What I can say about Dr. Mandel is incredible. He is NOT a mill like most lasik centers. Instead, he takes the time to get to know you..and treats you like you are a special patient. Also, his staff was great. Nancy was my lasik coordinator and she was knowledgable and answered every quesion I had and kept me calm also! I had gotten about 3 other consulations and had picked Dr. Mandel bc I felt the most comfortable with him and had trust as well. He has all the credentials too ..went to Harvard=) I highly highly recommend going to him..yes..it will be a little more money spent...but it is well worth the investment! more

I had my Lasik done this past Wednesday, July 7th. The whole process was absolutely amazing. They start by putting you in a relaxation/zen room to get you relaxed for the procedure and then make sure you are comfortable. Their is no pain in the procedure at all, just a slight pressure. There is more pain going to get your teeth cleaned at the dentist. The only thing you feel is a slight pressure, no pain at all. I was seeing 20/15 vision by the next morning and walked out of the surgery with about 20/20 vision. I highly recommend Dr. Mandel to anyone. After a consult with another office, it was clear (ha ha) that Dr. Mandel was the right choice for me. From the minute I walked in for a consult to the minute I left my followup visit, I knew I was in good hands. Dr. Mandel and his staff are experienced and knowledgeable. You never feel like you're just a number and you never feel rushed or uninformed. I haven't seen clearly without glasses/contacts for 25 years... until yesterday. Thanks Doc! Don’t go to the lowest bidder for eye surgery! Go for the best return on your dollar... and the safest. You get what you pay for. I got my life back. Thank you Dr. Eric R. Mandel! It has been over two weeks since my lasik surgery. From simple things like reading the print on my car’s GPS screen to actually seeing everything on the shelves at grocery store, I get reminders of what Mandel did for me. I got my lasik procedure done a week ago with Dr. Mandel and I couldn't be happier with the results. Dr. Mandel along with his amazing staff were great from beginning to end. They answered all my questions, made themselves available at all times and took me step by step through the whole process. Truly an amazing experience. I really don’t know where to begin. I’ve wanted Lasik surgery for the longest, but have always been extremely concerned about who would perform the procedure. After all, this is eye surgery and you cannot just trust anyone with your eyes. A good friend of mine recommended Dr. Eric Mandel and I am SO grateful I went with him.\r \r Dr. Mandel and his staff are the best! They are professional and more so caring and gentle. My fiancé and I were sold from the consult. What surprised us most is after having a few routine tests performed to determine whether I was a candidate, Dr. Mandel, himself actually did the consult with us, without any rush. He took his time and answered all questions thoroughly. Dr. Mandel is the kind of person who gives off a warm and kind vibe allowing you to feel comfortable while in his care. \r \r Again, I went through a series of tests the day of the consult and was told I was a prime candidate for Lasik. I made an appointment for surgery two months later and don’t believe the actual Lasik procedure lasted more than 10 minutes. My fiancé Nicole was there for moral support and not only did they take care of me, they also took very good care of her, allowing her to be with me at all times, with the exception of the actual surgery; however, she was able to stand directly outside the room and not only keep an eye on me, but watch the entire procedure via a monitor. During surgery, she was also assigned a room to relax her things while the surgery took place.\r \r After surgery, I was assisted literally by the hand of Dr. Mandel to the very same room and was given to my fiancé to relax. Instantly, he lifted the shades and simply told me to look. He then asked me what I could see. We all laughed because my reply was simply, “everything!” He them sat me down, check my eyes and proceeded to give us instructions on what to and to do the rest of that day. The next morning, I arrived for my follow-up appointment at 10am sharp and before we fully signed in, we were being escorted in to a room to meet with Dr. Mandel, who joined us literally seconds later. I don’t believe the follow-up visit was more than 15 min, again, including check in, meeting with the doctor and leaving. It was almost like being treated as royalty. He’s also great with samples. The lubricant drops needed before and after surgery are pretty expensive, considering how frequent you’ll use them. They stock you up with plenty during each visit.\r \r Bottom line – If you are looking to have the Lasik or PRK surgery performed, Mr. Eric Mandel and his staff are the way to go! You will NOT be disappointed in the results or the service. My fiancé is now changing her opthamologist to Dr. Mandel because of the great experience. Pros: Professional, warm and friendly! You actually meet with and receive consultation from Dr. Mandel. I had PRK eye surgery and he was phenomenal in walking me through the risks and benefits. He and his staff were very reassuring. I always felt that a successful outcome for me, whether I chose the surgery or not, was the most important thing to Dr. Mandel. Follow-up care is exceptional. Highly Highly Highly recommend Dr.Mandel as LASIK specialist and ophthalmologist. First I went to Dr. Soloway to get LASIK, but then I choose Dr. Mandel as I felt more comfortable with Dr. Mandel. Outstanding specialist, plus there are other specialists in the practice, like Dr. Odrich so you can get an additional consult if there is a need for that right in the office, Pros: great specialist, great sense of humor, caring and attentive Cons: not really any more

Dr. Mandel did my LASIK and i couldnt be happier. He was so confident, knowledgable and wonderful. Hes personable, friendly and you can tell he is the best in his field. His staff and entire overall office atmosphere is comfortable and friendly. Kim, the office manager, is fantastic. They are always on-time and are so appreciative -- i even received a hand-written notecard thanking me for referring a friend!!! The office is clean and so well-run. It is so delightful to go to a doctor and have such a great experience....if only they were all like this! I had PRK yesterday and feel great. I am back at work. I've been told to expect my sight to worsen a bit over the next few days and then it will start to improve. Dr. Mandel and his staff were excellent. They talked me through the entire procedure. The assistant during the procedure was so nice and calming. Dr. Mandel followed up the evening of the procedure. I went into for a check and go back in 2 more days. I am so happy that I decided to do this procedure and use Dr. Mandel. Pros: Relaxation room is fantastic more

I am still in shock. I know of stories old and recent, and I must say I am truly pleased to know that I didn't have any problems. The very next day after the procedure, my vision has been perfect night and day. Dr. Mandel is THE best. When it comes to my eyes I will find him and I will follow him no matter where he is. Dr. Mandel was recommended by my optometrist on whom Dr. Mandel performed Lasik. Therefore, I didn't shop around. I am very happy, better than 20/20 from almost blind with astigmatism. If you are considering the procedure, go with Dr. Mandel. If you need PRK, like me, just be patient--these people know what they are doing. I had a couple of consults at various other lasik centers and Dr. Mandel's equipment is far more sophisticated than most of the other centers I went to. With his extensive background and accomplished track record, I felt I was in the right hands. A week later I was right and now I am 20/20 after being legally blind for the majority of my life. This is a life changing experience and Dr. Mandel changes lives with a blink of the eye. I received surgery on 8/17/2009 and today (8/26/2009), I am 20/20 (maybe even a little better). more
