Review content:
I was really looking for a trusted car repair shop and I contacted Armory Auto Parts & Repair which followed a face to face meeting. Due to relocating back to NYC from Maryland my car needed to pass inspection but had an issue with the engine light. Armory Auto Repair could not get it right. My initial visit at the shop began December 20, 2011 and due to not being able to get my inspection sticker I was given by Armory a 10 day extension preventing a violation ticket. Between picking up my car, leaving my car I began keeping a timeline of my visits to Armory due to my engine light not going out, although very concerned I wanted Armory to get it right. From December 20, 2011 (work began 12/22) through January 3, 2012 my car was constantly in and out of the shop (more in than out) for hours, days & even weeks due to their inability to resolve my engine light issue. When I was in possession of my vehicle, I then had to turn around to take the car back to the shop. I knew to cut my losses but I wanted to believe that the problem would get resolved. What happened instead was their greediness in wanting to extract more money from me after I agreed to pay them over $1,600.00 for a complete Head Gasket Set, Exhaust Valves, Intake Valves, Machine Shop Cost, for Lifter and Antifreeze to resolve my engine light, the light is out but looking back just ridiculous. Because of what I experienced and had to go through Armory will loose more than gained, karma comes back multifold. Additional work performed on my vehicle was the Idle Speed Motor installation done on January 6, 2012. From January 6 through January 25 my vehicle kept shutting down from the load (Heat, AC, and Radio) put on the vehicle or if I idled too long, placed my gear in park, etc. What existed also was erratic surging where the RPM needle would go up and down making you always think the car is about to shut down. This work also had my vehicle in their shop for more days and hours than expected. I visited the shop so often, I was beginning to think I worked there and before now (1/26) their audacity to think I would give them another almost $1,700.00 for another Cylinder Head job made me very angry. ARMORY AUTO PARTS & REPAIR, INC IS A RIPOFF ORGANIZATION. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR THERE. What I found out from another shop on why my vehicle is phasing out is because of a defective Mass Air Flow Sensor ~ in your face Armory! When I decided to run, I ran away from your shop as fassssst as I needed to. Why would any shop expect a customer to pay for another Cylinder Head Replacement when it couldn't be determined what the issue is? My vehicle was in and out of their shop for almost an entire month talking about the same repair issue never resolved but was expected to pay almost another $1,700.00? No way! Shame on you Armory Repair!
