About 4 years ago I had both of my A/C units replaced with Rheem Prestige. Shortly after installation one of the units began making an intermittent, loud banging sound when it would start up. The sound was very sporadic, not always consistent and very difficult for Alaskan to pin down. Not that they did not try-several technicians tried to solve the problem but to no avail. Keep in mind that I was the one hearing the problem and they were working off a recording I had made. We could not duplicate the noise anytime a tech was here to repair or check the unit out. Gary Mullen to the rescue!! Gary was convinced there was a problem and got the local Rheem representative to take a look. Sure enough, he discovered something in the compressor that was not right and elected to replace the unit. Sometime later Alaskan arrived with not only one complete new unit but two!! They were not sure exactly where the problem was and did not want the other unit effected. Gary Mullens stuck with me to solve this problem where I'm sure others would have given up. This was a noise that only occurred intermittently and did not effect how the units performed-they worked fine other than the noise from the upstairs unit. Gary and Alaskan have provided excellent service and support throughout this scenario-they have restored my confidence in the fact that there are still people who care about doing things right and following up when things need fixing. I cannot say enough about Gary Mullen, his team and the outstanding support Alaskan provides. I highly recommend them for your AC needs.
