I was extremely happy with Scott and my experience at Bay Area Scuba. Tony and Jade prepared me fully during the pool sessions. I know this because I did my open water dives with PADI instructors in Tahiti and I never felt as though there was anything new that had not already been covered by Bay Area. I am recommending Bay Area Scuba to my friends.\r Thanks again, Scott. more

Wow,What can I say this was the most fun I have had in my life! The scuba class was awsome. I was very please with the way they made it so easy and safe to teach me scuba. I was taught each aspect of diving. I would like to continue to work with Bay Area Scuba in the future and take my Scuba Instructor classes also. Thanks Bay Area Scuba for all you have done for me. Will see each other soon. more

I had a great time learning how to dive at Bay Area Scuba. Scott was extremely informative and I especially enjoyed his ""teachable moments"". I feel confident now that I have the skills to dive. I would definitely recommend Bay Area Scuba to anybody looking to learn how to dive safely.\r \r On a side note, I was very impressed with Scott's professional and flexible nature when it came to handling my busy schedule. He was even willing to give me a ride too and from the pool which was greatly appreciated.\r \r I'm looking forward to going on a dive with Scott sometime soon! more

Scott and Tony, thank you for the course. I started out with Tony and finished with Scott. Scott was extremely patient with my wife, and we finished our open-water dives in Maui. The instructor was extremely happy with how well-prepared we were and thanks again Scott for that one extra pool session. It made all the difference in the world. \r I highly recommend Bay Area Scuba to anyone who is thinking about getting certified. more

It's getting harder and harder to find a good LDS in the Bay Area during these tough economic times. I think something like 4 shops have closed down in the past year. Luckily, Bay Area Scuba is still going strong. Scott, the owner, is a bit eccentric, but he's a great guy who has a load of experience in the diving industry. He's also a guy that prides himself on his perfect safety record, which I consider the most important aspect of this business.\r I recently tagged along during one of the open water pool sessions (conducted in a huge, heated, covered pool 5 minutes from the shop), and I was impressed by the level of personal attention each student received. In fact, I'm considering doing an instructor course next month through his shop.\r Also, relatively cheap prices for his courses and gear. And he let me fill my tank for free, which is always a nice bonus.\r The shop is kinda hard to find, but luckily you can just set everything up on the phone or on-line. more

I planned a last minute vacation to Cozumel, and finally wanted to get certified. Because I live in San Jose, I called a local shop, and they said I did not have enough time because it takes the books a while to get there, and I wouldn't have enough time to study.\r \r That is how I found Bay Area Scuba, from an online Google search.\r \r I called Scott and he was extremely responsive. He said no problem, check my email and I will have a link to do online classes, and then the next weekend I can do my pool classes. I spent a few days completing my online class and then showed up for my pool classes, review and test. George was my instructor for the pool. Scott and George were awesome! George was especially helpful in the pool. He really took his time to make sure you were ready for open water diving.\r \r I went to Cozumel to do my open Dive at Blue Angel Resort. My open dives were complete and referral paperwork signed.\r \r I returned home and visited Scott the next week to complete my paperwork to get certified. We were done immediately, and I had the application and passport photos mailed that day.\r \r Bottom line is, Scott is professional, knows his stuff! If you want to get certified in Scuba, (or even firearmes) I definitely recommend Bay Area Scuba! more

Did my in-pool training with Scott three weeks ago, did my check-out dives in Monterey two weeks ago, and did my first dives to 90ft in Turks & Caicos last week! Absolutely amazing! more

Even though Scott had certified me a million years ago, he obviously made a big impression because he was the first person I thought of when my boss called me into his office to ask about scuba courses. My boss had a big Hawaii trip scheduled this last year and needed to get his kids certified before they left. Scott was great about making time for them and rushing them through the certification as quickly as he could so that they could finish their certification/do their open water dive on their Hawaii trip! Scott was a job saver with the small amount of time my boss allotted me to get his kids certified! He has always been really responsive to my scheduling needs as well as any questions or concerns that my boss had. I would definitely recommend him to anyone else who wants to look into scuba. more

My husband and I called Scott about a week before we actually had to sign up for a class. We were on a tight schedule as we just planned our vacation to Hawaii and were leaving in a couple of weeks. We wanted to finish the first two parts of the certification - the online test and the pool test so we can take the ocean diving lessons in Hawaii. This was our first visit to Hawaii and Scott was extremely nice to refer us to the best place out there possible - Honu, Kona, Hawaii.\r \r Scott did not only gave us a break in the price but he also took the both of us almost without any further notice and planning and he went beyond by referring us to this amazing place in Hawaii. We are now Nase Scuba Certified and had no troubles doing so.\r \r Thank you Scott! more

My experience with Bay Area Scuba rated 5 stars. We made arrangements for the class that would fit our schedule with the open dive certification 3 weeks later. The instructor for the class was knowledgeable and thorough. Jade, the pool instructor was patient , fun and also thorough. Our open dive was a fantastic experience. Keith and Carol were just great to do 4 dives with and by the end of the 4th dive, we felt we more than competent at diving. It was exhilarating! more

Scott was very helpful an accommodating when I need to get my dive certification at the very last minute. I called him on Friday, said I was leaving on Monday for the Dominican Republic and wanted to go diving. I had no prior experience and this was a total spur of the moment decision. I asked him if this was even possible and he got me going on it that very afternoon. Easter weekend, mind you! After a few minor setbacks, we got it done - Scott made sure of it! I'm now on my way to the DR with my diving referral in hand and can wait to do my first open water dive over there! more

Scott will absolutely make sure you get what you need. I had a little snafu three hours before my flight out of the country and Scott bent over backward to help me out, offering to meet me at the airport at 10:30 at night to deliver some paperwork I hadn't received. Pick up the phone and call him if there's any issue - he'll make it right, 100%. And the instructors are amazing - mine went at the perfect pace, was totally professional and easygoing, and made it a breeze. He explains things perfectly and takes all the mystery out of the what-happens-to-air-under-pressure questions. I would absolutely recommend this place without question. more

Small shop, personnal service, very experienced. Went through Divemaster, appreciated flexability and individual service, now working commercially. Very good instructor, very personable. Diving takes a little time and effort but is well worth it. more
