Hi my name is Glenn Hawker, owner of G Patton Salon. I encourage anyone new to the area to come to our salon in Ghent and try us out. We often ask our clients who are new to the salon to write a review about their personal experience here at G Patton Salon. Often they are new to City Search, or Yelp or even yellow Pages. Their reviews are their true point of view from their own personal experience. Not all of our reviews are five star, or glowing, however those reviews are true as well and are certainly welcomed. We can't gage, or control how may reviews are written by users, but our reviews are true, good or bad. As the owner I use the reviews as a tool to keep my salon top notch and to keep stylist on their toes. THANKS TO JESSICA & GPATTON SALON! 7/27/2010

I recently moved here from Vermont - after one bad haircut in Norfolk, by accident I discovered Jessica (a great haircut on a person that I went up to in a mall and asked where she had her hair cut). I can honestly say that this is the BEST haircut I have had in 10 years!! Jessica used a razor and extremely professionally I must add. She pointed out to me that my hair was thicker on one side than the other and cut it accordingly. Bruce, one of the owners came over and said to Jessica (what a great haircut!) Jessica was extremely friendly and made me feel confident that I would get a great haircut and I DID!! I will recommend her to everyone!!! I also LOVED the Moroccan Oil treatment that she used on my hair. Pros: #1 STYLIST - THE BEST!!! more

can't get enough BOBBY!!!!!!!!! 5/21/2010

My first thoughts walking into the salon were, what an amazing, vibrant, and lively environment. Music that was actually good to listen to. And the cutest dog just trotting around, he looked pretty fierce by the way. All the stylists there were so friendly, and looked like they really knew what they were doing, and loved their job. But then, i got THE BEST OF THE BEST, Bobby. Before he started snipping away, he took the time to feel the texture of my hair and give me a good look. He cracked jokes about the terrible cut I had from whomever did it before, and once he was done i knew why. He cut my hair to accentuate my face and he hit the nail on the head. While styling, he showed me how to get the look he was performing, and that it would be no problem for me to do on my own. He was very understanding, and wanted to give me what i wanted, and kept asking if i liked it. But he gave me so much more than i expected, and i can not waaaaaaait to get split ends if it means bobby will be cutting my hair. thanks a million, i loovvvve it!!! Pros: everything. Bobby Johnson ROCKED my haircut!!!!!!! 5/21/2010

OMG! I finally found my Bobby! Went to Bobby ""back in the day"" when I was totally HOT. Now I may no longer be HOT but my hair sure is. LOVE love love the cut- the color-the feel. My husband keeps asking me ""Hello Hollywood...whats your name?"". Silly man!! But, I haven't felt so good about myself in quite awhile. GREAT HAIR does so much for one's self image and confidence. Love Jessica. She is always ready to listen and knows what style will work best with my hair type. My teen can't wait to get back to see her. She makes suggestions on how to style at home and doesn't pressure you to buy products. Pros: experienced stylists who listen more

Excellent salon! 4/5/2010

I would like to say thank you to Glenn, Bruce, and Angel for their help today. After a series of bad haircuts and bad highlights from a stylist at Changes Salon, I began researching salons in Norfolk. I came across excellent reviews for G Patton Salon and decided to ""drop in"" to see if someone could help me. Glenn (the owner) happen to be in the salon because there was a class being conducted for the stylists. He greeted me warmly, saw that I was upset about my hair, and offered to cut my hair (did I mention it is his day off!). The other owner, Bruce, and Angel, a stylist, were also warm and inviting. Gpatton in short is very open, bright, happy, upbeat, and friendly. I felt comfortable upon walking in and walking out. Ive been a few times and everytime i leave satisfied. Shannon does wonderful at her job and has always always catered to my needs, my hair problems, and understanding of what im looking for with out me having to bring a million photos in. She has always done my hair in a very percise yet timely manner. Shannon was cute as a button, friendly, always smiling, and a great conversationalist ontop of doing so great with my hair woes! Ive recommended her to all of my friends and family since having her do my hair. If you ever need someone who is quick, good, and familiar with plenty of experience, shannon is the one i would recommend. Thank you Shannon and Gpatton! Rock star treatment!!! 3/26/2010

If you want to be treated like a rockstar come to Gpatton. I lived in New York and would specifically fly back to norfolk to Gpatton to get my hair cut colored and styled. If you want to look and feel like a celebrity go see Bruce. Bruce has been cutting and styling my hair for years now and I will never let anyone else come near my hair with a pair of scissors or a blow dryer. I started going to G Patton because of Angel Blackmon. She has been my sister's hairstylist for years and after having her cut my hair once, I was hooked! Everyone at G Patton is ABSOLUTELY awesome...but Angel is definitely my favorite. The salon is so cool! There is always awesome music playing, you are greeted as soon as you walk in, and it really just feels like you are hanging out with friends! more

Brittany is a miracle worker! 1/25/2010

I have been going to G Patton Salon to see Brittany Morris as much as possible over the past couple of years. I live in NC so the 1and 1/2 hour trip is difficult to make every 6 to 8 weeks. Let me tell you, after Brittany transformed my hair a couple months ago, I confirmed it is well worth the drive!!\r \r One day I was sitting at home and had the impulsive idea to dye my hair platinum. This wonderful thought quickly failed as I was left with platinum roots and bright orange hair. I toned it down to a greenish blonde, but was still not satisfied. \r \r I left my fragile hair in the hands of Brittany. She was able to transform not only the color but the texture as well. I could not believe she was able to revamp my rainbow brite hair into a soft blonde color that was manageable and healthy. \r \r I cannot say enough wonderful things about Brittany and the salon. You will leave the salon feeling refreshed and renewed! I promise!\r \r \r \r Pros: great salon, wonderful stylists Cons: I live in NC but well worth the trip! more

Jessica is WONDERFUL 1/23/2010

As a student, I had been used to going to get my hair cut at the same place for the past few years because it was cheap. After finally getting tired of the same old thing, I decided to do some research and find somewhere close to school, which is how I found out about the G Patton salon. It cost more than what I was used to paying, so I was apprehensive, but as far as most hair salons go, it's pretty reasonable and you really do get what you pay for. I booked an appointment on Wednesday requesting Jessica for the next day and, knowing how in demand she was, I doubted that that would happen. However, she was able to make time to see me the very next morning! Pros: Great atmosphere, flexible scheduling, friendly staff Cons: nothing more

I'm a student at ODU and have been getting my hair done at the same salon for years back at home, recently my stylist left so it made more sense for me to find a new place locally at school. After googling and reading all the reviews about G Patton I made an appointment with Bruce. Walking in the door I was already impressed by the decor and friendly attitudes of the stylists. The best salon. 1/21/2010

I had been referred to G patton by my optometrist after asking her where she went. I had just moved to the area and had been with my past stylist for the previous 8 years. I gave G Patton a call they got me in the same day with Monalisa. Monalisa had some big shoes to fill as I had grown accustomed to my previous stylist. Monalisa sat me down and talked about what I wanted and she nailed it. Over the course of the next several months I got on my regular schedule of once a week cut/trims, well Monalisa started suggesting some minor changes and of course being the guy that I am I hesitated, however, I trusted her judgment. I have never gotten the compliments that I do now. I tend to give Monalisa the credit of the phenomenon she has created with my hair. Monalisa has now been styling my hair since May 09 and I truly hope she sticks around for awhile! Pros: creative, educated, proven stylists'! more

I decided to get a last minute style change while visiting a friend in Virginia Beach and decided on this place because of the fabulous reviews. I was a bit skeptical that the reviews were fake because they had so many positive and so few negative, but now I know these are real people who had a great experience just like me. Take years off of your look... 1/16/2010

I'm all over Jess doing my styling from now on. Once she was done w/my work I looked 20 years younger. Not much more satisfying that having old friends look at you and try to figure out what is different. Then when they realize what it is... Well, I never thought I'd see my original hair come back after I turned grey... Thank you Jessica... Pros: Jessica knows what she is doing... Cons: Not a darn one... more

I've had short hair for about 4 or 5 years now, and I've been to numerous stylists. But Jessica by far is the only hair stylist to capture the look that I've wanted! This is my first time going to the salon, and I will definitely say that I am going to be going back. If you have short hair and want a great edgy look, please go to Jessica. My experiences at G Patton are always great. Kelly is my stylist and has been for a few years, she always gives me her opinions and a few options. I always leave more than pleased (and feeling fabulous) - everyone raves about my new ""do"", so much that 5+ of my pals go to Kelly now as their stylist. Also, the staff at G Patton is always friendly and courteous, which makes for a pleasant experience. I love my stylist Erin Jones. She works with you and gives you exactly what you need and want. She knows her clients well, knows what is best. I LOVE getting my hair done by Erin. I leave satisfied every single time. Pros: Great flexibility Cons: not any more
