Bear Rock Cafe

My husband and I enjoy this restaurant, but our children love it! On Sunday nights, kids eat free, which makes it even better! They offer macaroni and cheese kids' meals (although I think it is the instant mac and cheese) and peanut butter and jelly kids' meals, which makes my kids HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY! (Ah, the simple things in life!) The kids' meals also include a cup of fresh fruit and a bag of chips. They even include some small token of a "prize" which usually doesn't make it out of the restaurant, but they enjoy it for the few minutes we are there. This is a great place to meet other families for dinner, because the food is prepared quickly and there are a couple of "sections" in the restaurant, so that you can usually get a large table for your group. more

Bear Rock is one of my favorite places in Greensboro to have lunch. They offer a wonderful selection of made-to-order sandwiches. Their breads are homemade and sinfully delicious. I love their potato soup -- it tastes best when served in one of their bread bowls. They offer a small selection of desserts: cookies, cookie bars, slices of cake/pie, brownies. My husband and son love their cookies. I love their children's menu. Bravo to them for offering FRUIT with each children's meal. Prices are reasonable. There are always coupons in the local paper to make your total bill even cheaper. Lunch time can be crowded - as it is a favorite place for the locals to grab lunch. Staff is always friendly. The restaurant is very clean. Only negative = no diaper changing facilities in their bathrooms. One would think if you are going to market yourself as a family restaurant, that you would go the extra step and offer diaper changing facilities in at least one bathroom. more
