Brought my Range Rover in for some repairs on my car, they fixed it and a short time I thought it was gonna take a week or so.

This place is a joke. In six months my range rover was there 12 times to fix a water leaks. all they kept doing was fixing what was damaged and not the source of the problem. In t...

HORRIBLE HOWARD ORLOFF! BUYER BEWARE - GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE 11/15/2008

WORST DEALER EVER!!! Go anywhere but here. Bought Certified Range Rover at Orloff, but car broke down and had to be towed back to dealer 3 times in first 9 months. Also found that brakes were rusted through! Dealer did NOTHING to help - TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. Cons: TERRIBLE CARS, AWFUL/NO Customer Service more

Good service has left the building. 6/19/2008

I have owned Jaguars from Orloff for about 10 years, and I started out raving about the excellent service. For the past 4 years, however, the service has been abysmal. I have had a recurring problem with the car (engine failsafe mode/traction control failure) since I bought the 99 XK8 from the dealer, and over 10 times they have been unable to solve the problem. My warranty is now expired and suddenly they find the problem and it's several thousand dollars to fix (note also that this was done once already on warranty and solved nothing). I have little faith in them - new problems seem to crop up every time they fix the car and having to return for the same problem seems to occur a lot. Further, they are very unresponsive to calls for updates, not proactive communicating at all when they are running late with your vehicle and abrupt in person and on the phone both. Cons: Customer Service, Mechanical repair reliability, troubleshooting more

worst land rover dealer(HOWARD ORLOFF)chicago 2/28/2008

I had my truck taking in for differential work the tech told me a price and said it wouldn't exceed that limit after the work was done i pick my truck up and its over $1200 more then he said. Very unprofessional! Once again i had another problem with my truck was told it wolud be finished that day.. LIE... called tech he said the part he had was defective! Ok! This is friday, new part won't be in until monday. Here's monday no part maybe tuesday! Here's tuesday! called the tech yes the parts here we're working on it now 11:00am it will be ready by 3:00pm driving past the dealership on my way home so i called the tech its now 3:45pm and the trucks not ready! Called back once i got home truck will be ready by 6:00pm dealers closing soon! maybe 7:00pm maybe!!! got back to the dealership before closing and still had to wait about 20 min. This got to be the worst palce to bring your car! You bring your car in for one thing and they tell you, you need everything else the find so many things so they say!!! By far this has got to be the worst ever!!!!! Would never recommend this place to no one or ever visit this place again!!! EVER!!!!! Service techs s*ck!!!!! never can catch them, always to busy but when you get down there, what are they doing sitting in there office. This being the closet dealer in the city it puts you in very compromising situation! will be taking my car to the orland park dealership from now on! prices are even cheaper! Unethical Service People Who WIll Take Advantage of You! Don't take your car there, you'll be sorry. 1/12/2008

I brought our XC90 in for a scheduled 50,000 mile tune up and an oil change. The Service guy showed me a one-page sheet of various tune-up packages listed according to services required per the amount of mileage on my car. I qualified for services costing $350, which was basically $30 for an oil change and $320 for nothing. After I dropped the car off and they began work, the pushy Service guy called me back exclaiming that my spark plugs were shot, my brake fluid was bad, the coolant and transmission fluid needed a flush (or something to that effect), and the car supposedly pulled to the right so I needed a high-tech computer tire re-balance. All said and done, he rushed me into approving over $1,600 in unnecessary work. This dealership takes advantage of the uneducated consumer, who, unless you are a mechanic by profession, should probably do some extensive research before bringing your car to Howard Orloff or at least get a second opinion. I will never go back and would never recommend this dealership to anyone. They are crooks through and through!!!!!!! Buyer Beware!!!!!!!!!! Pros: Umm......None. Cons: Everything more

Save yourself the headache and go to a reputable place! 12/22/2007

I concur with the last review...service is terrible at Howard Orloff. Every 3-4 months I get some coupon to come in for an inspection, oil change, etc. As a result, I took my car in the for 20+ point inspection that included my brakes. On that inspection report it stated that my brakes we ""in the green"" which means that they would not need to be replaced. Literally 60 days later (and I barely drive my car as I work in the city) my car started shaking, etc. I brought it in immediately and the brakes were completely worn, the rotors had to be replaced, etc. Ended up costing me $1,500+ So much for the point inspection--completely worthless!!! To top it off, I asked them to keep all the parts as I wanted to have them reviewed for warranty purposes. When I called to see if my car was ready---they said it was and the parts were in the trunk. Unfortunately, I never checked the trunk while I was there and was VERY surprised when i got home to find an empty trunk. When I called them right back (hour later) to see what happened to the parts---they said they were all ""mistakenly thrown away. Nice, huh. Buyer beware! more

Worst Place In Chicago, Don't Go! 12/6/2007

The absolute worst dealership that I have ever been too. I had a simple service to do, rear window stopped rolling down and the headlight went out, and after confirming on the phone that this had been fixed, I arrived and it wasn?t. They said it would be fixed the following day, no big deal, but they didn?t even offer a loaner vehicle or to reimburse me for my travel expense. The following day I specifically requested not to deal with my previous service technician, but they said no, again I called George (my service technician who is impossible to get a hold of on the phone), and he said yes it is fixed, so again I take a cab, and once again, the light was only fixed, not the window! At that point I said I will take it somewhere else to get it done, but they still made me pay my initial $100 warrantee cost and I haven?t been back since. The next day, I drove all the way to Winnetka and they fixed my window in about 15mins now that is customer service! Then this week I find a letter in my mail from an attorney about a $415 open charge with Orloff, an entire year after my service! They claim that my warrantee company can?t process the charges, even though its still under warrantee at the time of service! How is this my problem that Orloff can?t work this out with the warrantee company??? Now I have to fight this with lawyers?! When you need something simple fixed on a car that retails for 90k, the least you can expect them to do is, fix the problem, and get it resolved on their end with THEIR warrantee company. I have since had other services done in Winnetka through the warrantee company and have had no problems. From this experience alone, I have turned my friends away from them and to Orloff. Also, as I find other dissatisfied customers, I cannot recommend them for anything. If you are looking for a Range Rover, I highly recommend going to Fields in Winnetka. I can verify any of this information incase someone thinks I?m just pumping another dealership. Pros: Nothing Cons: Everything! more
