Best

Extra helpful and seemed genuinely happy to have our party there and went the extra mile to keep us happy.

Worst

People there are not real friendly. Ziggy is very nasty, and needs to learn how to speak to people. He's a real idiot!!!

Great range 3/6/2012

I shot guns today! I do not know why I am so excited, it was just such a rush, I cannot wait to go back here! more

Find another Gun Shop. 5/18/2011

I went there to shoot a firearm I received as a gift not that long ago. I was told to read the paper that states the range rules. And nowhere within does it say what calibers are prohibited. I presented my firearms to a female to have them checked out. Well she just looked at them didnt ask what caliber I was shooting. She just did a once over and i went to the range. It says no where on the paper specifically what caliber is banned. Just no High Powered Rifle round. What does that mean exactally. So I was shooting and the tall guy with curly hair came over to me and told me to stop shooting and I said why. he asked what caliber I was shooting. I was then told to pack it up and I was done shooting. He talked to me like a 12 year old. I was unaware of what caliber was banned and the woman behind the counter didnt do her job. When I was checking out he proceeded to say I never presented my rifle and she denied that she saw it. What a B@#$H. She flat out lied. I had a customer back me up saying I saw she checked it out and ok'd it. so guess what never going there again. The staff treated you like a friggin criminal. The guy with long curly hair was the biggest a-hole of them all. more

Find another place to shoot 12/28/2010

I've been to this range a few times and my last visit will be my last. The employee Ziggy is a jerk. First I understand the need for safety and the need to check people out for malicious intend because of the firearms. But this guy treats everyone like they are morons or thugs. I own a Sig which isnt a cheap gun and I dress normal standard. You would have thought I was a yo-boy trying to shoot a 38 special I found on the street the way he talked to me. I show up at the range with a 50lb gear bag and he wants to inspect it, which is fully understandable, but when he wants to know what every item in it is thats a little overkill. I have multiple magazines for different guns (family gear bag with everyones mags are in it) and he insisted on knowing with mags when to what guns. Asked to inspect the ammo, pulled a box out and said I have 3 more. He insisted he had to open every box to check all 3 pack out... Fine whatever I proceed to go to the range. Not 5 mins into shooting hes hovering over my shoulder the entire time. Mind you there are 4-5 other people at the range, yet he did not move from behind me until I had fired my last round. As soon as I finished and began packing up he head back to the counter.. This is what some would call profiling, and from now on I think I'll start going to On-Target the people there are alot nicer. more

Helpfull safe atmosphere A+++ 12/18/2010

If you want to feel as safe as it gets at gun range where the no nonsense rules are enforced you have found it. This great little range and sales center will steer you straight. Don't go in half cocked thinking you know enough not to questioned. Think of what they have to deal with every minute when a stranger walks in carring a gun case. Just be patient. I would have walked out several times if I wasn't humble enough to allow there advise to be heeded. My wife son and I all shoot there and would not change a thing. I have read the other negative reviews all the while knowing what those guys must mentally scan from minute to minute. They are in a precarious place dealing in guns and retail Americans. They are pros, ask them about the rules and take their advise. They often stop by the shooting area which really gives us a feeling of a secure managed atmosphere. Very helpfull at times having an expert looking over your shoulder partaking advise and their skills. Thanks Continental Arms Staff. Pricing very competative with stong warranty service in store. more

Safe, Informative, Great Selection 9/12/2010

OK - I have been going here for almost a year. I walked in knowing absolutely nothing about firearms. All I knew is that I wanted one. These guys are smart and they NEED to be. With all the crazy people in the world their is nothing more dangerous than a gun shop. I took advice from them and got some training and did some online work before my first purchase. They don't sell bunnies, they sell GUNS! If I worked at that place I would be wearing body armor. People walk in all the time with loaded guns. They have a huge sign that says ""NO LOADED WEAPONS"" if you missed that and still walked through the door you should be thrown out on your ass. The job the guys behind the counter have is to keep that place as safe as possible. They need to do the best job they can screening people before they get out on the range. Shooting is a privilege not a right. To all of those who are upset by the treatment the staff gives you - ""WAKE UP"" and grow a set. You are at the MOST dangerous public establishment around. I have seen countless times where a person has lied about shooting, got on the range and has endangered themselves and me on one occasion. If you want hugs and smiles head to Toys R us. If you want a safe and fun place to shoot. Head to Continental. I have purchased my 10th weapon from them. The prices are actually quiet fair for being retail. The staff knows me and greets me with a smile every time I walk in. Show them a little respect that is a dangerous job. If you had some random moron mistakenly pointing a gun at you a couple times a day I think you might be a little stern with customers too. more

Great service 7/24/2010

I have never had anything but good experiences at Continental Arms. My son and I have been going there for over 4 years. I have always been given great customer service. I have bought many guns from them and gotten the free hour cards so I must correct the review above me and tell you that the coupons CLEARLY state ""1 free hour, 1 person, 1 visit"" Pros: good customer service more

Unprofessional, Pompous, and Arrogent Employees 6/13/2010

Please see the letter below that describes the incident in detail. The lack of response that I got from this e-mail shows that they just do not care about their customers. THE ATTITUDE BETRAYED BY THIS ESTABLISHMENT GIVES US GUN OWNERS, AND GUN CULTURE A BAD NAME.. It's lengthy, but it gives an accurate description of how the environment is;\r \r ""To whom this may concern, \r \r I first off would like to thank you for the good times that I have spent at your range over the years. I made my first handgun purchase with you and have had pleasant experiences with most of your staff. I introduced several people to your range, one of which is paying member there and another gentleman that bought a Springfield XDM from you. While knowing several people who were less than satisfied with some of your staff I have never had an issue with your staff until last night.\r \r Last night, April 8th, at 7:10p.m., my sister and I entered your range with the intent to test fire a Springfield XD in 9mm and possibly purchase from your store. Although I did not catch his name, we were waited on by a tall male, with long, shoulder length, curly hair. He asked for our driver’s license, on presenting them he informed me, in a condescending way, that my license is damaged and close to the point of rejection. I acknowledge the remark and thanked him for informing me. My sister’s license was stuck in her wallet and needed to be cut open in order to present it to him. I offered to cut open her wallet, and did so. As she filled out the necessary paperwork he spoke with another gentleman about “recording audio” at your range. He spoke to the gentleman in the same condescending way about what equipment he should use to record audio. When he was finished his discussion, he reviewed her paper work. He asked her in a disbelieving way if she had shot before, since she checked off the beginner listing for firearm experience. My sister, taken aback by his attitude, was a little hesitant on answering him right away. I interjected saying that she has shot on the farm (where I normally shoot) with me. He then asks in a sarcastic way “So what, you shot DADDY’S guns at the farm?” I informed him that my sister has accompanied me at the farm with my firearms many times. He quickly turns and in a very arrogant way says “Ok, that’s good. She can answer for herself, can’t she?” I replied “We are done here” and he asked why. I told him that “I have been here many times before, and that I have never encountered such an attitude.” He then sarcastically asks “I have an attitude?” I informed him again that we were finished, and thanked him for his time.\r \r I understand and respect that there needs to be a serious attitude in your range for the safety of your clients and employees. However, I believe that this can be done without the rude, sarcastic, arrogant and condescending attitude displayed by this man. I believe this can be done because I have personally experienced it from other employees there at Continental Arms. I am appalled by his behavior, and cannot fathom the need for him to act like this. While I have had several wonderful experiences, I do not believe that I can continue to enjoy your range. I hope you understand that this man has lost a paying customer for range time, as well as future potential gun sales. ""\r Pros: Just a place to shoot, convenient, indoor Cons: Over priced, over rated, egotistic employees more

Gun Store and Range - Run Like a Family Store 5/20/2008

All of my experiences with Continental Arms has been very positive. The staff are knowledgeable and if you go when there isn't a crowd of people at the counter, they will take the time to share some of that with you. After only two visits they recognized me and would pick up prior conversations where we left off. I've purchased several new handguns from them, and several cases of ammo. For one purchase, they had to track down the specific handgun and finish that I wanted - and with Maryland legal requirements for integrated locks and spent casings, that turned out to be a complicated matter. They had it within two weeks. After shopping around, I have found that their prices are quite good for Maryland. I definitely recommend the unlimited range time package - single or family. It will pay for itself in a few months if you go regularly. If you do something stupid in their store, be prepared to get called on it. They have a ""wall of shame"" for people that do things like: enter store with loaded gun in hand, that repeatedly shoot down target lines, etc. Please note that this isn't the place for people who are very high strung or impatient - there have been a few times they confused me with other customers or thought they had called me when they hadn't. If that sort of thing drives you crazy and you can't let it drop, go someplace else. If you prefer to deal with people that take their work personally (and all that entails) - Continental Arms is a rare find. Pros: Informal atmosphere - with good prices and friendly, personable, knowledgable staff. Cons: Informal atmosphere - meaning staff can become confused or forgetful when busy. more

Run away. Overpriced, Rude, Bad Customer Service 6/1/2007

I have never felt less like a person than when I was at this establishment. The first time I went in, they treated me like I was a criminal and that feeling never really went away. One employee even made my wife cry because of the rude manner in which he dealt with her. If you can wait around long enough for them to get to you, their customer service is non-existent. They do give you a coupon for a free hour of range time, but it's basically worthless unless you go by yourself for exactly the time it says. I went today with a friend-we were each there for 1/2 hour (total 1 hour of time), sharing a lane. The cost is $8.00 per half hour for the first person and then $5.00 for the second person. I figured that 1 hour of free range time would equal the 1 hour of time we spent (1/2 hour each)--there is nothing that says that it has to be one person for the coupon--but the man behind the counter only took off the $5.00 for the second person! When I asked him about it he said that I was a guest of the range-he wasn't my guest. He was very condescending and treated me like I was stupid. I'm sure that his explanation made sense to him, but it made no sense to me. It was the straw that broke the camel's back for me, as this is an example of the ""service"" that I have always experienced from this establishment. I can honestly say that I will never go back and urge others to shun them, as well. Cons: Expensive. No Customer Service. Rude Staff. Fake Bonuses more
