AVOID this plumber at all costs! 12/15/2011

The owner of this plumbing ""company"" came out to our house three times and nothing he did fixed a thing. Instead of simply snaking the kitchen sink, he convinced us that he needed to redo the piping. $250 later, the kitchen sink still doesn't drain properly! And, there is a leak in the new piping he installed. He also tried to tell us we needed to replace our toilets instead of snake the line. Glad we didn't fall for the one. He installed a new shower faucet and he installed it crooked and rust comes out when we turn it on. He will not answer the phone nor will he return our messages. It seems to be a major inconvenience for this guy to work at all, much less honor his service. I'm inclined to believe he is a fraud. more

My experience with this company 7/9/2011

On 7/7/2011, Mr. Sturges, Owner of Middle Tennessee Plumbing was dispatched to my home by my home warranty company. I had been notified by the utility company that my meter had shows running of 24 hours, indicating a leak. After notifing my home warranty company, Mr. Sturges showed up almost an hour late. He inspected my property, and came to the conclusion my leak was between the meter and my foundation, indicated by turning off the water at my foundation, and the meter continued to run. He wrote that the leak was in my yard, and as a result, my Home warranty company, declined the claim. \r \r Not knowing any different, I contacted 3 contractors through Service Magic to give me an estimate to repair/replace the line from the meter to my house. The first plumber that arrived wanted to verify that with the shut off in the off position at my foundation, the meter would run. When he shut if off, meter stopped turning, indicating there was not leak in the yard. However, if I had taken Middle Tennessee Plumbing, at their word, and simply had the unnecessary repair done, the cost would have been $1200. This plumber suggested I get Middle Tennessee Plumbing back out to find the ""real"" leak.\r \r The second contractor showed up to quote, and he did the identical thing and found the same thing that there was no leak in the yard. He went one step further, and went under my house, found the leaking area, and isolated one bathroom as the culprit. It turned out to be a toilet bowl seal, that he voluntarily said he would fix, but instead, I did the 5 minute repair myself, and the problem is solved for a $2 rubber washer.\r \r Very disappointed in my experience with this company, and have notified the Warranty Company the same. Had I taken this ""professional diagnosis"" as reported, I could have been out $1200 for a $2 repair. I've also notified them that Middle Tennessee Plumbing is not welcome on my property in the future. \r \r Just for the record, when I thought I was going to have to foot the bill for this repair, I contacted Middle Tennessee Plumbing to give me a quote on the repair. Not surprising, they did not return my call. Watch out for the company. more

Everyone customer should post a comment 1/25/2009

I am a plumbing contractor from NJ and read the 2 reviews that are posted. I think most people are aware of the fact that in general, people are more apt to write about something that disturbed them, than write a letter of recommendation. That's human nature! Not to be swayed either way, but; to be the devil's advocate, in my plumbing business, I have done work for warranty companies. Warranty companies pay the contractor a highly discounted labor rate for services, if you want to call it pay. So, like in any business, one must decide wherther to pay greater attention to paying customers vs warranty work. The same thing also happens in every business. Also, in a busy period, unfortunately, some customers will feel neglected. Customer service should always be of paramount importance. As far as second guessing repairs: I have rebuilt many faucets in my day and am always in the presence of customers who rely upon a third party, after the fact. In my experience, there are very few faucets that warrant repair and to avoid customer dissatisfaction, it has been my duty to advise my customers that on most faucets, a replacement is a better investment. It's like fixing a 20 year old car consistently, compared to relacing it.\r Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but usually, and understandingly so, only the unhappy customer is the one who shares their frustration. More satisfied people need to speak up, as I'm sure this company has hundreds, if not thousands of customers after more than 20 years in business. Pros: Many satisfied customers Cons: 2 very dissatisfied home warranty customers more

Terrible! How is this company still in business? 10/16/2008

This company is horrible. They will not call you back, and if you finally get them out to your home, they will not fix your plumbing. We, too, were forced to use them through a home warranty company. They came out and replaced the drain seal in a bathtub. A week later, the same problem was still going on. So, I called the home warranty company and never heard back from the plumber. Finally, I talked to the rude old lady at Mid TN Plumbing. She said she had left numerous messages with me and that I would not call her back. She also lied to the home warranty company and told them that I would not call THEM back! Again, I talked to the lady. She said her husband was on the way to my home. Finally! I waited for over an hour then left. I called her back (and of course they did not answer) so I left a message that I had not heard from her husband. After about 30 minutes, she called and said she quoted me the hours from 8-12. Complete B.S.! We never even had an appointment set up! I think these people need to get their stories straight. Then she threatened me that she was going to call the home warranty company and tell them that SHE can't work with ME! Ooooh, this place makes me so mad.\r \r Do not use this company, especially if assigned by a home warranty company. They are simply going to take your deductible and run. How can these people call themselves plumbers?!\r \r The only reason they get 1 star is because there is no option for zero stars. This place IS going to rip you off...that is if you can get them on the phone or out to your home. DON'T USE THEM! Cons: everything more

WORST PLUMBING COMPANY EVER 7/16/2008

We were forced to use this company because of our home warranty. They came out and instead replacing a mere seal that needed to be replaced, they convinced us that we needed to replace our Expensive Whole Kitchen Sink Faucet. Because of leaking we had to agree and they gave us a a choice of buying a WHOLE NEW EXPENSIVE FAUCET like we had, or go with a cheaper one. That was the ONLY way they would fix it was by replacing the WHOLE thing which I have been told since that did NOT need to be done.\r We did not have the money to buy the NEW EXPENSIVE ONE like the one we had nor did they have the Antique looking style that we had. We ended up with the cheapest looking and feeling kitchen sink faucet ever. After the job was done we requested to have our other fucet back since WE KNEW it could possibly be worth money or maybe if we could find someone else to fix it we could re-use it because I LIKED IT.\r They informed us that they disposed of it. Which I KNOW is a LIE because another plumbing told me that a lot of companies take old peices of equipment from jobs and re-sale them to other clients.\r Not to mention the way the main owner acted when he came out here the first time, it was like it was a HUGE inconviennce for him to even be here. HIS ATTITUDE SUCKED!\r After about a month or two this new cheap faucet would not turn off, it keep leaking and also every time we tried to tuen it off the handles would mover further and further back as we tried to make it stop going and wasting or water.\r We called the insurance company and they made us talk back to Middle Tn Plumbing. The man came back out and he was the rudest man I had ever seen, he suggested that we broke the faucet on purpose.\r Once again HIS ATTITUDE SUCKED in OUR HOME. As of now the faucet handles keep moving back just with normal use and at this point we do not want them back in our home, But we may have no choice. Cons: HORRIBLE ATTITUDE, BAD SERVICE, WILL RIP YOU OFF more
