Really interesting place to shop. They have a lot of unique items, I really like how you wouldn't find there items any where else they are very original, this is where I always shop for my home decor! more

this is hands down the best, most well stocked and diverse not to mention fairly priced lighting store. With a huge collection of all sorts of things you cant possibly go in there and not walk out with something truly special or unique. more

Able To Fix My Antique 8/16/2011

I have an old antique lamp that recently just stopped working. I took it in to Ensler Lighting to see if they could take a look at it. When I walked in the door the clerk seemed so happy to help me. He was able to look at it right at that time, he found out what was wrong and told me it would take about a week to order the part and to fix it. I felt so lucky to have found them. My lamp is back home and looks great, thanks to Ensler. more

I am trying to redecorate my living room and I didn't know where I should go . I actually stumbled across Ensler Lighting by accident. It was a happy accident. I found the PERFECT lights for the theme I was going for. I couldn't be happier. Trust me, if you need lamps, this is the place to go. more

Keeping it in the Family 8/8/2011

I received a oil lamp from my grandmother and when it made it to me here in California it had been broken. I took it into Ensler Lighting to see if they could fix it and they were more than happy to look at it and within 20 minutes they were able to find out what was wrong and what needed to be done to fix it. I am so grateful to them for making sure that I was able to keep this in the family. more

Great Selection and Information 7/20/2011

I walked in the other day to get a lamp repaired - Howard had many suggestions about how I could do the repair myself and save money - I elected to have him do the repair, but appreciated the wealth of information that he provided. He also has a great selection of shades, and fairly reasonably priced antique fixtures. more

Highly Recommend 7/15/2011

I recently did a remodel on my home and was in need of lots of lighting. I went to a few of the ""big box"" stores and found nothing that really suited my fancy. I decided that I would try littler boutique shops, and that is when I ran into Ensler Lighting. I was in awe of how big of a selection that they had. I was like a kid in a candy store. I found so many things that fit the decor that I was going for. I highly recommend them. more

I brought in 2 lamps that needed new wiring. They told me it would take them about 2 weeks, but then I got a call the same day telling me they were done! Price was very reasonable. more

New Owner, New Attitude, 10/20/2008

The former proprietor has recently died and the shop has been taken over by his older and wiser brother. I appologize for the often bad behavior of Edward. I am a more peaceful, and professional person. Call, come in, look arround, ask questions, get advice, sit on the bench in front and get your lamps repaired or a new shade fitted. I helped start this business with my mother some 35 years ago and want to bring it back to the friendly, neighborhood shop that it was know to be.\r My hours are somewhat limited, but my willingness to help and be of service is not.\r Huge selection of lamp parts, antique style wire, glass and fabric shades, some old and some new lamps and lighting fixtures.\r Howard Ensler Proprietor more

I stopped in to look for some wire and parts for a vintage light fixture. After listening stone faced to my question the shop owner began ranting how stupid my question was. He next asked if I was a ""proponent"" of global warming. Not knowing at all what he meant I tried changing the subject ... asking if he sold the proper wire needed for my light fixture. At this he became more enraged ... telling me he only had time for important clients and not for giving advice to "" F**KING South Berkeley losers"". As I beat a hasty retreat from the shop he screamed a hail of curses and told me never to come back unless I wanted my face smashed. \r \r So all in all I give his little shop of horrors as many NEGATIVE STARS as the universe holds. I guess if you are into abuse and crazed insanity you might want to drop in just for the experience ... don't take the wife & children though."" Cons: Proprietor is hostile and crudely insulting for no apparent reason whatsoever !! more
