I just had my first appointment with Jessica last week, and I couldn't be happier with my hair. The girl I was going to previously at a different salon wasn't doing a very good job, and my hair was actually pretty damaged and unhealthy. So I asked a friend where she goes, and she told me about g patton salon. After reading reviews online, I chose to have my appointment with Jessica. She does her own scheduling, so you get her cell phone number and can keep in close contact with her. She was able to text me the morning of our appointment offering to move it up an hour because she was free earlier than expected. That worked out great for both our schedules. She started out by asking a lot of questions about my hair, what treatments I've had before, what products I use, my usual routine, etc to get to know me and my hair. It was clear right away that she is very knowlegdable and experienced. She explained the way different products work and why my hair had been damaged. She then set out a whole plan of what we could do to improve things, including cut, color, treatments, and products, not only now but continuing steps in the future also. I have very fine hair that usually looks rather flat. The cut she gave me gives it an amazing amount of volume. Also, my color was all messed up, and she was able to choose a new color that looks great and still hides all the other colors I had previously. She also did a keratin treatment that makes it look healthy and smooth. I asked about a new flat iron, and she offered to get one for me. She also asked that I give her a call about a week later to check in and see how things were going, offering to touch up the cut or color if needed. I'm going to call her tomorrow, but only to say thank you for doing such a great job. more

I've been all over the world with 16 years in the Navy now, but just moved to Norfolk this summer. Thank goodness a wonderful neighbor recommended Glenn and his G Patton Salon! The Salon gives you that cool and hip vibe the minute you walk in. Everyone in the salon is talented and dedicated to a team concept and keeping clients happy. Glenn is truly a visionary artist...he recently remodeled the Salon and it looks better than ever. He has done my hair 5 times so far and every time it looks even better - I always get compliments the next day at work on the cut and color...impressive since everyone I work with is military. :) Great Salon, Great Location in Ghent, and Glenn is simply amazing...I won't be going anywhere else! more

I walked into this pretty trendy looking place not knowing what I was looking for. The only thing I knew was I wanted something fresh. I was promptly greeted by Shakeia who was not only friendly but also a joy to have make my frizzy old hair look totally rad. She helped me achieve a new look that I never would have been able to do myself. The best part is she made sure I knew how to style and care for my new look in a way that was fast and easy for a busy girl like me. She did a wonderful job asking question and figuring out just what I wanted but what was also going to work best with my skin and eyes. She is amazing with highlights. They are so well blended and look so natural my own mother wan't able to tell they were highlights. Thank you for making me feel so special Shakeia! I will be coming back. :) more

I've never really enjoyed getting my hair done until I discovered G. Patton and Shakeia Kelly 2 years ago. Since then, I have loved every visit and have been overly impressed with both the process and results. Shakeia does an amazing job with my unruly curls (best I've ever found) and gives highlights that are natural and fantastically uplifting. And her awesome personality and kindheartedness makes it feel like I'm visiting a friend at the same time. At the last minute a friend from out of town came and Shakeia easily fit both of us into the afternoon, doing a job that my friend was incredibly impressed with as well. I feel so lucky to have her as my stylist and would recommend her instantly to anyone, no matter what type of hair you have or style you desire. more

G Patton salon is very highly recommended. Cool environment and great staff. I have had color, cut and global keratin treatment at the salon (all done by Joshua Gilliam, who is absolutely fantastic). Joshua talked me through the process of the keratin treatment, and the results are great. G Patton is my salon of choice, and Joshua is the only stylist I'll go to! more

I'm new to Virginia and it's been a while since I've got my hair cut. Honestly, I was really bored with my thin straight hair and was wondering how a perm might look on me. I read really good reviews about G Patton salon and I'm so glad I decided to go get my hair done there. I talked to Jessica Abrahante over the phone and I told her how I needed a cut and I was also thinking about getting a perm. She was very helpful explaining everything to me, both pros and cons, during the consultation before she started the perm. She definitely knew what she was talking about, and she understood completely about how I wanted my hair to look and what I was expecting. I was honestly pretty nervous since I've never done anything like this with my hair before and I was afraid how it was going to look, but I'm so glad I went through with it. Jessica did an amazing job! I'm so happy with both the haircut and the perm. I've been getting compliments all around about my hair. Even after I was finished she continued to help me out by recommending shampoo, conditioner and hair products for my new curls. She's easy to get a hold of, and if you can't reach her you can be sure she'll always get back to you. It's been a few days now since I got my perm and since then she's been giving me advice and suggesting techniques I can use on my curls to keep them looking good. She's a really friendly and sweet person. I had the best experience with Jessica and I will always go to her for all my haircare needs, and I'm sure you'll feel the same way when you get your hair done by her. more

I have been going to Jessica White for about seven or eight years now and have had the best experience with her since day one! Jessica is not only a professional, but is super down to earth and always listens to exactly what I want. I have had so many compliments on my hair and when I want to spice things up shes ready for the challenge. I have taking my hair from dark brown to platinum blonde with a short bob back to long and Jessica has manage to nail it everytime!! G Patton Salon is not only fun and fresh, but all the staff are super friendly and make sure you are being taken care of as well. I had my hair cut by Jessica A. June 29th. I waited this long to write a review because I take these reviews seriously and wanted to be able to give a true review. I have fine hair and have been jumping around among stylists. As a result I have been unhappy with my last few cuts and have several unblended layers. I basically needed Jessica to do more 'correction' than styling. And I feel that is exactly what she did. We spoke at length about my hair and the cut. She felt my hair was too dry, and after telling her what shampoo I was using, she confirmed that it should be dry because I was using a shampoo for oily hair. She gave my hair a light moisturizing treatment and my hair did feel better. She suggested I switch to a gentle, daily wash shampoo, which I did and I believe it has helped the condition of my hair. As far as the cut, she explained why she couldn't cut too much, in an effort to correct some areas that needed to grow out further. But she did cut it, and the style was definitely improved. I've been letting it continue to grow for the last two months. I am planning to return to Jessica, with the hope of finally having this cut grown out and a new, better style for me. She did not hesitate to give me her honest assessment of my hair and I feel, two months later, she made a good assessment and gave me good advice and a good cut going forward. (And the only reason my rating is 4 stars and not 5, is that I have only had one appointment where only basic correction could be accomplished at the time). more

She's been taking care of my hair for quite a few months. I had natural hair and she took care of it and loved it but most importantly she delivers on what you ask for. \r Funds became low and i wasnt able to keep up my twice a month visits so i recently came in and requested to have my hair chopped off. Wow is all i can say. She produced an amazing cut nothing i could have imagined. You know when you come in and ask a beautician for the picture you seen in the magazine and its never quite that when you're done, wellll it was here. she did an awesome job and i didnt even have to readjust it when i left. i aam absolutely happy with her work and im hooked. \r What also makes her special is that shes not pushy. Ive had way too many experiences with hairstylist that you ask to do something and sort of look at you crazy and tell you or try and persuade you to agree to what they want to do. Whether i wanted to go natural or get a perm and have a hair cut she does it without making me feel bad and the end product is always amazing. Shes got experience in ethnic hair as well as fine hair. Jessica White has been doing my hair for years! I absolutely ALWAYS love it and won't let anyone else touch it! Jessica is always personable and happy and like reviews say before me, I can tell her ""do whatever"" and am never disappointed. Even when it comes to hair color, I completely trust her! As a creature of habit I typically tend to stay with the same hairdresser year after year. That is, until now. I was referred to Jessica White at G Patton Salon by a co worker last year. There is not enough space to write all of the good things I have to say about Jessica! I LOVE my hair. Jessica not only cuts but also colors my hair. I am always greeted with a smile and Jessica is always on time. I can walk in, sit in her chair and say ""do whatever you think will look good."" and I always leave the salon looking great. If you are searching for a new stylist I would highly recommend Jessica. In fact, I have sent a few of my friends to see her and they love her as well. Okay first of all, I've never been one that enjoys going into a salon for a haircut. In past experiences I've never had someone that could consistently provide me with a good haircut time and time again - what with the fine hair, cowlick, etc (I could go on and on!) But Jessica has been cutting my hair for close to four years now and has never let me down. She super personable, always has a smile on her face and a great attitude. I've sent 5 or more of my friends, mom, sister, and co-workers in to her and they continue going back! I'm also happy to report that even after moving over to a new salon, G. Patton, she hasn't missed a beat. The salon is in a great location, in the heart of Ghent. Convenient and in the middle of everything. The interior is very well done and the rest of the staff is great. With Glenn, the owner, there - there's never a dull moment! I'd highly recommend Jessica - or from what I've seen, any of the staff at G. Patton! more

I had a great experience at G Patton Salon the other day. My stylist was Coy and he really took the time to figure out what I wanted. When I came in, I told him to cut my naturally curly, thick hair short....I just couldn't stand it on my neck!! We talked about it and he convinced me that layers would solve my problem. I didn't have to chop it all off to feel comfortable in the summertime. I'm glad that he took the time to talk to me about the cut and the result was amazing! I love the way it looks and I feel so much lighter!! I had a lot of compliments at work. Definitely going back! more

I recently won a contest with a local radio station. I won several prizes..but none of them have given me the most excitement as the one I won with Sabrina at G Patton.My gift certificate included a package for a complete hair and makeup makeover, with products to take home also. Okay, here's the deal...Sabrina completely changed my hair and my look. My cut is unbelievable, my style is unbelievable, Sabrina is unbelievable. I look younger, and feel younger. I never thought my hair and my look was dragging me down..but you wouldn't believe my before and after pics. I also would like to say that MonaLIsa is a wonderful makeup artist. She too made me look awesome. Sabrina and MonaLisa both took time to give me the ultimate pampering. I'm turning 50 in a few days..and I'm telling you, because of Sabrina and my makeover, I feel so good right now. I receive compliments everyday..people don't even recognize me. I'm from out of town and I needed to find a new hairstylist for the next few years while I studied here in Norfolk. After looking around, I settled on G Patton after reading many many positive reviews. While there, I had to bounce around a few people to find the person that fit me the best. Carla Whitehead has become my fav at G Patt. Not only does she cut a great guy's haircut, she is extremely flexible for those who are always on the go and unsure of your work/school schedule. Never been disappointed. I do have to say that I constantly change my mind about how I want my hair and she has given me what I wanted regardless of whether it was short or long! Great salon. Everyone is friendly and it's located right next to Pasha! more

G. Patton is a fantastic salon overall (great interior, in a great neighborhood, friendly and helpful staff in general), but the best part by far are the stylists. I go to Logan with only the vaguest of ideas and she turns out exactly what I want, every time. I carry her business cards everywhere because people always want to know who does my hair - it's that unique and noticeable. DEFINITELY ask for her - I promise you won't be disappointed. more
