Inconsistent Food 9/12/2010

Can by good for a simple dinner, but their problem is that the food is inconsistent. I had the steak burger about a month ago and it was great. Had it again tonight and it was aweful. Ordered as medium rare, it came out very well done. Our guests ordered the salmon burger and it was just as over cooked and not edible. The Manager came out, asked if we wanted it re-made. Appreciate that. But when we said "no" since we had limited time, she just said "ok" and walked off. Not impressive. At the end of the meal, I had to remind them to at least take one of the items off the bill. more

good food 5/16/2010

I really enjoy the salmon burgers at Coho, and they have great happy hour menu, I have been a dozen times. I would reccomend this restaurant for the food but not the customer service, a lot of the staff seem as though they don't want to be there. Pros: food and atmosphere Cons: poor customer service more

Gone down hill 1/5/2009

I have ate with a group of 4 to 6 friends, monthly to bi-weekly, at Cohos throughout the past year, at least once a month. I like the service I've received and the restaurant has a nice touch. Their first mistake was to get rid of the Tiramisu for no good reason. A group of us went to Cohos just just for desert. Ever since they got rid of it we have never ordered desert. I guess we are spiteful. More recently, they stopped giving bread! Seems pretty ridiculous. Now I feel cheated. Needless to say. Our group is going to start going somewhere else. Pros: Parking Cons: No desert worth getting, No free bread, Generally a wait to be seated more

Great food and Employees 11/25/2008

I love eating at the Coho Cafe!! I like the fact that their food isn't just sesfood! My favorites are the rib appitizer, the steamed clams, they have a very hearty grilled chicken club and tasty coco prawns with a lime dipping sauce. There is fun salads like the Asian chicken or seafood chop. Also I love the yummy deserts aswell, like the berry cobler and lava cake! i love it all and I alway anticipate my return! The staff is friendly and seem to all try really hard to work together as a team. I can always find someone to asnwer my questions, bring bread or any other needs. Plus to top it all of thee is a terrific bar that serves happy hour twice daily. I love this place and admire how hard the staff work here. Those of you who write complaints about a none 5 star experience are the kind of people who don't see the greater good in the efforts put out from these staff members and have different opions on what can be considers as "the perfect meal". Even if the food wasn't the best I ever had, if there staff is friendly and attentive then they deserve more than a fowl tempered degenerate bringing them down. If you haven't seen the movie 'Waiting' then you wouldn't understand... "DONT BE AN A-HOLE TO THE PEOPLE WHO HANDLE YOUR FOOD" Pros: friendly staff, great menu, nice seating, welcoming decor Cons: none! more

excellent food, extremely excellent staff! 9/24/2008

I went to the Coho Cafe in Redmond last Saturday around 4:30. Honestly, I couldn't be more pleased or impressed. My friend and I were immediately greeted by an extremely friendly hostess, who seemed to go out of her way to make us feel comfortable and accommodated. She even got our drinks started, and later helped serve our meals. Our server was very attentive, but never intrusive. Any and all questions we had were answered with ease, and it was very clear he knew the menu well. We started with the crab tower, and ceviche, which were both refreshing and delicious. I chose the seafood fettuccine, which left me full and satisfied. My friend chose the macadamia prawns from the new promotion, and almost licked the plate clean. The pineapple banana salsa definitely made that dish. The menu has something for absolutely everyone, which is excellent for picky eaters. Our drinks were never empty, and our dinner was timed to the tee. I would definitely consider myself a happy customer. There is a clear sense of teamwork at Coho, and I fully intend to return for the staff alone! It's just an added bonus that the food is delicious and reasonably priced. I fully recommend this restaurant to everyone, unless you've got a hearing problem...because it got fairly noisy. I look forward to my next dining experience there. Pros: very friendly staff, delicious food. Cons: somewhat noisy. more

One of our favorites 8/7/2008

One of our favorite restaurants not only for the family and large groups on Friday evenings, but for causal drinks with our friends. Great fire place outside. Amazing alder wood smoked salmon. Really nice servers. A wonderful place. You just don't get these kind of places in Seattle... Pros: outdoor seating, salmon, food, service, drinks Cons: busy, busy busy - can be fun... more

Preferred Restaurant in Redmond 5/19/2008

My husband and I have been dining at Coho's for many years and can't remember a time we didn't enjoy our dinner, lunch or Sunday Brunch. Comfortable atmosphere. Rarely has the service been anything but outstanding. The menu offers a nice variety of delicous food and good sized portions. We expecially like the Chef's Special's that change with the season. On many occasions the chef will communicate with the guests about their dining experience . Service is great! more

Highly Recommend the Coho in Redmond!! 5/19/2008

I have worked at Microsoft for the past three years and this is our weekly restaurant to meet at for one-one-ones, morale events, and with my family. The food is fantastic, the staff is very friendly and engaging, and I can get cheap movie tickets for the Bella Botega Theater as well! I have had few issues in the years I have been going to Coho, and in those instances management quickly stepped in and took care of us, making it is very positive experience. I highly recommend the Coho in Redmond. more

Fantastic Restaurant 5/13/2008

5/13 I had a fantastic experience at Coho. I opened the door and was immediately acknowledged by the smiling hostess. She remembered me and said ?Your friend is already here- Let me take you to your table.? I sat down and seconds later the waiter (with a great attitude) came to grab my drink order. Last time I was in, the manager suggested a new dish called the Cevicha Tostada. It is now my favorite dish now. Our drinks were never empty, our waiter was never far away when we needed him and our food was spectacular. Even the manager stopped by to see how the food was!!! This restaurant functions like clockwork. Other employees will fill your drink up even when it is not their table. A special thank you for making this a GREAT restaurant experience for me, my family and friends? Denise- amazing customer service skills, great up seller and great problem solver Todd- great with anticipating customer needs and delivering in a timely fashion (5 star quality service) Josh ? very professional when waiting tables- good listener Meredith and Cali- never without a smile and great attitude & team camaraderie Eric- Always is creating new tasty dishes- keeps the menu fresh If someone asks me about this restaurant, on a rating of 1-10, I would give them an 11. Actions speak louder than words, and we have been going there for 6 YEARS, roughly 3 times a week! Thank you Coho!!! Loyal customer #1 Pros: Service more

Love the Coho 5/4/2008

Highly recommend this place for a great meal and great service. The Coho Cafe is becoming my favorite local restaurant. I recently discovered Coho and have been there four times this month. They have the best Ahi Tuna Tacos but they also have a great selection of fresh fish and interesting dishes. The staff is very friendly, timely and knowledgeable. I can't wait till the weather improves so I can take advantage of their patio dining. I would compare Coho Cafe to a contemporary downtown restaurant BUT you don't have to pay to park and they don't charge $15 for a good martini. Keep up the good work. Pros: Great food and service Cons: Always busy so a bit noisy more

Check you food... 4/28/2008

I had lunch at the Coho Cafe in Redmond on 4/23/08. When my entree arrived, my lettuce had dead gnats on it. The waitress took it away and brought me new lettuce, which also had dead gnats on it! The waitress was less-than apologetic. Check your food carefully if you eat here! more

The best food on the East Side. 5 star service! 4/25/2008

Today I had a wonderful lunch experience at the Redmond Coho. The service was 5 star, the food was high quality and my iced tea was re-filled when it was a bit over 1/2 empty. I have been to the Coho for business lunches as well as evening dinners with my family with equally great experiences. The main menu has enough variety to satisfy the tastes of my international business clients as well as my kids. I would absolutely recommend the Coho as ?the place to eat? in Redmond. I would also recommend the happy hour snacks. more

Great Lunch Experience 4/25/2008

I had a really nice lunch experience at the Coho with really outstanding service - I'm adding this to my list of trusted places to have lunch with good friends! The hostess was very accomodating giving us the table we requested, the waiter was attentive without being obtrusive, and the Manager even checked in on us personally to make sure we were satisfied with our dining experience. Add to that well prepared food and a pleasant upscale atmosphere, and you've got the perfect spot to enjoy the company of a friend! I'm definitely coming back! more

Best place for a business lunch 4/25/2008

I am a local (work at Microsoft) and a long time patron of the Coho Cafe in Redmond. My office team dines here weekly and I have never had a bad meal. Despite how busy they seem to be (and they are always busy) we can always count on getting in and out in time to return to work. They are a reliable, consistent and delicious. Another great thing is that they accept the Passport Card (buy one, get one free card.) One of my favorite dishes is the Seafood Fettucine but all the entrees are excellent. The staff is friendly and often address me by name. This adds to the experience and gives a personal touch. I love my neighborhood restaurant and highly recommend Coho. more

Five Star Service, Five Star Food 4/24/2008

I live in downtown Seattle and was skeptical when a friend recently drove me to Coho Cafe for dinner. We pulled up into an outdoor mall scenario and I was even MORE skeptical. BUT, as soon as we walked through the doors, my attitude changed. From the hostess, to the server, to the gracious manager, we could not have asked for better service. Everyone was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable without being at all pretentious. There were so many things on the menu that looked great, I had a difficult time deciding what to order. My friend and I split the Ceviche Tostada- to DIE for!- and I chose the Seafood Mixed Grill. Again... to DIE for! I loved that the manager worked the room, checking in on tables without being intrusive. We really enjoyed her! And our server was lovely as well. I will no longer cringe when anyone suggests going to the Eastside, but I guarantee you that I will insist that we go to Coho Cafe. more

Terrible dining experience 4/23/2008

We went to dinner last night at Coho Cafe Redmond. My husband and I both ordered the Tuscan Steak Salad, when the server brought out our meal; she slipped right in front of our table and in turn dumped the entire contents of the two salads on me and my husband. My hair, the sweater and the jacket on the back of the chair, my husband?s shirt and pants were covered with balsamic vinegar. The server apologized and said she would go get the manager. The manager brought a few people to our table and mopped the floor and said she would bring our salads out again. We waited another 15 minutes with no one stopping by to check on us or offer some bread while watching my parents and my daughter eating their diner until finally the manager showed up with our salads and three vouchers for dry cleaning. I told her that of the four pieces of clothes that were stained, 3 are 100% cotton and the other one is a fleece jacket so we don?t need the dry cleaning voucher. The manager sternly replied saying that it?s really not her fault that the server slipped and the restaurant policy is dry clean vouchers, and the two salads would still be on our bill. I want to emphasize that in no point that either my husband or I asked for or even suggested a free entre; it?s the attitude of the manager that turned an unfortunate dining experience into a terrible dining experience. At that point, we were so upset that we lost all our appetite and we told the manager that we no longer wanted the salad and we?d rather go grab something to eat elsewhere after my parents were done with their meal. Right around the time that my parents were finishing their dinner, the manager showed up again at our table and told us in an annoyed voice that we didn?t have to pay for the meal knowing very well that my husband and I didn?t have the dinner. Again, we didn?t ask for a free meal, we were upset at her attitude, offering a free meal with little sincerity is really not necessary. more
