Bad Experience 11/15/2006

After reading such great reviews, I went to New Image Salon and unfortunately had a bad experience. I paid $170 plus tip, for regular hair color and haircut and the girl did not do a good job. My roots are red now and the rest of my hair is brown, as for the haircut. My hair looks like I never cut it and I went there about two weeks ago.\r \r I would not recomend this salon. I think there are many other salons in the bay area that do a better job and are more reasonable with pricing.\r \r Good luck! Cons: Overpriced and unprofessional more

Best haircut ever! 11/12/2006

After moving to the Bay Area, I had a horrible time finding a good hair stylist. I made an appointment within a couple of days. Stacy gave me a very season-friendly haircut that was easy to take care of. She had great ideas about what would work and was very helpful it cutting my hair for donation. I loved the cut and everyone else who saw it did too! Pros: Deals online at Web site, great haircut more

Excellent threading service; the best I've found in the Bay Area! Great customer service! Quick appointments! 9/22/2006

Since I have been in the Bay Area, I have tried five different threaders. New Image Salon's threader by far is the best!!! She was very careful, kind and made me feel really comfortable. She was also able to correct a very poor eyebrow waxing job I had done at another salon. When she was finished my face was very smooth and glowing! I highly recommend New Image's threading service to anyone! FYI: It is my understanding that New Image's threader is only there on Saturdays, but call to verify this. Wonderful Service! 9/8/2006

I choose to japanese straighten my hair at New Image Salon because of all the great reviews I read here and the decent price (it starts at $350, which is much less than a lot of other places). All the workers were very friendly, and Michelle, who did my hair, was spectacular! My hair came out perfectly, and she was very patient even though the process is outrageously long. The atmosphere is comfortable, the place is clean, and overall it was a lovely experience. more

so i first went into new image in june and since then i'm practically there every week! they do EVERTHING for me! i get my hair done by MARY my eyebrows done my AKEE, and my facials done my LARISSA. they are the BEST! such great customer service and treatment! the whole staff is friendly and makes you feel like you're at home! great color 6/19/2006

i first went here for a perm as a ""correction"" for a horrible haircut i got somewhere else. stacy was great. i came back again recently to get color from mary and she did a wonderful job. she knew i liked to do things differently and gave me a unique look. the only downer is that it's more expensive than my other salon in san francisco. they also do threading which is rare in the east bay. more

I had a good experience at New Image Salon. Mary did my highlights just right, and I love the layered cut she gave me. It's so easy to style on my own too! I am very happy with the results. Mary does a great job and is very sweet. She even brought me back a frappachino from Starbucks while I waited! Thanks Mary, wish I could take you with me (we're moving to Virginia in July!) I went to New Image Salon and Spa thinking I was just going to get a cut, but I walked out with a new hair style and great highlights! I was nervous about highlighting my hair, since it was my first time, but Mary did a wonderful job! I told her what I wanted and she gave me great results! The staff are friendly and helpful and I would definately refer New Image Salon and Spa to friends. Thank you Mary for a job well done!!! more

A disappointment 5/22/2006

After reading the positive reviews on this website, I decided to have my haircut with one of the stylists at this salon. I'm sorry to say that my experience did not match the other people had as described in their reviews. My haircut turned out to be choppy and uneven and I felt uncomfortable during my visit. It's unfortunate because I had read the reviews on this website and on Yahoo, hoping that my experience would be the same. Great Skills 5/10/2006

My hair was thinning, falling out, extremely brittle, the color would only hold for 2 washes and my front scalp was exposed from the hair loss. I spent a fortune on hair products but nothing worked. Within the first appointment with Akee, she color corrected my hair, used a deep conditioning treatment and gave me a great cut. I received so many complements. She also recommended a at home treatment to improve the overall health of my hair. It has been an entire year since my first appointment with Akee and it is as if I have a brand new head of hair. It is shiny, smooth, and much fuller and has volume again. This is after having Akee trim and touch up my hair on a regular basis, following her at home treatments and just trusting her with what best to do for my hair. more

Hi everyone I just want to say I got my hair done (cut, highlighted, straightend) with Mary @ new image and she was AMAZING my hair looks soooo amazing ! Mary took my hair from flat and boring to bouncy & beautiful! I gave her an idea of what I wanted my hair to look like and she did just what I had in mind! I love the color (she wasn't afraid to give me the color I wanted) and the cut. I will definetely be back. It's not cheap, but it's worth it. more

Amazing hair color 4/20/2006

The day I went to the salon I was about ready to give up and just cut off all of my hair. Mary was awesome. Not only did she give me fabulous color she cut my hair better than anyone has ever done in the past. I'll continue to make the drive from San Jose to Fremont just to see her! I walked in with no appointment because I really needed a haircut. Mary did my cut on her lunch break...I thought that was extremely nice. I am very happy with the cut she gave me and can't wait for her to do my color! more
