Complete Women's Care Center

I am a loyal patient of CWCC and I am also a doctor. I personally usually see Dr. Jurney, but I would be happy to see any of the doctors, and have seen both Dr. Hardwick-Smith and Beard. I would never usually write on a site such as this because basically I disapprove of the idea that anyone can write anything which may be nothing more that a personal attack and there is no way for the business being reviewed to respond, which is completely unfair and un-American. But anyone who criticizes the CWCC doctors really needs to be responded to, because they are just wrong. CWCC is a rare group of truly caring, extremely well qualified doctors and medical professionals who do a fantastic job of balancing work, family and everything else. They have an unheard of level of customer service and the office and staff are the most beautiful in town. They consistently have rave reviews on every website with a few exceptions that show that they are actually humans, and are awarded in every online popularity contest such as best doctors, super doctors, most compassionate doctors, etc, etc.The doctors in town and their wives all go to CWCC, the waiting room is full of doctors like me. The complaints below about billing are clearly a result of lack of understanding about how doctors work with insurance companies, which is inherently hard to understand. Medical care is expensive, and you bet there is a bill for every lab, every ultrasound, and every other thing. Sometimes insurance companies don't pay. None of which should lead anyone to attack the doctors personally online in a public forum, that is just hurtful and cruel. It is unfortunate that these wonderful women have to put up with this type of thing when they should be spending their time taking care of us and our unborn babies. Anyone who has the honor to become a patient at CWCC will be thrilled that she has formed a relationship with an intelligent partner, maybe even a friend, and certain someone to admire and respect. more

After having some issues with the group the Senior partner called me to personally discuss the situation and work towards resolving it. I appreciated her willingness to work with me and listen to my complaints. more

Best OBGYN ever! Complete Women's Care Center is near and dear to my heart, but even more so is Dr. Lisa Beard. She is the sweetest, most caring and attentive doctor I have ever been to. This includes all specialties. I cannot express how much she meant to me during the pregnancy of my son. I am high risk on many categories and I required a lot of care. Dr. Beard always got back to me when I reached out to her and with the sweetest demeanor ever!!!! I looked forward to my visits with her. She and her staff are incredible. I love her nurses too. Everyone who I ever saw there was exceptional. I recommend Dr. Lisa Beard and Complete Women's Care Center to every woman i know and to anyone reading this. Trust me!!!!!. more

The staff at Complete Women's Care Center are great but Dr. Beard is just OUTSTANDING! I saw her for my first pregnancy in which I was constantly having issues with (nothing too major but when you are pregnant everything seems to be much more worse than it actually is). Dr.Beard was always very positive, supportive, and reassuring. She made every effort to explain things in great detail to me and made sure I always understood what was going on! That was very important to me since it was my first pregnancy. I actually enjoyed seeing her for my visits because she is so down to earth and personable. I went into labor on a Sunday very early in the morning and was excited to know she was on call that weekend. During labor, at the hospital she came to check on me a few times during the day and made sure I was comfortable and /or needed anything! I didn't deliver until very late at night and she did a wonderful job delivering my little man! I greatly appreciated how she was so patient with me and my looong labor, she never once suggested a C-section or made me feel like I was interrupting her weekend! My family absolutely loved her and truly appreciated how caring and compassionate she was. I couldn't have asked for a better doctor! I have referred 3 of my closest friends to her this year for their WWE and they absolutely loved her, just as much as me! I will definitely be seeing her again for my next pregnancy!! :) \r more

I have been a patient at Complete Women's Care Center (with Dr. Lisa Beard) for many years now. These physicians are the best in town - both the physicians and staff take the time to listen and address each of your concerns and go the extra mile to ensure you feel 100% confident about your health, whether you are planning for a baby or going for routine exams. I am so impressed by Dr. Beard's bedside manner and knowledge of women's health, generally, I have driven to their Pearland office (from the Heights) so I could have my check-up with her specifically, although each of the physicians are highly skilled and well-regarded in their profession. In addition, there are times when I have left messages with her nurse for somewhat urgent issues, and I always receive a response within a couple/few hours (shorter, depeding on urgency). When I arrive for my appointement, I have never waited for any long period of time to get in. I highly recommend this group and Dr. Beard, and I intend on having a long-term relationship with this practice based on years of only positive experiences. more

I was trying to find a ObGyn closer to the Heights than my previous doctor in Clear Lake. I needed my yearly exam and birth control. After doing minor research I tried Complete Women's Care Center with high hopes. I got an appointment with Dr. Lisa Beard. Everything seemed to be going well, however I felt that my initial consultation fell on deaf ears. The yearly well women exam was roughly conducted. This was my first visit with a female gynocologist, and I was shocked at the roughness. After starting the birth control, I returned a month later for a very uncomfortable cycle. While waiting in the back, I could hear Nurses and staff members rudely and loudly discussing other patients visits and problems. I was mortified at the thought of being the subject of such conversations myself. To make matters worse, I had mentioned to them that I am a self pay patient and wanted to pay for all lab work up front. After paying them for my labwork, I received a bill from the Lab itself. I tried to reach the office staff at Complete Women's Care Center, to find out if this was legitimate. I left messages and two months later, I have yet to hear from them. The problems I'm having were never addressed, and now I'll be taking a drive back to Clear Lake to see a doctor who treats his patients with respect. From the minute I walked in the door to almost a day after each of my visits, I felt violated and demeaned. Never have I felt more like cattle, may as well have a pap smear at the butcher shop. more

I have been a patient of Dr. Hardwick-Smith's since I moved to the Houston area in 1998. As my life progressed and I married and moved to the Friendswood/League City area, I continued to make the yearly drive to her practice as I could not imagine making an appointment with any other OBGyn. Once I became pregnant with our first baby girl who is now 5, I had the pleasure of visiting her, along with her amazing staff, each month. I became close to them and grew to love each of them, as they ensured that I was well taken care of throughout the duration of my pregnancy. Dr. Hardwick-Smith made sure that I always had all my questions answered and was fully prepared every step of the way. The compassion, concern and knowledge she exemplified through the entire process was outstanding and much needed as a first time mommy-to-be. My second and recent pregancy was a journey. After 2 years of trying for baby #2 without success, I started fertility treatment in the Clear Lake area. I saw a specialist suggested by my insurance company. After 2 visits with this specialist, I was told to go home and grieve (yes, that was the phrase) as I was not able to conceive again due to an elevated FSH level. The specialist was not willing to commence treatment. I was lost and devastated. Since this 'so-called' specialist also said there were no second opinions to be had, I lost all hope. A week later (thank, God!) at my yearly well-woman's visit with Dr. Hardwick-Smith, I caught her up on my Clear Lake experience. She (also being an expert in light fertility treatments in her facility) said we were not stopping there. She knew of many women who had been in my shoes and knew that I was a perfect candidate for IVF. She sent me to another (Top Doctor - Timothy Hickman, Houston IVF) doc who was able to help us conceive. The 9 months following through pregnancy #2 with Dr. Hardwick-Smith and her staff were priceless. They were there for me through every emotion, fear, exam and question until the big day. Dr. Hardwick-Smith is literally the Rock Star of the Delivery Room. She put my health and the safe delivery of the baby first and ensured that ever nurse was there for me. She is amazing and I have referred many of my friends to her. I love Dr. Hardwick-Smith and think of her each day as I watch my 2 girls. Without her (& her staff), I would not be where I am. I highly recommend her practice to any woman considering changing physicians or moving to Houston. We're in League City and I would not consider driving anywhere else but to her for my care. more

I became a patient of CWCC over 5 years ago. From the minute I met Dr. Hardwick-Smith she has been thorough, patient, knowledgeable, caring and compassionate. Just what you look for in a doctor. \r \r Last November, my husband and I got pregnant for the first time- unfortunately we were devestated to learn we had an ectopic pregnancy. Worst of all days later after taking the Methotraxate- it had ruptured. During this entire difficult, gruley and emotional process Dr. Hardwick- Smith, and her staff were EXTREMELY attentive. They were fast to respond to calls, would get me in to see them within the same day if needed. The ultrasound tech- Angel was also super nice and very knowledgable. She was the one who found I had severe internal bleeding. \r \r I'll say this much, if it wasn't for Dr. Hardwick-Smith I would not be alive today. She did a great job on my surgery and the days after following her staff was amazing. Before this, when we had several ER visits her team made sure we got in right away and never ever waited. \r \r Throughout this time I also had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Jurney, who helped out tremendously during this process. She was very kind and caring and also calming during these stressful situations. She would call very late and make sure I was doing well and would not ever seemed bother if you reach out to her while she was out of the office. \r \r After my recovery, we tried conceiving again and we discovered once again another ectopic pregnancy. Before we discovered this, I watched like a hawk by the Dr. Hardwick-Smith and her nurse Brandy. Who is also amazing and wonderful to work with. During this time I also met Dr. Ohlemacher- who again was great. She too is very knowledgable, patient and caring. This time we had do do surgery again, but not for a ruptured ectopic- just to remove the pregnancy. \r \r This surgery was done on a Sunday, and Dr. Hardwick-Smith made sure to be there, so she could perform this surgery. Although, she had prior engagements to get to her son's First Communion(I learned this from other Drs) . This meant the world to me- Dr. Hardwick-Smith has great character as her doctors and staff. Time and time again they prove to be the VERY best. \r \r You will not find a more professional, kind and knowledgeable working group of Dr's. Thank you Dr. Hardwick-Smith, Dr. Jurney, Dr. Ohlemacher, Brandy, Angel and your staff for all that you have done for me, and continue to do for our family. more

I was very disappointed with this surgery as a few of my friends recommended it to me. I went there for help with conceiving and all I had was more stress there. There is no one to answer your phone call when you want to ask a question...Although my Dr was nice, most of the staff are too young and inexperienced, especially the lab ladies. They messed up pretty much everything, and wouldn't even apologize. I also feel that Drs don't spend too much time with patients and are more focused on maintaining pregnancies. I am looking for a new clinic! more

Having switched insurance plans, I had the dreaded task of finding a new OB/GYN. I chose the CWCC 1) close by, 2) staff photos and bios posted on site, 3) reviews read on this site! Like most, I've done my time in doctors' waiting rooms. I kid you not, I arrived at 3:35 for my 3:45 appt and was called into the offices by 3:44. The friendly nurse prac took my vitals and then it was off to wait for 5 mins in a very comfy and homey waiting corridor. Dr. Beard invited me into her office to chat and get to know me, her new patient. Not once did I feel her rushing me through the small talk to get me to the examining room. She was very genuine and warm. I liked her friendly and professional demeanor immediately. The well-woman visit was the first that 1) didn't hurt and 2) leave me slimy with KY (sorry, but you know what I mean!) New to me, was the system notifying test results via an email. This far beats the postcard or the phone tag. Wonderful experience and I was walking to my car by 4:30! PS I went to the Medical Center location. more

First off, this practice has two offices, one in Pearland and one in the Medical Center. I've only been to the Pearland office and I have been amazed. No doctor in any specialty will ever be good enough after seeing Dr. Ohlemacher and the rest of the team at Complete Women's Care Center. They are kind, caring, and gentle. They are respectful and treat you as a person and not a file. The office is always fresh, clean and relaxing. The staff is always so sweet and always spark up a conversation and I really can't say enough about Dr Ohlemacher, every time she comes into the room she greets me with a hug and smile. She always has time to listen to anything we have to say and gives us a full detailed response and then I've noticed that she asks ""Did I answer your question?"" to make sure that I have what I need. Her nurse is super, every time she uses the Doppler to check for fetal heart tones, she makes sure to warn about the ultrasound jelly going on, she gives us a report on the heart, she cleans up the jelly and ALWAYS gives me a hand to sit up, which you NEVER see anymore! Any tests that need to be done or are optional are always explained in detail and any results are explained as well. I have not one complaint about this practice and honestly am having trouble finding a pediatrician that can live up to my spoiled standards now!! more

My husband and I have settled in Houston after years of transferring to different cities due to his job. This office was recommended to me and I made the appointment. I cannot say enough about the thorough care received at this practice. I believe it is the BEST in the US and Angel is absolutely the greatest ultrasound tech I have EVER had ANYWHERE! She is a complete professional. Thorough, kind, gentle and caring. An absolute jewel. more

My wife and I are first time parents in our 40's. As such, we had weekly ultrasound scans done at our fertility doctor's office prior to trasnferring over to Complete Women's Care. We just want to commend Angel on being the best Ultrasound Technician in the city as well as one of the most caring people we have met during our pregnancy. She always went the extra mile to make sure that we were satisfied during a session. Her expertise made our experience that much more special. There is a big difference between Angel and the other technician we had when we came for a Saturday appointment one time. The Saturday technician was rushed and never got good views. She really let us down. I wish everyone in the medical field could be as professional and caring as Angel was with my wife and I. more

Angel is an amazing tech! I was so worried I wasn't going to be able to get any good photos of my baby girl because she's just too stubborn! But Angel took her time and got some really good shots even with the feet in the way. Being a first time mother, my experience at Complete Women's Care has been truly wonderful, stress free, and enjoyable. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED! more

I cannot say enough about Dr. Ohlemacher and her staff at the Pearland office. I really value the convenience of avoiding the med center for all of my routine pregnancy check-ups but with the benefit of delivering in the med center and having such a well respected group of doctors available (should Dr. Ohlemacher not be on-call when I go into labor). From my very first meeting with Dr. Ohlemacher before I was pregnant up until now, my husband and I have been treated with such compassion and care. She has never once made me feel rushed or that I am pestering her when I've called her office with prescription refill requests or questions. The front staff at the Pearland office is always completely on top of their game. They have settled billing issues with my insurance when it would have been up to me to do so. But they went the extra step so I wouldn't have to. How nice is that?!? All around, it has been an incredibly positive experience and I feel very fortunate and trust Dr. Ohlemacher will be a perfect doctor for us when we welcome our baby in the next few months. more

I was going to CWCC for the first time due to an abnormal pap elsewhere and because I had a bad experience at my last OBGYN, I was really excited to go here. Unfortunately, I had to wait 15 min past my appt time (after being told to be sure to get there early) just to see the nurse. Then after another 45 minutes of waiting, the doctor came in and told me that I had an abnormal pap and needed more testing... which was what my appt was scheduled for in the first place! I talked to the doctor for 5 minutes! Yes, 5 minutes, and then told I would need to make another appointment. I am a student and have no insurance so now I am paying TWO office fees + expenses for what could have and SHOULD have been done in one. I was very disappointed, to say the least. But don't get me wrong, my doctor seemed very nice (although it's hard to get to know someone in just a few minutes) and I'll be going back for the testing so hopefully next time will live up to all the other ratings.. more

Angel is the best ultrasound expert!!! she really takes her time and makes the experience unforgettable!! I look forward to seeing my baby in the ultrasounds and really appreciate her caring and kind nature!!! more

I have so many fantastic things to say about CWCC I barely know where to begin! I have never been one to look forward to going to the doctor until I found CWCC! I have been a patient of Dr. Jurney's for the past 9 months. She is the most genuine, warm, caring, doctor I have ever met. Since day one she has made me feel as if I've been her patient for years. I've had a long pregnancy with many ups and downs and Dr. Jurney's compassionate personalty mixed with her expertise has made my experience very special. My husband has accompanied me to every single one of my twenty something appointments and EVERY single time we walk away raving about our experience. The office staff and nurses are also extremely friendly and caring. We are always greeted with a huge smile! I have had numerous ultrasounds performed by Angel and her upbeat positive personality has put me at ease from day one. At 31 wks I had a 2 week hospital stay for pre-term labor. I had the opportunity to meet each Doctor in the practice and was blown away by the care and compassion from each Doctor. I highly recommend this practice to every woman looking for a life time doctor. As much as I am looking forward to the birth of my babies I will truly miss seeing Dr. Jurney and the staff on a regular basis! ~Jennie and Chris more

I have been a patient at Complete Women's Care Center for over 7 years and have had 2 perfect pregnancies and deliveries with Dr. Hardwick-Smith. I can't understand why anyone would go anywhere else! Dr. Hardwick-Smith is personable and professional as are all of the other providers in the practice. Everyone is so nice from the front office staff to the nurses. The office is beautiful and is in a league of its own compared to other OB/GYN offices. I now only have to go for my annual visit each year and truly miss visiting with everyone there. Again, I can't say enough about Complete Women's Care Center. If you want to receive excellent care, you should go there! more

Without exception, the doctors and staff at Complete Women's Care Center are second to none. Unlike most doctor's offices, I actually look forward to my visits. Every point of contact is always a good experience and I leave the office feeling calm and taken care of. Susan Hardwick Smith sets the standard with her outgoing, easy and approachable personality. Dr. HS delivered my beautiful twin girls 7 years ago after holding my hand throughout a somewhat risky pregnancy. Her confidence gave me confidence and I can't imagine finding another OBGyn like her!
