Email and internet communications 2/7/2011

The internet sales department and email communication from salesmen leaves a lot to be desired. I emailed on a Saturday intending to purchase if the price was right. Did not receive a reply until closing time. Same thing the following weekend. I decided to drive to the lot and received good service. Went home and made my decision. Texted and emailed my sales rep at 11:30 am. At 7pm that evening, I was told they were limited on staff and I would have an answer by noon the following day. At 11 am the following day, I was told the car sold after my salesman went home for the evening. I understand that mis communications can happen, but my last contact with him was at 7pm, and they closed at 8pm. I have a hard time believing that the car was sold in that hour. I have dealt with other dealerships via internet and had great results. Beaverton Kia needs help in that department for sure. I must add that they are friendly and I experienced no pressure, which was wonderful. more

Almost a good experience - the sequel 9/23/2010

I too recently bought a car from Bob Lanphere Beaverton Honda and so happened to have Linda as the Sales person. She was very nice. Unfortunately, much like a the previous reviewer, the problems began with their Finance Manager and with the companies integrity regarding the stated warranty and the use of interest rates as a price tactic. more

BUSH LEAGUE USED CAR SALES MANAGER 7/3/2010

If you need to trade in a car with a car purchase, I would seriously recommend going to every Honda dealership BUT Bob Lamphere's Beaverton Honda. The numbers for the trade-in that the used car manager showed was so bad, it was criminal. Everything people hate about the negotiating process of a car happened at this dealership -- TWICE. Our family friend pointed me to nice sales guy there to try again but it was EVEN WORSE the second time through. The used car sales manager needs to be replaced and will be considered absolute bush league amongst their peers. Try Jay Lee's Honda or Parker Johnstone before even thinking about going to Beaverton Honda. Heck, shoot me a note and I could probably arrange a better deal for you then these would even consider. Pros: Salespeople are nice Cons: Used manager tries to rip people off more

Almost a good experience 1/10/2010

I recently bought a car from Beaverton Honda. My experience with the sales staff was fantastic. Linda is wonderful - no pressure, very open, honest about how everything works. My frustration is with the ""F&I"" (finance & insurance) process. All throughout the sales process, Hondas are so wonderful and reliable. All of the sudden, when you're in the back room with the finance person, you're being convinced to buy all of these expensive warranty options. My F&I person said things like, ""if you go over a bump, a computer sensor can jiggle loose and the average repair cost is over $2,000 these days"" and ""you should buy the Lojack anti-theft device because, if they steal your car and get to your house, it's all over."" I was pre-approved through my bank to finance the car. They told me just to have the dealership send over a purchase order. The F&I person wanted me to go through ""the process"" at the dealership anyway citing that it would be easier for me because I wouldn't have to sign papers twice. After going through the process, it was clear to me that the real reason was so that they wouldn't miss the opportunity to try to sell me warranties. I'd go back to Beaverton Honda because of the sales staff, but I won't let myself be lured into spending all that time in the ""back room."" Beaverton Honda is very close to providing a car-buying experience that is enjoyable. Too bad the last 1.5 hours leave you feeling worked over and on the defensive. Pros: Great sales staff - honest, open, friendly Cons: The ""back room"" more

Great Salesman! 8/18/2008

I went into Beaverton Honda, actually a bit terrified because going to a car dealership is pretty scary. I was welcomed with no pressure by a nice younger sales guy named Justin. He was really friendly and honest, which really meant a lot. He helped me pick the best car for me and I couldnt have been happier with the price and the customer service. Five Stars for Beaverton Honda and Justin! Pros: honest salesman, friendly, knowledgable more

WORST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE EVER!!! 4/7/2008

My boyfriend and I bought a used car from these people about a month ago. Right off the bat we had mechanical problems with the vehicle. We immediately made an appointment to have their mechanic service the car. They provided us with a loner car, and TWO WEEKS LATER, we thought we had the issue taken care of...NOT. The car was returned to us with the problem left unresolved. I again, made an appointment with them to have the vehicle serviced. Maybe I am crazy, but when you pay $30,000 for a car, it should purr. I returned my vehicle to their service shop only to find out that they have changed their policy on loner vehicles. I now am expected to pay for a rental car, at a flat rate of $25 per day. Lets see, last time they had it for two weeks hmm...$350...I am a full time student with a part-time job...I don't have cash like that to drop. They tried to reassure me that the rental fines will be reimbursed if it is discovered to be covered under warranty. As far as I am concerned, this was a preexisting condition when I bought the car, and they should take care of it. Not forgetting to mention the fact, that when I signed the papers purchasing the vehicle, I paid a little bit extra for additional warranty coverage that would provide me with a loner vehicle, should I have mechanical issues with the car. So here I sit, car in shop, big thanks to the city for public transportation. To bad for my boyfriend who works 30 miles out of town. This has been the worst car buying experience ever. I feel like I have been lied to and taken advantage of. I will not return, nor refer anyone to this establishment. As far as the cheesy pitch the salesman fed us...""happy wife, happy life."" Well Abe, I am not happy and I won't forget this. Cons: EVERYTHING more

Amazing Customer Service 9/7/2007

I totaled my car this past week :( My car was towed to Beaverton Honda. I spoke with Colin who was very helpful and extremely nice. I recommend taking your car to Beaverton Honda for any of your service needs. Great customer service goes a long way in my book and you will find that with this business. Thanks Colin! Pros: Great Customer Service Cons: n/a more

Dishonest, bad experience 11/3/2006

I took my car for one reason, to fix a factory recall on my plymouth breeze. After taking it here, it started having problems with the transaxle shifter, which was the thing they were supposed to fix. The funny thing is, it never had problems before I brought it in. They also told me that my transmission was leaking and needed a service because of that. When I brought it back, they did a 16 point inspection for free because I had a coupon for it and they fixed the problem they had caused. With the 16 point inspection they told me my breaks were low, my oil was leaking and my belts were worn. Somehow my transmission was no longer leaking though, even though I had no work done on it. My breaks were replaced a year or so ago, and I have never seen oil leaks in my driveway. My belts may be worn, but it is clear that the mechanics at this place cannot be trusted. Pros: Cab service home while waiting Cons: Dishonest, poor work, unprofessional more
