In attempts to give a dog a loving home, I was denied. The dog was going to be an outside pet (not by any choice of my own) but was not going to be neglected, tied to a box, or forgotten by any means. In knowing who I was and that I was present at the shelter DIRECTLY in front of them, they proceeded to call my home and inform my family that I wasn't allowed to have the dog. I found it to be a slap in the face. I love animals and was insulted at the fact that they would presume I would neglect it just because it would be outdoors. I will never adopt from this shelter again. I found my current dog in the Bulletin Board and he is anything but neglected. He goes to the park, car rides, on family vacations and gets regular flea/tick meds and baths. He is WELL taken care of. If they expect to find these dogs loving homes, I suggest that start showing people some common courtesy.
