They looked carefully over the whole car, and offered to repair some other small dents on the car that weren't from the accident, which I accepted, since the price was reasonable. And the result was that I couldn't even tell where those dents once were. more

Ok, so this time I hit some cones that got knocked into the one of two open lanes on the freeway at 11:30 at night on 880. There was A LOT of damage. More than you would think. First call in the a.m. - insurance company; second call - Baron Von Frier. Although it was driving fine, they asked me to bring it in right away to assess whether it was safe to drive - it was not - so Linda immediately drew up the paperwork and started ordering me a rental. I was out of there in 20 minutes and got my car back in less than a week."" more

Their customer service was excellent. They took care of setting up a rental car and had the Enterprise guy waiting for me when I arrived. They kept in contact every 2 days with updates and they negotiated with the insurance company to get everything back to original. When I went to pick up my truck, they walked me thru all the work step by step. Their body work and paint work was excellent. They gave me a little bottle of touch up paint to be used if I get any nicks from parking lots. (A nice touch!) more

The people at Baron Von Frier are the most helpful business people I know. Dave and his wife are extremely knowledgeable about working with all forms of car insurance. I find them to be very honest. They answered all my questions about insurance (insider knowledge, perhaps the kind the insurance companies don't really want us to know). Thanks to them, I feel empowered to make my own decisions. I'm no longer afraid saying too much or too little when talking to my insurance company becuase I know my rights!\r \r The first time I met Dave, the owner, was the day a garbage truck moved forward and took my driver-side door with it. After the police report, I couldn't drive the car anywhere so I started calling around. Dave drove about 5 miles to me to inspect the damage (at no charge) to let me know if he could fix my door (he was there in less than an hour, maybe a half hour). He educated me as to my options, I came to trust him as someone who just wants to do his job right, and before I knew it I had a brand new door. They took care of the insurance forms.\r \r The second time I used their services is when I rear-ended someone else. I had my car towed from Hayward to ""the Baron"" in Berkeley (that's an expensive tow) because I trust Dave, especially when it involves insurance. Dave took the time to educate me about my options. I decided to send it to the junk yard. Dave gave me his time and expertise for free, because in the end, I didn't have him do any work on the vehicle. The woman I collided with was nice enough to work with me directly (not through insurance). She shopped around at a few body shops, then I had her take it to the Baron. They quoted a much lower price, a couple hundred less than the others. I know they'll restore her car back to like-new condition.\r \r So, I guess you could call me a satisfied customer. So satisfied, I'm writing this ad for no other reason than to just say thank you Baron von Frier! more

HORRIBLE experience. Started out good because everyone seemed so nice, friendly, and honest, but went rapidly downhill when i went to pick up my car and noticed a NEW dent and several accompanying scratches that they refused to accept responsibility for. They even seemed outraged (actually ""offended"" was the word the owner used) that I was accusing them of being dishonest, although I never attacked them -- I just wanted to know why there was a new dent that I had no idea about! Oh and their ""records"" showed they had contacted me about the 2nd dent and I had told them not to repair it. BS! I never got a phone call nor a message about that dent. I had no idea about it until I picked up my car the first time. And when I noticed it then and asked them about it, they ""conveniently"" could not find the check in sheet. uh huh. It ended up costing me $800 out of pocket to fix (this is after they reluctantly agreed to pay for half, which meant it supposedly cost $1600 total). They pride themselves on being more expensive, saying it's worth it because the quality of work is superior. I knew this going in but i thought it'd be ok since insurance was covering the initial repair, but i'm now $800 poorer. Yes, my car looks nice and new again (except for a nick on the corner of my supposedly brand new rear bumper. Since I'm not THAT picky, I let it go. But the new dent that they caused, I couldn't overlook). Oh and the owner said that she charged me a cheaper labor rate for the new dent, but when I checked the invoice against the 1st repair, same exact labor rate! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I'm not the only one who's had a bad experience. Pros: Independent shop, wide assortment of magazines in the waiting room Cons: Not reasonable, dishonest, expensive more

In an accident. Baron had it 1+ month (insurance only $$ rental for 1 month - we $$ extra not wanting to rush Baron) Car fithly inside/out alignment obviously crooked. Interior doused with febreeze! We called and they were excepting it. Baron said bring it in in a week(?!). 2nd time body work on outside better - inside crap. Baron paid for rental 2nd time ( only supposed to take one day and I think it ended up being 4 or 5). For the $$ service should have been much better. I liked that it was a small, tidy shop our car the 1st time (we did not rush them at ALL) was truly inexcuseable. Exterior bodywork was completed the 2nd time around, but the interior still problem Also if the estimates would have been near the actual our car might have been totalled.
