New Image Salon and Spa

I went into this shop with my curly hair destroyed by Uppercuts and Michelle did a miracle!! I had my curly hair straightened by Uppercuts and my hair was soo damaged, I thought I would have to cut ALL my hair off and start over. \r \r I was willing to pay up to $150 just to fix what Uppercuts damaged. I ended up paying not even close!! Michelle really work a miracle with my damaged hair. I know have this beautiful bob and I feel like Posh without the Beckham!! I have gotten compliments all day on it which makes me feel like a million. \r The staff helped me also by humoring my little one while I got my hair done. Michelle even cut my 3 year old's hair and made her even more beautiful!! \r \r I will DEFINTELY bring my whole family here and will recommend this place to everyone!\r \r \r Pros: Everything!! more

My friend and I were greeted by warm and sweet people as soon as we stepped into the place. I had thought about doing my hair for quite some time and my friends recommended a couple of places, however, when I made phone calls, no one picked up so I decided to do a search online and found a lot of good reviews from other people about this place. This was the first time I had any professional coloring/highlighting/stripping done to my hair and I was VERY pleased. The drive was not a hassle at all to me and my friend was so pleased with the turnout of my hair that she is planning to go there for hair coloring/highlighting done specifically by Mary. She was very patient, sweet, and honest. I appreciated her hard work and can't wait to show off my hair to my boyfriend, family, and friends!!! more

I was here visiting my family from another state. Even though I grew up here, I didn't know of any place I could get my hair done. I found Mary at new image salon and she was Awesome, Super friendly, easy to talk to , and did exactly what I wanted her to do with my hair. I was able to get in right away and she did an amazing color job on my hair. Thanks Mary!! I love my hair! more

I now have a new favorite salon to go to ..simply due to the fact that Ann works there! New image salon is upscale and beautiful. I highly recommend this salon to anyone who needs a change from the usual overcrowded salons that employ staff that rush to finish with your hair. Ann, this wonderful young lady did a great job at picking out the right color and style for my hair. She is precise with every cut she makes. All in all, I love this salon!! more

Note: This is a revised review.\r \r Hi New Image & Citysearchers! So, heres the deal. I went in last week to see Libby, whom I have known for a while now, but she is new at New Image and I wanted to show her my support by coming in. She has done my hair before, but something has changed, she is even better than before, and before rocked hard! ha! Libby is not only a friend, but she was my stylist first in Alameda and I admit I am hooked. My roommate is a stylist and I dont even let him do my hair...and even being a hairdresser himself, he complimented my hair! Libby took my messy tresses and created a hip rockin faux hawk with an edge, but yet the ability to calm it down for work (very kay to my job). Anyways, I have told my friends, family, co-workers and customers about Libby. All i can say is no matter if your male/female, does not matter with this gal, she can rock any style, any color, she is a rockstar. Thanks Libby, lova ya! more

I am visiting here for the summer and did not know where to get my hair done. I read the reviews and thought I would give Mary a try. I was very happy with the service and especially with my hair cut. She sat down with me and took the time to figure out what I wanted, and she really listened because she did EXACTLY what I wanted. Michelle is awesome! I've been getting my hair cut from Michelle for about a year, and it is the best it's ever looked in my adult life. I have curly/wavy thin hair that most hair stylists don't understand. Michelle layered my hair and it's been very easy to grow (and looked good the whole time as well). I highly recommend her, and if you need additional information, she is very patient and open if you want a consultation. more

When I first went to Mary, I was really nervous because i have difficult hair to deal with. It's naturally curly and I like to wear it straight. I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but when ever I get my hair cut, people were always cutting it too short because they wouldnt remember it was curly. Mary is perfect. She has NEVER made a mistake on my hair. She is the very first hair stylist that I have been back to over and over again. She recently did a color and it's so beautiful. She helped me pick it out and I love it. I have been to the Salon a handful of times and whenever I go it, they treat me like they have known me forever. I won't go anywhere else and I won't ever have anyone else but Mary touch my hair. I don't know what I will do when she is on maternity leave! Don't go Mary!!!! I have been searching for a hairdresser for the past 3 years and I am SO lucky that I finally found Michelle at New Image Salon! I have short hair so it is extremely hard to find some skilled enough to give me a cute and feminine haircut - until I met Michelle! She is not only friendly but she also knows how to cut and style. From my experiences with Michelle, I can show her a picture of a hairstyle and she will replicate it EXACTLY; I can attempt to tell her what I want it to look like (i.e. ""I want it a little shorter in the back, but you know longer here and here but you know cute."") and through my nonsense jabbering she makes it look like what I was thinking in my head. New Image Salon is a great place, with wonderful service, but more importantly they have Michelle! more

I'm very particular about who does my hair and it took me two months to give Michelle a try. I've had my hair done at Stacy Monroe's and Visual Image with good results, but the vibe at those salons just sucked. I couldn't connect with the stylists and client-hairstylist relationships are VERY important to me. I am sooo glad I took a chance!!! Michelle ROCKS! She is personable, knowledgeable, and COMPETENT. She is very keen about hair color and the latest cuts that fit your face and lifestyle. I'm a mom and a workaholic, so I wanted a haircut with versatility and ease. I asked for highlights and a new hairstyle, and with having asian hair, highlights can go wrong at any moment, but it turned out perfect!! I love my new hair. If you want a great experience - make sure you take a few minutes before your appointment to search for some hairstyles that you like so that she can get an idea of what you're style may be. Taking 2 minutes to talk about what you want to do with your hair and what has/has not worked well with your hair will make all the difference, too. Prices are on the high end (as is Stacy Monroes & Visual Image), which I had already anticipated, but they have coupons on their website that you can take advantage of. \r \r PROS: Open SUNDAYS (w/Appt)!!! I have been going to New Image for past year and from day one Michelle cut my hair. After my first visit\r every one ask me who cuts my hair , and i have been sending my family and friends to Michelle.\r She gives all her customer 5 star service and she make sure that you leave the Salon very satisfied. \r If any one want's to look good and have the best hair cut they should really give Michelle a chance to chage their look for the best. ****look at the specials on the website before you get your hair done****\r Mary did an awesome job on my cut and color--I will go back! \r \r ****Look at the 'Specials' on the website before you go in to the shop****\r My only complaint is that they have specials on their website, but don't extend them to the customers unless the customer mentions they saw it on the website. I found out after the fact that I could have saved $50--The website special says if you have a color job costing more than 100 you will receive a free hair cut. I spent A LOT of money in the salon on my hair and on product--had they mentioned the special her tip would not have changed. Not the end of the world, but disappointing. more

They have great service - always friendly and Mary's does a great job - I actually go back which is rare for me. :) Tons of compliments on my hair. Cons: Parking but theres a lot a little down the way more

I went to see Shery today - it was my first visit with her. She is awesome!! , i was going to another place in Fremont for threating but they screwed up my eye brow shape really bad. Sherry spent at least 35 min with me, she exactly knew what i wanted!, she redesigned and cleaned up my eyebrows really nice. I was able to keep my natural shape- which was exactly what i wanted\r \r I am going back there next Saturday for a pedicure, then hopefully for a haircut and some highlights. The rest of the staff seems to be very nice and professional. Overall, it was a great experience , thanks Shery! more

Shawna at New Image has been cutting my hair for years, even before she came to this salon. She does a great job on my razor cut fade haircut. When I moved to Fremont it took me a long time to find a stylist who did it the way I want, and Shawna does it just right--as another stylist commented one time as Shawna was cutting my hair, ""the perfect fade. "" She also does a fine job on my beard and eyebrows. Highly recommended! more

We think as everyone else today we where very skeptical in hiring a moving company, because our last experience wasn?t great, but from the moment we received your phone call to our inquiry to move our loft to the minute the crew left to move our stuff in storage and the new place, we knew what was going on. Flat Rate stayed in great communication via email and phone about our inventory list and move date. Everything happened exactly as it was scheduled. Everyone we spoke with was friendly, helpful, courteous and well-informed. Joseph (Foreman), Jose M. and Abundio were polite and courteous. They worked fast, but took care and caution with our valuables. When they unloaded our things at the delivery destinations, the crew was on time and super fast! I loved Flat Rate and would go with them again, no doubts! Moving is never fun or easy, but this is absolutely as good as it gets. My first time going to this salon was a great experience! First of all, the staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. Mary was my stylist and I told her I just wanted something short, low maintenance and would look good on me. What she did was beyond my expectations and her attention to every detail displayed experience and skill. If you are like me and don't know what type of haircut would look good on you, I recommend going to this salon. They will find a look that works for you! Since my hair stylist moved away to Oregon over one year ago, it was very challenging to find a stylist to meet my needs. I have a lot of length in my hair, not to mention the fact that I'm very, very particular about the way that my hair looks (I think I can speak for most women). I finally found New Image Salon & Spa last year and was so thrilled to have found such a wonderful stylist. I was also very happy with the atmosphere in the salon and the staff always seemed to have such an upbeat, yet professional energy about them. I have to admit, when I heard the news that my stylist was no longer with New Image, I was weiry to have someone else work with my hair. Then last week at New Image, I met Rami who is not just a professional but an artist when it comes to hair. She made me feel so comfortable instantaneously. She listened to what my preferred style is and suggested what would look good on me. I have to admit that I was very nervous, but after I left the salon and as a few days went by I felt very cofortable and happy with Rami's work. I have been receiving a lot of positive compliments since having my haircut, thanks to Rami. Even the conversations that we had during the visit was as though I've known her forever. I had just moved to the area and my hair DESPARATELY needed color and a cut. I saw the reviews here and decided to give Akee a try. What a find! She gave me better color than I'd ever had and the cut was a snap to style (and I have goofy hair!). My husband calls her an artist, and she is indeed!
