We have an older house that the drain pipe doesn't have a real good pitch to it and tends to clog up from time to time. Austin plumbing was able to open up the pipe and get the water to drain with no mess. more

In the last few years my home (built in 1966) has finally shown quite a few problems with plumbing and heating. I have had a new high efficiency furnace installed, new water heater, frozen/burst water pipes in my garage replaced with a much better system (and was given extensive instructions on how to completely empty that water line in the fall), a wet bar whose corroded fittings below had sprung a major leak was made like new with a modern faucet and all piping and valves, drains in two bathrooms were cleaned and repaired (they look and work like new), badly clogged major pipe line out to the septic tank was snaked almost to the end of the snake - it's running well now (was told to never put any grease down the drain and not to use the disposer because I have a septic tank, but run the disposer now and then to keep it freed up). Arnie is a consummate professional plumber and is extremely courteous and informative. He has done my whole house inspection for the last two years and always explains in detail everything he thinks needs attention most urgently, using easy to understand language. Arnie is installing a new kitchen sink faucet and all new piping and valves underneath as I write this. I know he will leave my house perfectly clean and I will be very pleased. Scott also did a great plumbing job in my house and gave me instructions to prevent future problems. (I made a check list and am going to laminate it to hang on the pipe). I am a "Diamond Club" member and will always call Austin Plumbing/Polar Express when I have an urgent need and when I want to update old equipment. I know that Austin is a bit more expensive than other Plumbing companies, but I am very willing to pay for exceptional, quality work. more

Problem diagnosed....Pipeway to street opened...problem diagnosed as tree roots (and a wipe) into pipeway...camera used to show progress and to visually diagnose problem. Pete was terrific at explaning the problem and conditions that led to the solution. All questions were answeredin a very clear and concise manner. We would be very happy to have Pete return for any future problems. One concern that my partner (Marlene) had was regarding what she thought was the "trip" charge $69.95, which was added to the bill. She was not told about that charge when she made the orginal appointment via the phone. However, Pete did point that out when discussing the cost of entering the sewer drain and checking with the camera $427.00 and the 69.95 was extra. Also, she thought the cleaning and camera was going to be $327.00 and somehow didn't notice the charge was infact $427.00. A copy (to given to us) of those choices with prices would have help, since she apparently did not read the company's sheet correctly.. We were definately impressed with Pete's knowledge, expertise, and professionalism. more

Austin Plumbing Company did a wonderful job! They cleaned out the drain for us. They put something in there to clean out the pipes, and it turned out very good. They're a very, very good company to work with. Expensive, yes, but they were good! more

I have worked with Austin Plumbing Company for years. They recently installed a hot water heater. The service was great. The water heater itself was actually defective, so they came back almost immediately to replace it with a new one. Their service and the quality of their workmanship is excellent. My only concern is the cost. Their prices do seem a little higher than those of other plumbers. more

Good morning. Just thought that I would take a moment to comment on your service tech that recently completed some work at my house. Arnold has been to our home a few times and has always been a gentleman and a true professional. From the moment he entered the house, covering his shoes to the job clean-up at the very end, he has always done a great job. Arnold took time to explain every step of what was to be completed and always informed me if any other concern arose during his visit. The previous home inspection that was completed was very informative and involved all aspects of our plumbing. I felt very confident in his recommendations that were discussed. Very likely I would have never founds the potentially serious problems that he was able to discover during the inspection. Recently Arnold installed a new water tank and water softener which if not replaced could have brought on some serious issues in my basement. My confidence in his previous work and professionalism at my home definitely played a part in my decision to have Austin Plumbing continue servicing my home. Within one week this past December, we acquired a new hot water heater from Austin Plumbing and a new furnace from Polar Express. We have been serviced by Austin for many years and have always been very pleased with them in every respect. We made the decision this year to have Polar Express service our furnace needs because the installers of our furnace have never followed through well at all. During our first appointment with Polar Express, which we thought would just be a check-up, we found out that we needed a new furnace. There was no hesitation because we knew the service we would receive from Polar Express would be at the same standard as the service we have always received from Austin Plumbing. It has been an expensive winter but we are extremely pleased with the products and the service we received. more

Recently I posted a review which the comment ended with the comment of Buyer Beware. The nut shell post was in 2005 Austin Plumbers installed a new TOTO toilet, again complete satisfaction at that time. Recently this toilet flush lever broke so I called Austin plumber. The person I spoke with turned out to be the actual owner, which I did not know that at the time. He did tell me they did not stock repair parts for the toilet, but did provide a number I could call and possibily get the part. He also suggested that I may also search the web for the part. The day my review was posted, although I have not found it in the review section of the web site, I received a call from the company and this is how I found during the first call he the owner was who I spoke. He did apologize for not being more specific about informing me that he is a "service", "not parts and service". During this conversation I truely felt the owner was concerned both with my post and the manner the matter was handled at the time. For this reason I wish ask my buyer beware comment be ignored. I truely believe his best intentions were his intention. I also may have expected more than I should have. But I still wish to say I feel that if one sells an item they should stock with in reason, parts to service these items. If not than at least provide a way to get the part with out having to search the internet to include having to pay shipping. If the owner reads this I also have a suggestion. This would be to inform the caller that you are not a parts retailer, but as one who is costumer concerned, regardless new or previous costumer, will order you the part and have it shipped to you, if you choose not to have it installed by my company. And so all know I did spend the Friday after Thanks Giving searchin the internet. I did find the part locall so I will save the shipping, and to be fair had to wait to get the part. more

The reviews stated are not from my initial experience, but is for the recent phone call. In 2005 Austin did an outstanding job installing a new TOTO toilet on the 4th of July. This time totally satisfied. On 11-29-13 the flush handle of this same toilet broke. I called Austin and inquired if they would have a replacement part I could purchase and install myself. I was told this part in not stocked, I was told they have toilet assemblies and if they would install the lever they would take one off a toilet assembly they have instock. As the install I asked if they would do this but allow me to install the part. I was told no than given a number where Austin gets their parts from, I called no answer. Began researching this to get a part from any plumbing parts store and found that TOTO toilets do not accept most parts not made by TOTO. My point here is that the $700.00 part and labor in 2005 was fair, but if this type of cost to hire a professional and the parts they install is fair, would you also expect the would carry the parts of the item. This part I did find at the cost of $33 bucks and as I, not the installer had to both search and find, rather than the person I spoke stated stop in I will take one off a toilet. I would state to all buyer beware. more
