I had an unexpectedly good experience buying a 2009 Jetta Sportswagen at Hewlett VW. Gabriel, was responsive and knowledgeable. I appreciated the time he spent with me showing me the features of the car. The finance manager, was pleasant and helpful in making the financing happen. He offered me all the usual extras, but didn't push them on me or use scare tactics. I appreciated both his and Gabriel's no-nonsense approach. I got a good price, had a good experience, and would not hesitate to do business with them again. more

This is a very nice dealership--of course there is the negotiating game, but Tom Worsham very even keeled and easy to work with.The negotiations were friendly and Tom helped us to find out additional information on the car that the dealership was unaware of, that made us more comfortable in making a decision. The price was fair, and everyone I dealt with was courteous. Tom gets 5 stars. The only complaint is that we had to wait to close the deal longer than I would have liked, particularly when we had a child in tow. But once we sat down with Ilia, things went smoothly and they offered us a better financing rate without much hassle. Overall, good experience... more

Great Dealership 12/11/2010

Just purchased a 2011 Jetta Sportwagen TDI from Tom Worsham. This was my first new car purchase and I am happy I chose to deal with Hewlett, and Tom. They just happened to have the only car in Texas that was exactly what I wanted, but after dealing here I will be back in the future for orders if they don't have what I want. The price was fair with what I had researched and the entire process was relaxing and smooth. Tom and Brian stayed late to finish processing my sale and were very courteous all the time. Best Car Experience! 12/10/2010

I bought a new car back in 2010 from Gabriel Frunza. He was very helpful, responsive, trustyworthy, honest, and personable. Almost a year later I was involved in a bad car wreck. My jetta saved my life so I knew it was the car I would buy again. I knew exactly where to go and who to talk to. Gabriel and Hewlett provided the same standard of excellent service and made this difficult process a piece of cake. I would recommend him and the dealership to anyone. more

Unhappy 11/29/2010

I bought a new car from VW Hewlett. At first I was satisfied. As time went on, things became more unpleasant. I was lied to by the sales person about the coverage I paid for. It did not cover 1/2 of what I was told. I called and called, and got no response. When I finally got a hold of someone, & brought this to the issue to another associates attention, he was rude and uninterested. I had to deal with them again today. I've been calling for several weeks now and leaving messages. Nothing. Finally when I call and am a little angry about the whole ordeal. Surprise! Treated like garbage. I'm so sorry my business is such a burden. It won't happen again! more

Wanting to drive a VW again, I visited Hewlett to find a vehicle that would accommodate 3 growing kids. Gabriel Frunza showed me the Routan mini-van in the showroom. Since it didn't have all the specs I was looking for, Gabriel compiled a list of my color preferences, options etc and called me a couple of days later that they had a matching Routan at the dealership. Went in for a test-drive and purchased the car. Our sales consultant made it a hassle-free and pleasant experience. Gabriel is very knowledgeable about VW cars and customer oriented. The overall atmosphere at Hewlett VW is friendly. No experience with the service department yet, but customers are treated courteously from what I've seen. more

Nothing but the best in every way! 11/13/2010

Four years ago, my son and I came to Hewlett VW just to look at the line. Tommy Luna greeted us and within a few hours, my son was a proud owner of a new Jetta. About 9 months later, I became the proud owner of a Jetta, simply because Tommy walked me through the tedious process of financing etc. My lease was to end in Dec. of this year, but I was way over my miles. Tommy had me come in to look at my options. Long story short, with Tommy's guidance, expertise & the trust I have in him, I am now driving another Jetta with much better terms. I can promise you this...the reason I came back to Hewlett for another car was because of Tommy. I trust him completely & had no concern about following his lead. In addition to Tommy, I place my trust in Samantha when it comes to servicing my car. Will I continue to do business with Hewlett? Yes, as long as Tommy is there. more

Top of the charts sales experience 8/18/2010

I really hate ""Internet Sales"" departments that respond to all electronic requests with nothing substantive, just a bald-face attempt to get you to come in. That's what happened at the other VW dealership around town. ""When are you really going to buy?"", ""Why don't you come in so we can talk about it?"" I got the opposite from Russell at Hewlett. He responded to my Internet request quickly and with an exact quote. I was impressed and made an appointment for a test drive. That visit was the best car dealership sales experience I have ever had. Russell knew the cars inside and out. He showed me more about the car for the test drive than I usually get when I go pick up a new car. He respected our time constraints and some unique requests we had. After the test drive, I changed my mind on what I wanted. The Golf TDI that I decided on is hard to get but he located one, a 2011 no less, and got it delivered to the dealership in a reasonable amount of time. The delivery and paperwork side was no hassle. They even offered me exactly what I had researched and estimated to be a fair price for my trade-in. That's never happened before - ever. I can't comment on service yet, but I will repeat - Russell is the best, most professional salesman I have ever had. I'd send my 85 year-old mother to him without a qualm. more

Who knew you could bring your Honda, or any other brand car, into Hewlett VW for excellent maintenance work and service. I needed a quick oil change and decided to see if they could work on my Honda. What I found out was that they made a quick trip to a Honda dealership to make sure I had the right parts, got the work done, and even had time to give the car a wash. more

No VW experts found 4/20/2010

The parts guys can't help you unless you know the part number. Absolutely no 'experts' there. This morning, I spoke with a parts guy about a stupid little light bulb that goes in the instrument cluster. The parts guy described the bulb he had which sounded exactly like my bulb. I told him I will come see him during lunch. Well, I get there and the guy isn't there. He didn't tell anyone that I was coming either. None of the other parts guys knew what I was talking about and couldn't help me. What a gaggle of idiots. The parts manager had no knowledge of older VWs at all! He definitely needs customer service training. Cons: Customer Service is not in thier vocabulary. more

great sales experience! 2/10/2010

My daughter and I were in an accident a few weeks ago, which totaled my car, so I needed a car on very short notice. We live in College Station and were looking for a rather specific car, so I had to contact dealerships in the surrounding cities. I contacted Hewlett Volkswagen because they had a car that looked exactly like what I was looking for. Rick Roberts promptly respond back to my request. He was very friendly and willing to work with me on the price of the car to get our financing to our desired monthly payments. We arrived at Hewlett Volkswagen and were greeted by a very friendly staff. Rick already had the car pulled around and ready to test drive. Looking at the car, you can tell they are very selective of the quality used vehicles they sell. Once we agreed on the final cost of the car and the financing, we were done with the paperwork in no time. I have to say that was probably one of the quickest and easiest car purchases I have experienced. Pros: friendly sales and finance staff. more

Poor service dept ruins otherwise fine VW dealer 8/5/2008

I love VWs and own two Jettas. But I'd buy any other car before going back to Hewlett VW because their service is so poor. Pros: Sales team is fine, location is good, lovely facility Cons: Service team - should be called the anti-service team more

Worst service experience of my life 7/16/2008

I dropped my 99 VW beetle off on Mon. July 7th with a dead battery caused by a fan motor that remains on after the car was turned off. Robin, my service advisor, had dx'd the problem as a faulty module that Hewlett had replaced 3 mths earlier. Robin told me on Thur. that the part was faulty and had been replaced under warranty and I wld only have to pay for the battery. Since it was a faulty part I felt Hewlett should be responsible for part of the battery replacement. He agreed and said he would check with the service manager. On Friday my wife drove to dealership to pick the car up (since we had been told it was ready) and was told that the service manager, Marcos, had decided it was a ""logical but faulty"" diagnosis and that he did not think the same module was the problem. He had the tech put the old part back on and suddenly it was working. Not only were they not going to pay for part of the battery but now they would have to do more checking to see what the problem really was. We were never informed of any of this. So we had unnecessarily driven to pick up the ""repaired"" vehicle and we were now looking at a potentially much larger bill so they could ""re-diagnosis"" the problem. After a long discussion with Marcos he said he would have it re-diagnosed and would call me Mon. morning. Once again we did not get a call. Late Monday afternoon I called to find out what they had determined. Robin told me they had checked every other possible cause and could not find any other problem. I asked if we were back to the original module being the problem and he said yes. I asked him to get it fixed and to call me on Tue. when it was ready. No call again, so late Tuesday I called to no avail. Today (Wed) I finally spk to Robin to be told that Marcos still doesn?t think the part was the problem (even though it was not working when they originally dx?d it) and I had no recourse but to pick it up (with old part installed or pay full price for new one).Unbelievable Cons: everything more

Awful service department!! 6/3/2008

best service ever from start to finish!! 1/28/2008

I bought a VW Passat from Hewlett in 2004. The salesman was exactly the kind i ilke to see. He was very informed on his product, not pushy, and very factual in what deals he could work for us. I walked out the door with my new passat that day with none of the haggling or running back & forth to the service manager that drives me insane. I returned to the dealership for each of the recommended oil changes and service requirements to a service staff who greeted me courteously and got my car back to me quickly. Unfortunately after 4 years, it has gotten too small for what i needed so when i traded it in at another dealership for a small SUV since the VW SUV was out of my price range, i returned to the dealership to get a refund of my extended warranty my husband and I were greeted with handshakes and smiles, they processed the paperwork, told me the SUV i bought from the other dealership was a good buy and told me about new VW products coming out soon, wished us well, and said they hoped to see us again. Trust me, with that kind of service from start to finish, I WILL BE BACK. Both VW and the people there are great! I am a big FAN of this dealership. Pros: Great cars, great employees Cons: maintenance a little expensive but still worth it. more
