Near the end of January 2013 I was diagnosed with stage zero breast cancer. Due to my significant family history of breast cancer and my personal diagnosis, the decision was made to perform a double mastectomy and reconstruction. I had no idea about plastic surgeons so my gynecologist provided me several options, including a glowing recommendation of Dr. Mahlon Kerr at Synergy Plastic Surgery. After the initial consultation with Dr. Kerr and his staff, I was completely convinced that this was the right place for me. The entire staff is so friendly and down to earth. They make me feel right at home every time I visit. It takes a great team to run a great office and the staff at Synergy Plastic Surgery operate as a team.\r Dr. Kerr is so friendly and has an amazing bedside manner. He truly cares about you as a whole person, not just as his patient. I have come in to the office in tears a couple of times due to other medical challenges I am facing and Dr. Kerr has been so compassionate and positive and has eased my fears instantly. Dr. Kerr, his nurse Ashley, and his entire staff are overall AMAZING people! I wanted to get a breast augmentation and spent alot of time searching for the perfect doctor...and it was frustrating! Until I met Dr. Kerr! He made me feel so comfortable! He and his entire staff really make you feel safe, comfortable, and happy...you really can trust them in knowing you chose the right place and that you will get the best service and results! Dr. Kerr answers all questions you may have, and I honestly did not have many, because he had already gave me so much information. He and Ashely are a great team. Ashely was WONDERFUL with helping me with the way my breast augmentation should look.....and I'm so estatic that I now look like a grown woman with breasts that look so natural and beautiful! They are not too big nor small, they really fit my body, and I am more than happy with them. This was my very first surgery, and I was very very scared! My husband was also just as nervous! But really, the thought is the scariest thing. Dr. Kerr, is very reliable and very trustworthy! He makes you feel right at home, and he is very easy to talk to. Located in round rock, TX, Synergy is about a 45 min drive. Too easy. He did an amazing job, and the surgery itself was quick, and I felt great in a VERY short time! Before I had the surgery, I talked to many friends about their stories. Although most did not have ""horror"" stories, they were ALL amazed by how quickly I recovered. The first night was the worst, but even that was not as I thought it would be. Dr. Kerr called me my first night to check up on me...which was very nice of him! Within a few days, I was already about to slowly lift my arms without any pain! AMAZING! I'm only about a month post-op, so I can still see in cisions, however, I can already see that they will not be seen very soon! You really can't tell I even had the procedure....the incisions can not even be seen if I wear a bikini. Honestly, aside from the procedure, choosing dr.Kerr/synergy has to be one of my best decisions considering how scared my husband and I was about how I would react and recover from surgery! Now, I have the breasts I've always wanted, I feel more confident, I can wear things I couldn't before and feel great in them...all thanks to dr. Kerr! First, I would like to tell you how thrilled I am with Doctor Kerr, his nurse Ashley and his staff. My skin no longer hangs around my neck ? my jaw line is firm and I have cute little eyelids for the first time in years. Am I happy? I am ecstatic. From the moment I entered the Synergy Plastic Surgery office I felt safe. An odd thing to say ? but I was getting nervous about surgery. Let me tell you my story. I am 63 and was looking tired and saggy. My neck looked like a turkey and no matter how well I tried to take care of my skin since my youth - gravity still pulled it all down. My mirror told me I did not at all look like what I felt on the inside and as a technology professional and I wanted to do something so that people would stop asking me if I was tired. At first, a neck lift seemed to be the answer. I searched on the web and found Life Style Lifts and liked the before and after pictures so I contacted them. After meeting with only their sales staff, I scheduled my procedure in San Antonio. After scheduling, I started to be nervous because the procedure was to take and from one hour to three hours and would be done under local anesthesia similar to what a dentist uses with many shots in the face. The more I thought about it the less I wanted to go through with it. My next step was to start checking out local Plastic Surgeons from the Austin area so that I could get a second opinion. From what I read on the web, I selected to contact Doctor Kerr at Synergy Plastic Surgery using their web form. I was pleasantly surprised when Ashley contacted me right away and explained that the lifestyle lift only addresses the loose skin, not the underlying muscles and that style of lift typically does not last as long as a traditional face lift. She had my attention. She offered a complementary consultation with Doctor Kerr. Okay ? I am impressed because so far I had not talked to any doctor only sales people. I scheduled the appointment and met with Doctor Kerr. He answered all my questions and explained what a traditional face-lift was compared to what I was going to get ? and gave me all the warnings about surgery ? so nothing was hidden. In addition, to my great comfort, ? I was to be asleep during the procedure ? and it would take about six hours rather than one to three hours I was quoted before. Already I could tell the difference in the quality of service I would receive. If I selected Doctor Kerr?s procedure, the surgery would be done in my own local hospital. Now you see why I felt safe? For the first time I felt like I would be safe with under this doctors care. I scheduled my full-face lift with eyelids with Doctor Kerr that day canceled my other surgery in San Antonio. It was the best decision I ever made. My surgery was the week of Thanksgiving and Doctor Kerr and Ashley came in to see me even when their office was closed just to check on my progress. I am so happy I decided to go with Doctor Kerr in a hospital ? there were some negative surprises with my surgery so that it actually took eight hours rather than six. Doctor Kerr took his time through the challenges my body gave him and I am so happy he did. What would have happened if I had been awake under local anesthesia and not in a hospital? I am so grateful I did not have to find out. I am proud of my decision to have this surgery and I tell anyone who is interested what I had done and I feel secure in recommending Doctor Kerr and his staff to anyone interested in improving their appearance. more

I had a fabulous experience with Dr. Kerr and Synergy Plastic Surgery. I came to Dr. Kerr because I had constricted breast tissue causing some tubular breast deformity. Due to nursing, my breasts also needed a lift. My breasts were quite asymmetrical, and I had enlarged nipples. I had been to several consults in multiple cities including, Waco, Dallas, and Houston. I had left these other consults in tears. Dr. Kerr made me very comfortable from the start. Since I had been to several other consults, I came armed with questions. Dr. Kerr addressed all of my questions before I could even ask them! He demonstrated great knowledge and he proved to be very current in his field. I really liked the way that Dr. Kerr sat down with me in his office and addressed my needs and concerns before the initial exam. He was very down to earth and I felt like he took the time to really get to know my desires. Prior to the surgery he and his nurse answered several questions in a very timely manner and post-surgery Dr. Kerr called me personally to check on me. I have had 5 appointments at his office and I have never had to wait more than about 5 minutes. There have always been other patients before and after me, but his office is run in such an efficient manner that nobody is sitting around. He takes the necessary time needed with his patients, but you can tell that he is respectful of your time. As for the results, I couldn?t be more pleased. Dr. Kerr allowed ample time with me in the operating room and I feel like he strived for perfection. He used insizers and took in multiple implant sizes into the operating room to make sure that he was able to correct my asymmetry. He did a beautiful job with my lift, cutting down my nipples and even lowering my fold line. Believe it or not, I am 6 weeks out and you really can?t even see the scars. I cannot imagine having a better experience. I would highly recommend Dr. Kerr and his practice to anyone. more
