Fun for the whole family! 4/4/2006

The Natural Science Center is the best-kept secret in Greensboro! With many rooms full of exhibits and three nice-sized play areas indoors, this is the perfect place when the weather keeps us inside. And they are in the middle of a multi-million dollar renovation outside that will be incredible when they finish! The minimal amount they charge for a year-long family membership is worth every penny and more! more

A treasure of a center! 12/14/2005

The Natural Science Center has been one of my favorite places since my own childhood, and is even better now that I have three kids of my own. Membership for city residents, at under $50/year, is a true bargain, and well worth it. I love being able to stop by on the way home from school for an hour or so, or to be able to head over to the Center on a rainy day. Some of the exhibits are still the same as they were when I was a kid, but the Center is in the process of a huge expansion and upgrade. The new exhibits are all top-notch, and even the old ones are enjoyable despite showing their age. The basement of the center, with the sea-life touch tank and the reptile/amphibian petting room is my family's perennial favorite. So are the lemurs! We nearly always end our visit with a stop at the interactive play area, where the kids can play in a pretend grocery store, make up a puppet show, or do a dozen others things. more

What a great place for kids! This museum, planetarium, and mini-zoo has so much to see and do, kids are consistently entertained. There is also plenty to interest adults, as well. The center runs a variety of exhibits and shows designed to teach about physical sciences, biology, and zoology. Plan to spend a few hours. Also, the center sponsors special events, such as bunny day around Easter, Dinosaur day, and AniMania, which are included with admission. Discount tickets are often available through local entertainment or attractions books. more

The Natural Science Center has been a landmark in our city for a long time now. My children went there in middle school, and children continue to go there every year. It is a combination science center with a lake and playground and park connected to it. There is great parking and lots of open space. It is the perfect thing to do with your children when you are looking for something fun to do. more

for older children 8/18/2005

The Natural Science Center is a fun place to take older children to. My three year old does get a little board here now that the petting zoo is temporarily closed down but still enjoys short visits here. They have a small play area for children approx 7 and under and another area for children approx 4 and under but they aren’t that exciting. I have taken my nieces who are 7 there and they loved it. They found everything very interesting and it really is an educational outing for the whole family. We look forward to having a membership here when our son gets older. There is a pro to the location of this event and that is that it backs onto Country Park. Which is a great place to go when you’re finished at the Science Center. You can feed the ducks or just walk around. more
