I am glad that I used Manila Forwarder in my balikbayan box shipment to my relatives in Makati. I have been using this company since 2001 and I have been relatively satisfied with...

I advise those who will send their balikbayan box from Manila to the USA via Manila Forwarders NOT to put any important and valuable items in the box because mine took four (4) mo...

Great Service! 6/6/2012

I have been a loyal customer of this company for 3 yrs. I've been sending thru Manila Forwarders to ship packages to my family in Laguna. They have good customer service. There is always someone to talk to when you call them at their toll free number. My package arrived safe, which i think is the most important quality in a forwarding company. Will definitely use them again. more

air cargo shipment 6/6/2012

I send a package via air cargo thru manila fowarder and they deliver it on time as they promise which made my family in the Philippines happy since it is a birthday present. more

Great Service! 6/6/2012

I have been sending thru Manila Forwarder here in Los Angeles. I'm happy to say that all my boxes were received just right in time and in good condition. Their staff is always very helpful. From the time I request a box, schedule a pick up, up to delivery! more

Manila Forwarder 6/5/2012

I used this company after checking all the reviews and US Federal Maritime Commission and Philippine Shipper's Bureau list of balikbayan box companies. I liked their internet package tracking and their customer support. My balikbayan boxes were also delivered intact. And to my surprise, they are even wrapped in plastic. Worth recommending. more

M....FORWARDERS? 5/17/2012

KABABAYAN my first time in their service, never never use their business again. TRACKING online never helps, Online chat never helps. local agent's phone numbers and email address never helps, they never answers phone calls, nevery reply emails. Box took 80 days to get in Davao City. They made hole in the box enough to dig the MAGNANAKAW hands and pointing to Manila people did it. They were shopping inside the box took some of it, they got all the expensive kind. more

mis-leading company 4/10/2012

I was told that this company ship goods from manila to australia. We made a call and as a qoute for 2 boxes... its $170 per box. thats great. we were told to prepare the money and the box... thats it. no other instructions... come one month we were notified by another company that they were commisioned by Manila Forwarders to handle the goods. their fee- another $344 dollars. all in all two boxes cost us $684++ without customs fee... that ofcourse one must pay... The funny thing is after the admition of their employee that it was not explained to us clearly, and the logistics in Australia saying that Manila Forwarders should inform their clients of the procedure. Mr Manny P is claiming that they did nothing wrong. They are perfectly fine. And that they are the fairest of them all. you want the full story? give me your email and I will send you the full correspondence. more

customer service 3/27/2012

No one ever answered me when I tried to contact them through YM. NOT even ONCE did I get a response. They should have not placed an "I am Online", link on their page if they do not mean to respond to people who would want to inquire! more

Condolidation Service took forever 3/21/2012

I've used this company often in the past for air cargo services and they were great. Deliveries happen within a week just as they advertised but just recently, I used their cargo service and it was bad. Of course, this may be due to someone else handling my account but the consolidation service took 3 weeks and i can't imagine why it would take that long especially since it was already February. My box has arrived the port of Manila last Saturday but no one in their Manila office is answering whenever I call and it's the same case with the live chat service. I don't think I will use this company again. more

Surprising Great Service 3/2/2012

I sent a package thru this company Manila Forwarder after my relatives emailed me this company's website. It took a few days as it was holiday period and I was told that all shipments to Asia stops during the Chinese New Year. I was able to track it's voyage on www.manilaforwarder.com website which is very cool. Rates is also amazingly low as it saved me a couple of hundred dollars compared to UPS or FedEx that I used to use before. Great company and courteous people. Surprising too that I sometimes talk to their US and Philippine office depending on the time of the day or night to ask questions. Highly recommended. more

MANILA FORWARDER --FAIL! 2/25/2012

Well, at first they were okay. First time sender sent a BB, everything went smooth. I emailed this person asking when could my package arrive, he replied promptly and said if it is in their warehouse or our for delivery. But then when sender sent multiple boxes after, their service became TOO POOR that's it's too much of a disappointment. Sender were informed that maximum days of delivery is 45 days. It's like more than 50 days now so I called their customer service, they informed me that Batch 1 for our location's delivery is out and OUR's (which is more than maximum days) is not included. This girl informed me it might be included in Batch 2 delivery. I was pissed because of their services. Why is it taking so long. I'm anticipating that 45 days includes unanticipated circumstances. Knowing the industry that you entered, you should know how to anticipate those things and stretch your "maximum days of delivery". Don't say maximum days is 45 days until recipient gets the package IF IT ISNT TRUE! That's lying. Lying to get customers? That's rude. I've read too much negative comments and will seriously ask senders, friends and relatives to not trust this shipping company. more

Unsubstantiated Complaints from Anonymous Source 1/22/2012

I was once an editor of our college newspaper and has been an advocate of press freedom. In all of my articles, there is a by name, indicating my name as the writer. Anonymous web comments however, are not covered with the principle of accountability. If the contributor's motive is an action for his behalf, identifying info like tracking numbers should be provided. Other than that, everyone is free to judge some people's real motive. more

Anonymous remarks and Answer from Manila Forwarder 12/29/2011

I'm not sure what is going on with all you who have some bad raps against Manila Forwarder but not identifying the tracking number and other information. Manila Forwarder have the highest standard in the industry. We are US and Philippine governmental compliance. All shipments gets delivered. Sysyte works well. Go to the website package tracking, enter your tracking number, if undelivered after 10 days, you click the portion that asks for directiosn and cellphone number of the consignee. Philippines is made of more than 7,000 islands. Some addresses does not have any house number. People might claim that they are known in the community. Sad to say, things have changed. We just ask the very minority to start going with the protocol for each of everyone. No especials but all equal. Please provide the directions and the cellphone numbers of the consignee and all is well. We are proud that we have less than 1% complaints mostly due to unlocated addresses. more

DON'T TRUST THIS SHIPPING COMPANY: 12/16/2011

To all my kababayan here in AMERICA, NEVER TRUST this company anymore..i send boxes to them but it was close to 2 months now and i haven't receive those yet until now. I made multiple phone calls and all they said and promised "it was out for delivery" 2-3 weeks ago..i filed a complaint in the US CONSUMER AFFAIRS already and i am planning to file a lawsuit against this company very soon. I believed the proper authorities needs to investigate this company regarding fraud, hiring people with no proper documentation, and tax evasion. THIS IS NOT A REPUTABLE COMPANY! more

Comment from High Risk about Manila Forwarder 8/6/2011

There was this particular case where in a client sent TV sets that was lost during US Homeland Security Inspection. The case was tried by a US Court which ruled that Manila Forwarder is not liable to the shipper for any monetary compensation. Manila Forwarder, however, as a just and fair company, reimbursed the said client as stipulated in our contract. The recent US Homeland Security inspections really affected the whole balikbayan box industry causing some lost packages and delays. The problem has been corrected since then with a meeting between all balikbayan box companies and US Homeland Security Inspectors. more

Unreliable, high risk 7/12/2011

GREAT SERVICE except Phoeniz employee 5/7/2011

Good: The owner and employees are friendly and professional. Being ex military myself and having a best friend as a retired military Pinoy, it was a pleasure knowing the owner Manny is retired special forces. The packages are sent out timely and arrive quickly with no issues. My fiance and I have used them 4 times without a problem in the main office. I even send stuff as a VIP member directly to their office and it is safe until I arrive. I can't rave about this place enough.. Bad: The Phoenix sub contractor is rude and a liar. First large shipment we sent, we BOUGHT 10 plus boxes and I had many other items. Phoenix sub quoted me a price, and told me I had to bring the shipment there and unload the boxes myself due to his hernia. That was a cost of a truck to go along with a 600 dollar mark up from the quote I got from the main LA office. I decided to drive it myself to California. After that the lies began from Phoenix sub and the guy even wanted my MOM to carry them there. LOLZ! Sh. Improvements: Dump the Phoenix bakeshop so non PI people can be respected. Some of us people are married to filipinas and use this service. BUYING 5 dollar boxes does not mean, according to the main office, I have to use a rude pinoy with a hernia so HE can make money. I do NOT trust him nor his attitude, so why would I have my mom carry heavy boxes to him? His explanation of knowing people who spend 5 dollars a box to use other services is a joke and a lie. I asked him how he knew this was happening and he had no answer. Other: 3 other times I needed boxes from the phoenix sugar/bake shop I had to listen to the "i need to use him...boxes are of great cost, others buy the boxes and use other services, a lie, and that he suddenly last time had no boxes, another lie because he had them until finding out we were going to drive them again to the eagle rock office. The owner of the phoenix shop is rude, a liar and I would suggest for any non pinoy people to get them to the main office where they are in great hands.. more

High Risk... 4/17/2011

I sent five boxes by this company. They said it would take 45days. It's going on 90 days now and not one box has been delivered. Everytime I call these people they tell me a different story. If I call 5 times in a hour they will give me 5 different excuses. If it's on a friday they will say they can't tell you nothing until monday and they will call you. The will not call you and whe you call them on that tuesday they will have another lie ready for you. I thing the Chinese would do this right like they do all other PI business. Sad to say. more

Letter to Mr. Paez 10/26/2009

Dear Mr. Paez, I would like to direct your attention to a package (picked up by your agent on Sept.11, 2009)which has already been overdue and is presently unaccounted for by your staff. This package is with invoice/tracking no. 152458 and waybill no. 09-56. I have been in contact with your staff here in Manila and in LA and they have been giving me conflicting information. According to your staff in LA (Yasmin Perfecto) the package is already here in Manila since Oct. 17, 2009. However, when I checked with your office here (Oct. 24, 2009), I was informed by your staff (Arwin Inocencio) that it has not arrived yet. Upon further inquiry with him, I was given the impression that your office here has no idea where the package is. I hope that you would give proper attention and prompt action on this matter so that I will know the real status of my shipment. I also hope that you will live up to your company's promise of guaranteed quality service. Thank you. Gerard Tomacruz (mgtoma_2000@yahoo.com or mbtomacruzlaw@yahoo.com) more
