G Patton Salon

G Patton Salon, located on 22nd street in the Palace Station, is a needle in a haystack. Norfolk is crowded with multiple salons, cutterys, Great Clips, et cetera. All of which i call the hay, and the hairstyles they turn out alike. but G Patton stands out like the gleaming needle reflecting your beaming face the minute you walk in. The building itself is very well designed, up to date, but eclectic. It has almost a timeless feel to it, in that you would walk in 20 years from now and not know when it was built and designed. Whoever picks the music does a fantastic job, its almost as though it fuels the stylists brilliance. I get my hair cut by Glenn Hawker and he has yet to disappoint me. He's the first person that i can completely trust with my hair, knowing that if i show him a picture, he'll go beyond and above my expectations. I highly recommend G Patton if you want a sound, flattering, different, and high quality hair cut. It's a bit pricey but let me compare it to buying Walmart clothes to tailored clothes. Walmart works, but they don't really fit right, they're not durable, and you never really feel confident in them. Tailored clothes are made just for you, excentuate every good feature, last a long time, and make you feel comfortable in wearing them. That's G Patton. p.s. label.m works. I wasn't willing to get caught up in the hair product deal where you spend top dollar for products that dont work. but these work. And the salon doesn't force them on you, so ASK! well worth the money. more

I got a terrible cut a couple of years ago. My hair was shorn off, razored off, at all levels and looked amazing only in the salon. Only 2 weeks later, it started looking and feeling terrible. I went to one lady who tried to fix it and she did a good simple job of helping to normalize it but I only went a few times as she was in another state. more

Great salon, and Jessica is awesome. Jessica cut my hair when it was in a bob (and did a great job at various lengths), and then took it to a pixie cut. Awesome job at all lengths, and the best pixie cut I've ever had! IThank you Jessica! Highly reommended. more

I am always unsure when it comes to my hair. I might have a picture in my head of what I want, but no way to describe it to a stylist. This makes me nervous every time it's time for me to get my hair cut or colored. At G Patton Salon, my stylist, Jessica, instantly put my fears to rest and made me feel that I was in good and capable hands. She really listened to what I wanted. Not only did she listen, but she took time out to sit down with me to look through magazines in order to pinpoint the exact look I was going for. She was very willing to educate me about different techniques for styling and hair care. She is a real professional who knows what she is doing. I could really tell that she saw her job as a way of helping people and not just a way of making money. She even provides her clients with free services that she feels are necessary for the health of their hair. Jessica was great! I was so pleased with my result. I can't say enough how much I appreciate the time and care she took to make sure I not only had what I wanted, but that the end result looked good. more

I highly recommend Jessica! I was able to visit the salon today for the first time and had a awesome experience. I can honestly admit I am not easy to please when it comes to my hair. I have very thick, naturally coarse hair which I am always fighting with. My hair pulls gold/brass easily. As soon as I sat down Jessica took the time to listen to me, learning what I would like to achieve from the visit. The best part is she not only listened and took to heart what I like she educated me on my hair. She offered professional advice from the cut, foiling techniques, proper moisturizing and so much more. She really made me feel like a welcomed, valued client. The salon staff was very helpful and atmosphere was relaxed, not ""stuffy"". I highly recommend Jessica, you too will be impressed! more

I have very fine, very thin hair, but Jessica was the miracle worker today. She cut my hair so that she gave it volume and covered up my bald spots. She really made me look and feel pretty. :-D And she's a wonderful person to chat with. Never a dull moment. I marked a five-star rating for her. I do agree that anyone who wants to use her styling gift should RUN, not walk, to the salon! Thank you very much, Jessica. You really made my day. more

Hands down my best salon experience in a loooong time! It was exactly what I was hoping for! Jessica gave me an amazing cut & color...so happy I found her! I was referred to Glenn by a girl I saw at a restaurant -- she had such a great cut I that I asked her who cut her hair. When I first went to Glenn, my color and cut were a mess, and he really did an amazing job updating both. I've been going to him now for a couple of years and I have never had a cut or color that I didn't like. It's not often that you can find someone who excels at both, but he really does a professional job with each. more

Glenn (owner of G. Patton Salon) has been cutting my hair for many years. I've followed him to different locations and he's followed my ""hair history"": short, short-short, growing out, short, going gray, coloring the gray, going gray again, etc. Through it all, he's been patient, offered sound advice and even tolerated the gray! Recently, I asked Glenn about ""low-lights"" to add shine and contrast to my ""more gray than brown hair"". All I can say is, why didn't I do this earlier?! No doubt, he was thinking the same thing, but was gracious and kept it to himself! AMAZING color and, as always, a great cut! more

Jessica was AMAZING. I wasn't really sure what I wanted when I went in but she helped me decide on a color and cut and I have never been happier with any hairstyle in my life! She knows what she is doing and is dedicated to her customers. I will most definitely be going back! more

Brant does an amazing job! He really pays attention to what you want in a haircut. He's been cutting my hair for years and I'm always ecstatic with the result. G Patton... what a great salon too; super cool... with an open, airy, contemporary feel. Really convenient location too! more

I am orginally from south carolina and i was told about shakeia by a close friend.I was in desperate need of getting my hair done due to the fact that i am natural and stilling learning how to maintain my original texture of hair. I went to her to have my hair straightened because i tried and i did a horrible job. She did such a great job. She took her time and straightened my hair just as good as a relaxer would have. She is very professional and great to talk to!!! On top of that i have never been in such a big, fun, uplifting salon like G Patton before and I really enjoyed the vibe of the salon. So Ladies hurry up and get to her because I love her and she is legit and next time i plan on getting my hair colored with her.... i cant wait because i know its going to look great!! more

I discovered G Patton in Ghent one day and thought I'd see if anyone in there knew how to maintain (dread)locks. I was so lucky to have found Shakeia. She's great and if you could only see a before and after picture, you'd run in to see her too. On top of her always doing a great job, she's efficient, I never have to wait, she's professional and sweet. I look forward to seeing her. Not just because I know she's going to transform me but I because I like her company as well. Next week we're kicking it up a notch with a wavy/curly look. Can't wait...!! more

Shakeia has been doing my hair for almost a year now, and I am thrilled every time. Whether I want my ""usual"" or to try something new, Shakeia gives an excellent color and cut. She listens to me, suggests ideas if I ask for them, and has wonderful technical skills. I just remarked to her how fortunate I was to find her after years of so-so service. I have not had a good stylist in almost 6yrs (not because of lack of trying either, mind you)....until Jessica. She not only gives a fabulous cut and color But, she has a great personality as well.
