replace our gas furnace, he was one of two that I had bid. We are happy with the equipment, the experience, and the price. more

Good: Not only were the Hamilton's brothers knowledgeable and great priced, they went above & beyond my exceptions, taking a look & REPAIRING an old fireplace I had been told would need to be replaced! Doug also rewired my breaker panel to accommodate my new furnace as the wiring had been wired terribly wrong.. Other: And if all of this was not enough, they are perhaps they only service technicians I have ever had in my home that not only were not afraid of my dogs, but made an effort to engage them and gave them KISSES!!! Northend Home Heating exceeded our expectations in every way. We needed to replace our furnace. Doug offered a better price than two other companies, and made a clean deal, without trying to sell me anything I didn't need. Doug, John, and Ron installed the furnace and did some ductwork to significantly improve our heating system and dispose of old materials (including asbestos). They threw in a few extras, like a new thermostat, an extra filter, and a great warranty on labor. When the job turned out to be more complicated than we thought, Doug explained clearly what the problem was, and maintained his original price tag. All of the work was done quickly, cleanly, and with a good sense of humor. I would highly recommend Northend Home Heating to anybody in the Seattle area, and will definitely call them back for our future heating needs. more

The crew over at Northend Home Heating came in to bid our job along with 3 other well-known HVAC contractors. Doug wasn't trying to sell me something that I didn't want (or need), he didn't speak to me like I was stupid, he came in with a very competitive price, and he appreared to really know his stuff. I can't say the same for the other guys we had come in to bid it. So, we had them come in to install a new furnace and rerun all of our ducting to accomodate a basement remodel. Doug, John (his borther), and Douglas (his son) came in and did the whole job in two days. The custom duct work is beautiful/clean/neat, it was performed exactly as we had discussed that it would be, and they even swept up the floor at the end of each day. I got more than I expected to get for my money. And when it came time to settle up the bill there were NO hidden fees what-so-ever, there was no deviation from the quoted bid price, and so there was no squabbling over money that usually ruins a good experience with a contractor. These guys seem to have a theory that working hard, being honest, and treating people fairly will pay off in the long run for their business. Many other contractors just try to pry as much money out of you as they can - those guys should take some lessons from the guys at Northend Home Heating. Not only am I happy with the job performed but Doug and his family have also just locked me up as a loyal customer for life for any HVAC need that ever comes up. I can't sing their praises enough. Bottom line: get a few bids on your job so you can make some comparisons for yourself up front but keep your BS-meter close at hand and at the end of the day choose Northend Home Heating to do the work for you. You will NOT be dissapointed! more

Doug was highly recommended to me by a friend (and contractor) so my expectations were already high when I called him. Of the three companies I received bids from, he had the lowest price and provided the best explainations/suggestions. His team arrived on time and they were courteous, professional, and witty. They finished an install of a new HE furnace/filter box, hot water tank, and cold air return faster than expected (~6 hours) even though they had to work through a crawl space with <=18" clearance and an attic with a low pitched roof with <=4' clearance at peak. Being an older home, there were additional HVAC issues such as disconnected ductwork that they took the initiative to repair as well. Doug also provided copies of receipts/paperwork for the current rebates. As promised, they left the area cleaner than before, not to mention the new install looks much neater than the previous one. I would definitely use Northend Home Heating again and would absolutely recommend to anyone. more

Doug and his team at Northend Home Heating are a godsend. I called him in a panic earlier this week because our furnace went out and it has been sub freezing all week. He was at my house that afternoon with a very reasonable quote on my furnace and was there with his crew the next morning. 5 hours later I had a new furnace and the house was toasty.
